We got married in late 2020 and I didn’t get deeper into finances until summer 2021 so we don’t fully combine assets/income/expenses right now. Planning on more fully incorporating savings/investments but not checking/spending next year so would appreciate any advice on that.

- Me: ~$129,000 in tax advantaged accounts and ~$17,000 in a brokerage
- Roth: 2015 – current: maxing out
- 401k: 2015 – 2018: 10% with 6% match, 2018 – 2020: 12% with 2% match, 2021 – future: maxing out with 2% match
- Mr rainbow: ~$259,000 in tax advantaged accounts and ~$114,000 in a brokerage
- no idea how he got here, he’s worked full time since 18 though
Home [extreme parental help]
We live in a 2bd/2ba condo my parents own and pay for utilities, HOA and property tax. 2017-2020 I also paid for my sister’s property tax since she wasn’t working yet.
- 2012 – 2015: parents bought in cash and rented it out
- 2015 – 2018: I lived alone and yearly fixed costs were around $15,000.
- 2018 – current: mr rainbow lives here. He pays about $9,000 a year and I pay about $3,000
In 5 years, we plan to remodel and move into another of my parents’ rental homes and pay the mortgage/utilities/property tax. We would either sell (for $400k+) or rent the condo (~$2k/month). My parents would recoup their initial investment, giving us $200k+ or let us manage the rental in exchange for the income.
So, current equity is $0 or ~$200k. These plans are tentative, it’s really up to my parents to decide what works best for our whole family.

- $10,000 from mr rainbow (he adds $1,000/month), $84,000 from me, and $140,000 from my parents (accumulated since childhood)
- this was intended to be a down payment + remodel budget on a house but we’ve officially given up.

- Mr rainbow: ~$80,000

I am not super familiar with these bags, however, I do know they are super expensive! Do you think this would be an original on Darcey's arm or some a fake? I realise they have money but 50K handbag money?? These two are a hot mess but I hope they are being a little savvy with their money for their kids.
Also one other thing I have noticed - correct me if I am wrong - their dad seems to be really down to earth and intelligent. He really cares for them, he may be a bit of an enabler but they are grown women so really it's up to them what they do. In Season 1 he was talking about coronavirus and his statements were spot on considering that was filmed right at the beginning of the pandemic and there was no real knowledge yet.
