In 2017 in Romania, the father Mihai sold his BMW to his cousin, a man named Dorin, for 2000 euro's. Later, the car broke down and Dorin demanded a refund. Mihai refused, which prompted an enraged Dorin to smash Mihai's new car and the old BMW with a hammer. A criminal case was opened, but the two cousins reconciled. Despite this, Dorin continued to demand a refund, and Mihai refused.
January 2019: In the cold night, Dorin got drunk and drove an hour to Mihai's house. At 4:30am, Mihai and his family woke up to loud noises. Mihai saw a figure using a chainsaw to cut open the front door. He called 112 (Romanian 911) on his cell phone. He reported that someone was using a chainsaw to break down the door and begged the police to come. The police simply told Mihai to go back to sleep: "you must be hearing the neighbour cutting wood".
Mihai realized the danger and told his younger son: “Run, hide! This guy will kill us! ” The son jumped out the window and broke both legs, but was able to escape. The other residents of the house barricaded themselves in a bedroom.
Mihai himself ran out the back door of the house. The intruder Dorin noticed the two fleeing, and ran after them. His target was Mihai. Mihai to climb the yard's fence, but the assailant caught up to him on the fence and beheaded him with the chainsaw. Mihai died on the spot, in a pool of blood.
The noise of the commotion alerted the neighbors. Some called the police and several crews arrived at the scene. The ambulance also came. They found the killer Dorin on the street, not far from his victim Mihai.
Dorin was captured and sentenced to 25 years behind bars.

I woke up this morning to a knock at the door and was groaning because I was certain it was the Jehovah's Witnesses coming to ruin my late morning in. Again. They knocked, and they rang so I figured I should at least get up and wish them a Happy New Year.
So I was very surprised to see FedEx at the door needing me to sign for a package. 'That's weird' I thought. The only thing I was waiting on was a book I bought for my friend. 'Why does *that* need a signature?' She then brought over a very large box that was much, much bigger than any book I'd ever seen.
I lugged it inside very confused and still tired, trying to remember what the heck I ordered that constituted this. I realized that it had my username on the label and this was Secret Santa, so I was even more confused! What could it possibly be!
I finally opened the box and I was absolutely astonished at what as in front of me. I honestly didn't even believe it was for me, I never get anything like this! I thought there had to be some mistake. The more I took out of the box the more there was. A backpack full of survival gear, a wooden train model, grilled cheese cookbook, a bartending set, Nintendo Switch, and an Oculus Rift! I was in shock. And at the top of it all was the graphic novel series Snowpiercer and the 2013 movie adaptation.
After laying it all out I finally found the card and the identity of my Santa - Steven Ogg, an actor who is on the TV show adaptation of Snowpiercer, as well The Walking Dead, Westworld, GTA V, etc. It took me several minutes to comprehend that a famous actor just sent got me Christmas gifts. In my first Reddit Secret Santa. I've never met a celebrity before, but I think this tops any selfie I would have taken with one.
2020 was a ridiculous year for me (hot take, I know) and I really was not looking forward to the holidays because I knew I wouldn't get to see anyone given the current situation. I had friends get sick, and one of my parents both had heart surgery and had to fight off Covid. So Christmas day was pretty stressful and just filled with dread (everyone is okay now thankfully).
Waking up to this, though, was the most Christmas Morning feeling I have had in a very long time and I just want to say how grateful I am. I can't wait for my parents to be completely safe so I can show them VR. I am just exuberant right now, and huge thank you to Steven Ogg from your new number one fan haha.
