A list of puns related to "Babysitter Massacre"
Forgot to mention The Glass Staircase
Hello /r/menslib. This is a mostly off the cuff post in response to the Anthony Broadwater situation since I haven't seen anyone talking about it in this space. For those who aren't aware, Anthony Broadwater is a black man who was imprisoned for 16 years after being falsely convicted of the rape of Alice Sebold in 1981. The details of the case and the conviction are covered in this article if you want to learn more. This of course, is not a particularly unique situation. It's only been days since the Groveland 4 had their convictions posthumously overturned. Black men having their lives destroyed by false convictions that are then overturned long after the fact, with little to no actual compensation for the losses has been a consistent historical occurrence.
But I'm not here to talk specifically about these instances, the ones that make it to the news and generate headlines. I want to talk about the underlying perceptions of black men that generate these situations in the first place, and how they have influenced how I learned to navigate the world and my thoughts as a 22 year old black man. I especially want to share how this has shaped my relationship with progressive spaces over the years as well.
On Progressive Spaces and Black Men
In my experience, while progressive spaces are comfortable discussing racism, they often fall short in understanding the gendered elements of it. I suspect it comes from a sort of pseudo-intersectional lens that views social oppression as neatly stacking categories that can basically be ranked neatly. In this view cishet white men are at the top of the social hierarchy, followed by singularly oppressed people such as cishet black men, cishet white women, cis gay men, etc who are then followed by "doubly" oppressed groups like cishet black women, cis lesbian white women, and so on. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this sort of framing of oppression seems rather common in progressive spaces.
When applied to black men this view suggests that, while we certainly are oppressed, that oppression we face is uniquely tied to our race and nothing else. Thus progressive spaces may talk about black issues or black women's issues, but the idea of black men's issues, as being both gendered and racialized issues, are sort of tacitly assumed to be nonexistent or not significant enough to warrant unique consideration. This view is, in my
... keep reading on reddit β‘I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Part I here is a discussion of whatβs actually been provided. Part II will be a discussion of my own personal theories. I did this to keep the info separate.
If youβve been following leaks regularly, little of this will really come as a surprise. Itβs more like I am corralling it in one place.
I think it goes without saying this post will not be sharing evidence. If this means you donβt believe any of itβ¦ well, thatβs on you. Fair, but please do understand that I will not be giving any more spoiler warnings beyond this point. You are continuing at your own risk.
This information is from a combination of multiple sources. There is overlap and I've tried my best to pieve everything together for you.

The Massacre at Hawkins Lab
001/Peter/Vecna are all Jamie Campbell Bower. He is never referred to as βPeterβ is anything Iβve seen and I do not know why this is.
I know this was widely speculated, but I can now confirm that Peter was originally named βAshe.β This means Bower will be in ST5 to some degree.
HNL interiors were at the infamous mystery warehouse location but there was also filming at the actual lab loca
At first, when the four teenagers were murdered out in their cabin in the woods, everyone thought it was just a case of 'wrong place at the wrong time'. Then the summer camp massacre occurred and some people began to think that the person responsible was purposefully choosing these locations.
It was very unusual, other than in movies, for six young camp counsellors to be murdered in such a brutal fashion. I think it was around this time that the media began to dub this killer as the 'Clichè Killer'. His legacy was solidified when the three babysitters were murdered on Halloween night.
I know that most people that resided in my small town believed in the idea of a killer that tried to only kill while using iconic movie tropes, but to me, the whole idea sounded ridiculous. I was of the opinion that they were more an oppurtunist killer that happened to find groups of teenagers, in what just happened to be, famous slasher locations.
Most of the time the victims seemed to be youth, who were alone and vulnerable. I honestly didn't think too much of really and I never thought that I would have to worry about being stalked by the 'Clichè Killer', that thought never crossed my mind. I actually thought that if I attended the party at the abandoned farmhouse, I would actually be safe.
By the night of the party, it had already been two months since the 'Babysitter Murders', and so they were beginning to take a back seat in people's minds. Obviously, the pain of losing friends and, in some cases, family, the pain was still raw, but I think people were starting to heal. I guess that's why there were plans of having a party in the first place. A way to take back our youthful spirit without fear, and without the worry of a killer looming over our heads.
The party itself was only going to be a relativity small shindig, but like most teenage party's, it had the potential to grow out of control. As far as I knew, about twenty-four of us were expected to attend, but I fully expected more than that to show up. It was obvious before we had even conceived the idea of a party that it would be held at the abandoned farmhouse.
That'sΒ where all underage parties in out town are held. It's secluded, its quiet and out of eyesight and earshot of all the locals. I'm convinced that the town police are fully aware of what happens out at the farmhouse, but they are either too busy, or just don't care enough to do anything about it. I guess it's easier to let us young ones have so
