A list of puns related to "Asymptote (vector graphics language)"
I have a project Iβm working on, and lately Iβve found myself in a position where working in vectors would make my life a lot easier. Problem is I donβt have a lot of money set aside for Adobe software, so Iβve been looking around for a cheaper alternative and I was just wondering if anyone could give any pointers so I wonβt have to trial and error my way to the perfect match. I work with an iPad so Iβm limited to apple friendly apps. Any help is of course appreciated.
Is using SVG's in unity an okay approach? Will it affect performance much?
I remember it came out in the 2000s, I think it had a title that began with the letter P, and might've been based on a book
i.e. it doesn't have a subscription like After Effect.
The memory of this has been driving me mad, for years.
I grew up watching NYC-area PBS after school in the late 80s and early 90s - Sesame Street, 3-2-1 Contact, Mr. Rogers, Reading Rainbow were the big 4.
Each of these shows (or sometimes the between show breaks) sometimes included video clips from other external PBS or public domain videos
I am looking for a specific one of these clips that has been stuck in my head for years. It featured primitive 3d video graphics - a pock-marked asteroid rotating in space, some leotard-wearing dancers doing spins and flips that were stop-motion composited and overlayed into new geometric shapes. There was a "Dr who wormhole" -like effect behind these graphics, and perhaps some vector graphics - spinning rectangles or the like.
I'm interested in this because it was the single video that shaped my love of video art, glitch art and the absurd. It was formative.
HELP! TIA!
I have a PDF with lots of vector graphics.
If I convert this to an ePub with JPG/PNG graphics, the ePub ends up being huge.
Is it possible to convert this to an ePub with SVG vector graphics instead that will work on the Kobo?
Hello, I have 2 task for the right person.
The first task involves you going to my website and then based on your observations, create a nice looking logo/favicon to fit into the site. I will expect the logo to be exported as a SVG, which most design tools make pretty easily to do nowadays.
The second task will be to get a few images that are separate and make them into a nice transparent hero image. See https://micromobility.com hero section for the kind of image I am asking for.
I may have a third task too but let's start with these 2.
Pay: $5-20 per task
Please have a portfolio or proof of credibility.
Thanks
Hi everyone,
I'm developing a new kind of vector graphics editor (that is, a program like Inkscape or Adobe Illustrator) whose primary innovation is that paths can share a common border, and that such border can be easily manipulated as one single entity. I have also implemented intuitive sculpting tools to make it super convenient for artists to edit their illustration.
It's hard to describe with words, so you can watch plenty of GIFs here:
https://github.com/dalboris/vpaint
The above link is the source code of VPaint (license Apache 2.0), which I developed during my PhD. Indeed, allowing paths to have shared borders seems quite an obvious feature to have, but neither Inkscape nor even Illustrator can do it, and it's more complicated to implement than it looks due to various topological complications which I detail in my PhD dissertation.
I am now in the process of re-writing the whole thing in order to turn this prototype into a professional application called VGC Illustration. It will still be open source (Apache 2.0) and free to use on Linux, but I am also planning to commercialize licenses for other platforms.
In order to fund the initial development, I have launched a Kickstarter campaign. If you find this work interesting, feel free to have a look at the campaign, there is a video with a few more examples:

Let me know in the comments what you think of this project! Any feedback is greatly appreciated, either about the technology, or about the business model (open source but selling licenses on platforms other than Linux).
