I have been reading up on GIA grading, they only take diamonds that aren't set. So I know I need to find a local place that will remove the stone from it's current setting. In my reading I've seen some places say there are GIA certified jewelers that can grade diamonds in person - is this any worse than sending the stone into GIA itself? If so, would the best option be to have a local place remove it & appraise the stone so I can insure, then ship to GIA?

Hello!
This is very worn down but I'd love to know if anyone has any ideas of what this symbol may relate to! There is a chance it has something to do with freemasonry (due to engraving on inside of ring) but also could be unrelated.
The ring is stamped April 1923 if that means anything.

With a diamond-type shape overlapped on each side by a circle.
The way the shapes overlap, it appears a half-crescent moon shape was formed in the empty space of the circles so maybe the 'diamond' shape in the middle had rounded edges on the left & right instead of points like in my drawing? Or that could just be from the edges softening with time.
However, I am still not able to find anything like that online (maybe it's just decorative random shapes with no correlation to a real symbol??)

So I picked up eggs straight from the farm at the farmers market. Wondering if there will be anything I will notice in them from standard eggs bought at the grocery store in Canada/USA. Will they last less time before going back? Will there be a taste difference? Anything I should be aware of.
