A list of puns related to "Air Combat Command"
I'm reviewing the AS:CE aerospace rules and am trying to wrap my head around if positioning matters at all for air to air combat.
Page 180 states that each aerospace unit places itself on the map with at least 24" of movement ahead and picks an altitude. That makes sense for air to ground attacks.
On page 184 and 185 the rules state that aerospace units always have line of sight and then need to make the engagement roll. If a unit ends up tailing another, does that change the initially declared flight path to reflect that or is it just abstracted out?
For example you have two aerospace units, one on opposite teams. The first picks a path going from right to left on the table and the second picks a path going from left to right (opposite directions). If fighter A wants to make an air to air attack, they roll for engagement and in the end fighter A is now tailing B for a -2 modifier. The rest of the round plays out but at the end phase do they just continue with their originally stated flight paths or does fighter A reposition to be "tailing" fighter B?
Am I over thinking this? Thanks for the help.
