A list of puns related to "Afrika Korps"
Hi team Iβm planning my next project and that will be a DAK force.
Probably a strange request but being a colourblind painter I tend to spend a bit of time beforehand getting my head around a scheme and like to have it all set before I embark. That means Iβm sort of painting by numbers and can enjoy putting the paint down and building the shadows and highlights without taxing my brain and making things up as I go along.
Also Iβve got a whole bunch of citadel bases and layers. Maybe Iβm more comfortable in that system as Iβm familiar with it but can find the Vallejo range a bit overwhelming.
As I understand it the DAK seem to get painted two ways.
Thereβs the early mix/match scheme of lighter green jackets and pants
And then there seems to be a darker khaki green colour for both the pants and jacket.
Am I reading that correctly?
Russian Uniform green seems to be used often.
This sounds mad but could someone sort of describe that colour or give it a real world object equivalent?
Better yet does it have a close cousin in the citadel range?
Thanks all.
Hey guys! Love seeing everyoneβs armyβs on this sub. I already own a British 8th army and looking at getting a Afrika Korps army now. I love the idea of it being very mobile and a fast army. I plan on getting a few kradschutzen motorcycles and what ever else you recommend. Any suggestions on a kickass tank to go along with the army is also greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help guys.
Going to throw this up here on more time with a big price drop.
I'm going back to 28mm and unloading my painted 1/72 scale armies. Painted by me. I'm no professional and there's definitely flaws but they look nice on the table. Mix of a bunch of manufacturers: Italeri, Airfix, Strelets, and more that I cannot recall. Probably enough here for 1500 pts with the right list, but we played mostly 1300 v 1300.

Willing to do partial trades for unpainted Marines or Japanese or 28mm terrain
$100 shipped in the US, but open to offers. Not looking to make a major profit on this; I just want enough to buy back in to 28mm.
Title says it all. I've been out of the loop for a long time, but back then there was talk of porting the CMAK game to the new engine. Anything happening with that?
Figure was primed with Vallejo acrylic Black surface primer. Flesh areas have a base of Vallejo 70845 Sunny Skin tone. Uniform is painted in oils.
The good thing about oils is that pretty much any color you want is available; you just have to mix it up yourself. The bad part is the colors are pretty unique. If I have to remix the Field Grey color later to match, I'll be in trouble. I would really only use this technique for North African subjects. The intense sunlight fades all colors and allows me to get away with mismatched tones and variations. If the next figure has totally different shades, it would still be realistic.
Figure has base colors applied. No work was done on face and I still need to do the detail work on other parts of his uniform.

Hi. I'm thinking about starting playing bolt action. I'm considering either afrika korps or british airborne. What do you think is the suitable choice for a new player? What are the strenghts and weaknesses of these factions?

$130 shipped in the US, but open to offers. I'm honestly not too sure how to price large painted armies so feel free to tell me if this is way too high. Not looking to make a major profit on this; I just want enough to buy back in to 28mm.
