A list of puns related to "Adventure Game Interpreter"
I was wondering if there is an app on android like ScummVM, or RetroArch specifically designed to play Text Based adventure games like Zork, H2G2 or Waystation?
Especially ones that will show the map in Counterfeit Monkey
I'm asking if there is any game on NES that is in a similar vein to Kirby's adventure. kirby's adventure is the only game of its kind I've encountered on NES so I'm wondering if there is a game that is of the same quality. I play on original hardware and I'm looking for a game of any genre. suggestions for other consoles are appreciated too, but primarily NES.
Hey everyone I have this vivid memory of a game I played when I was a kid and only played about the first 5 minutes, liked it, but the dimwit I was back then just wandered off and never bothered playing it again and itβs irritated me for ages
Basically you start off arriving in a space station I think? Then two guards drag you away for questioning and you owe money from what I remember. And err there was a bar in the place you arrive at. My memory is really sketchy so apologies.
Had a beneath a steel sky vibe about it but isnβt it. Even the main protagonist looks a bit like Robert Foster from BASS. Think the mouse clicker was a hand too if thatβs any help. Much appreciated if anyone can find this.
Worked out the design concepts and general gameplay today for the first game on the platform. Adventure Island. You control a party and send them off on adventures. Adventures are smart-contracts that return the loot to the player depending on the dungeon level. https://app.myadventure.games/Adventure-Island.png

Platforms: I'm assuming either pc or ps4/ps5.
Genre: 3rd person, it's probably adventure, I haven't seen any fighting clips, only clips of characters wandering around the terrain.
Estimated year of release: from the art style I think it's probably from the last decade, if not from the last 5 years.
Graphics/art style: very artistic 3d art style, not realistic and not a lot of hard edges. the terrain is just huge sand dunes and the character you play as is covered in fabrics from head to tow (pretty sure their color palette is red but I could be wrong) .
Notable gameplay mechanics: it's sort of a multiplayer game, but it's not meant to be played with other players. you can meet other players in the world but they don't have a username and you can't communicate with them. also every character looks the same. that's the only thing I know about this game.
Other details: I only saw it once or twice in youtube videos, and I can't find those videos again. It looks like a cool game but I don't even know what you do in it.
Something like "number cruncher"
They were an educational adventure games series where you played as a yellow pacman looking guy with limbs. One level you crossed a wooden drawbridge with numbers on it.
Since I can't find anything online I worry this might be an niche Australian game but I recall my Primary school had like 3+ of these games.
I was thinking of making a 3d adventure game that's chill and creates an emotional response from the player but I cant think of a good storyline or what kind of animal or character to use. Can someone give any recommendation or idea please?
Platform(s): PC
Genre: Adventure/RPG
Estimated year of release: Early 2000s
Graphics/art style: Retro - possibly pixelated
Notable characters: Play as a knight I believe - leaving the main town and returning to the king i believe it was.
Notable gameplay mechanics: I believe it was an arrow keys play type game.
Other details: I'll try to provide as much detail I remember but truthfully i only really remember two scenes very vaguely. The POV was overhead, similar to pokemon. The main city where you would return to after each adventure in the forest was I believe kind of squared with a few different kinds of shops and the King where you would get your quests. I believe there was also a store to upgrade your weapons and armour but it may have only been while in the forest. Now I believe there were multiple forest areas to enter from different spots in the town. The one in my memory was the top right of the town and you would enter through and be on a new screen with trees. Truthfully I don't fully remember the gameplay but I know it was a adventure rpg style game. I believe you were a knight helping a king and going into different forests but i could be wrong. I remember having a backpack or inventory as well the gameplay was daytime and i believe quite green from being in theforest. I played it on PC somewhere in 2002-2008 timeframe, around the time gaming sites like miniclip and addictinggames were the go to - I am not much of a gamer mind you but I know it was before online PC gaming became quite popular with things like battle royals. No account was needed nor did the game need to be downloaded.

Genre: Isometric adventure game
Estimated year of release: 1990-ish
Graphics/art style: MS Dos Isometric
Notable characters: I don't know
Notable gameplay mechanics: ability to upgrade robots guns and body (I remember plasma coils and titanium armor)
Other details: each level had their own maps. first several set of missions involved finding failsafes that looked like orbs. cyber-ish style.
I've been working for some years now on a videogame by myself. I don't have experience as a professional game developer.
I know an open world action adventure game was not the best genre to start developing a game, but I would like to make the most barebones version of this kind of game, while still having enough depth for it to be fun to play. But most games I know of this kind have a very large scope (skyrim, breath of the wild) Do you know any game like this but with a very small scope, that I could use as a template or to take ideas from? Or if you would like to know the specifics of my problem right now, you can keep reading.
Right now the problem I have is how to make enemies in open areas, between main objectives, worth killing. The easiest solution would be to have a leveling system, but I would like to avoid the possibility of grinding in my game, I also don't want to add some kind of currency that the enemies drop, since that also would seem as grinding to me, but with extra steps.
I thought about a multiple weapons system, and making the enemies drop their weapons when you kill them, but the thing with that is that once you kill one enemy, there is no reason to kill more, since you already have that weapon. Then I thought about a durability system, but unless I make the durability ridiculously low, like in breath of the wild, this is not much of a solution, since you can just kill one or two enemies and you are set. Also there are two types of attack, ranged and melee, and ranged attacks already work kind of like that, some enemies drop items that you can throw as ranged attacks, these run out and the enemies give a small amount, so you always have a reasons to kill certain enemies, to stack these kind of items. But I would like the ranged and melee attacks to be different in that regard, ranged attacks are safer (since you dont have to be close to the enemy) but you have limited ammo, while the melee attack puts you in danger, but you can always count on it.
So I'm thinking: ranged enemies drop items you can throw, but what do melee enemies drop? or why would you want to kill them? Then I thought about power ups, lets say each melee enemy drops a small amount (1-2) of certain item that when used, increases a bit (like 10%) the damage of your next melee attack, so one or two of those items might not be of much use, but if you want to have a better chance at killing a boss, you might want to stack up on those (you equip that item and every

Notable characters: Girl, lamp.
Notable gameplay mechanics: Moral choices of removing life force
Other details: I remember watching a let's play of this game but cant recall the name. You play a girl who enters this world of living furniture who all are working in a factory? many things are alive and you have a feature where you can remove their living essence and give it to others I think?
