A list of puns related to "Across the Universe (film)"
Our SCP universe has so many unique, interesting elements to it that I think would translate very well to a game like this.
If this sounds interesting to you, add your thoughts in the comments! I'm going to throw some thoughts out here as to how this could work as a game.
Players starting the game could receive a level 0 clearance keycard, and could somehow gain higher-clearance-level keycards over time through the gaining of more experience and knowledge of the Foundation. The keycards could show the players' Operative's name, clearance level, department, personnel class, and Mobile Task Force designation.
There could be a normal player leveling system like most of these games.
I'm debating "skill trees", which could simply be access to more/better technology to help more efficiently Secure SCPs.
There could be teams from which to choose. I'm thinking a few different Mobile Task Force designations would be perfect. And you choose an MTF to join at the beginning of the game.
Due to the sheer ridiculous number of existing SCPs, ones that actually exist in the game could be chosen out of the top 500 upvoted posts on the wiki (Placeholder number.) They could be weighted against newer SCPs as well, as good SCPs that have existed for a long time might always overrule GREAT SCPs that are pretty new.
There could be an SCP Archive (basically a PokΓ©dex) that stores information about Secured SCPs. They could essentially hold a game version of the actual SCP Wiki articles.
The classifications (Safe, Euclid, Keter, et cetera...) could have a large impact on how you go about Securing them, and their rarity/danger level.
I had a silly thought of a battle system between SCPs. I know how ridiculous and out of universe that is. But if they wanted to implement that somehow, my thoughts are that it could be a simulation run by Foundation Operatives with too much time on their hands.
This would be an app, and I think some monetization for a free app is a good thing, which helps the developer keep the game running and updated. Some forms of purchaseable customization goes a long way in some games, while keeping the game from becoming "P2W".
I would assume it would have more of a darker, Ingress style to it, rather than the lighter, whimsical styles of PokΓ©mon Go/Wizards Unite. The SCP universe is dark, and full of terrors.
I don't personally care much for AR in the current state of the technology, and it seems rather gimmicky in most games, s
And I absolutely hated it. Whatβs the general consensus among Beatles fans?
I will now explain. Bulleted points after each statement will break down the proof.
In the commercial at [the very beginning] (http://youtu.be/vO7RxsZpcKc?t=2s), it takes place in the Hades System.
In the Cutlass Encounter at 0:56, this takes place in the Kallis System.
The Star's color matches up with concept art images of the Kallis System.
Lots of dust, asteroids and other celestial bodies that indicate the system is still in its infancy.
And then finally, Stanton. As the Freelancer arrives at its destination at 1:22, the planet shown has an industrialized, musty atmosphere with just about every square kilometer of its surface covered with construction.
What do you guys think? Am I right on the money, or do you believe these systems are somewhere else, or just a fictional mockup?
We were the First 1000. Stories and legends would grow from our arms and our actions, but just then we were nothing - a number. A cohort among cohorts, though we didn't know it yet.
And we were afraid.
We were packed, human chattel, into what looked like gigantic railroad cars. It was cold. Very cold. I could see our collective breath coalescing into something like a cloud far above our heads, illuminated by strips of green light. The scale -- the sheer magnitude of it -- was impressive. Or, if you went by the cries of terror, imposing.
Some of us in the car, myself included, had dealt with the abduction with a closed shock. Others had clustered into groups, nervously debating what had happened; why we were there at all. Still more were wild-eyed, feral, battling for a position with their backs to the wall. It was hysteria.
I certainly didn't blame them. I could hear snippets of conversation -- clearly, what the crowd had been doing during the abduction. A woman had been at her desk, working. She still had her headphones in, cut cleanly around the midpoint of the wire. Another said he had been walking his dog, meekly holding up the neatly bisected end of the leash as his own totem.
A shivering, hollow-looking nude man whispered that he had been having sex with his wife. He seemed to be bleeding. Someone in the crowd gave him their jacket.
I could hear a commotion, just through the crowd. A quiet murmur had built up around a man, smiling and gesticulating at the crowd. I shouldered through the throng to listen.
"...sure that I would die, but I did not, and have not yet, inshallah. Look at the salt in my beard!" He ran his fingers through it and crystals rained to the floor like a hundred tiny beads. "Thick as hail! I have been fishing 30 years and I have never seen that!"
"How long were you out there? Were you afraid?" Someone asked, enraptured.
The fisherman waved a hand. "I have been on the sea for longer, and in worse conditions. There was never a chance!"
The crowd moved in closer to listen to the man. I broke off, searching for... I wasn't sure. Searching for a sense of place, maybe. I squeezed through the tightening knot of people into open space. Most people had gathered into groups of 5 - 15, it looked like. Most conversations were of the type you'd expect: confusion, concern for loved ones, and fear, thick and hot. Fear was out in every shape and form it knew how to be in for the crowd, hanging over us like our breath.
That was the

Here me out
As any fan already knows, the events of the Tate Murders in Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood have been altered. The hippies change their plans and ended up paying the price for it, and (in consequence) Sharon Tate, her unborn child, and all her house guests are(were) saved that night
One interesting detail I finally picked up on is that Abigail Folger (the heiress to the Folgers Coffee Company fortune) was saved that night
I may be making a lot of assumptions but it wouldn't be that far out to assume that afterwards the Polanski's and Abigail may remain good friends after. Also, we could assume - from an earlier scene of Roman drinking French Press coffee - that if she was in charge of the company, she may consider branching into the gourmet coffee market (or run the company down, opening up the market for more lavished brands - but I'm trying to keep this positive)
And this may explain why characters like coffee more and/or have a higher standard for it in the rest of his films
We see it in Reservoir Dogs with Mr. Pink lamenting about not getting enough coffee. Or Lee Donowitz in True Romance being floored by the amount of sugar Clarence is adding to his coffee (as if the lad is ruining it in some way). Or the fact that 2 lowly hitmen (Jules and Jimmy) have any sort of opinion on coffee quality in Pulp Fiction - hell, even Wolf is like "this is some good coffee"
We can also assume that all of these movies take place in the mid-80s to early 90s (definitely after 1969)
And if you notice events earlier in history, folks like John Ruth (from The Hateful Eight) tend to prefer their coffee weaker
Footnote: they've done studies (and unfortunately I can't find the video - I think it's a TedEd) that show while people want to buy coffee labelled as "rich", "strong", "dark", or "bold", they actually tend to prefer drinking weaker, diluted coffee - plus TheOatmeal has an infographic talking about how American GIs watered done espresso coffee, inventing "Americano" (link here: https://theoatmeal.com/comics/coffee )
So it's obvious that coffee history has been changed in Tarantino's "Realer Than Real" Universe. What I'm just asserting is because of Abigail's survival, people now have a higher standard for the coffee they enjoy, especially before robbing a diamond store, or buying cocaine from a wannabe, or hiding a body
Edit: thank you for the silver, dude or dudette
one marine for every thousand men? the set up for some bad ass grimdark grammy bait action scene. cato sicarius 1v1 a ctan shard? a gross exageration of his feats to make the film more memorable. Marneus Calgar beating someone to death with a pylon? actually happened and you cant convince me other wise. please dont take this to seriously though i would love of someone could make this borderline shitpost of a headcanon make sense.
The thing about humans-
well really itβs just-
that some things are contagious
so clearly we must-
(no, not like that!)
(we did the xenobiology due diligence I swear!)
You see! Now theyβre scattered!
My thoughts!
I mean fuck!
Rhyme rhythm and meter all strewn in the muck!
Look sir. They donβt think
when they speak, not before
not during, not after
Itβs like at their core
Itβs just chaos
Itβs got me
Itβs got at least half
Of the rest of the staff
ARE YOU HEARING THIS SHIT?
IT TOOK MILLIONS OF YEARS
FOR OUR BRAINS TO EVOLVE
SUCH SOPHISTICATE EARS
now all is undone
by primitive tongues
that barely can grunt
anyway the guests are all suing for neural damage
I hope youβre happy you cheap oozing chunk of infected cloaca
I never really get the hate towards that song lmao, every time i see a ranked/survivor post of Young Americans that song always sits on the bottom of the list, thus being the worst according to a lot of people. Some of the comments for that song can be really harsh too. Even John Lennon himself said he actually likes this version. I think this is definitely not the worst track on the album personally i'm not a big fan of Can You Hear Me? and Somebody Up There Likes Me, not that they're bad songs, they're just not really my cup of tea, you know what i mean.
TL;DR : the song can be quite catchy and i don't think it's the worst track on Young Americans
This whole timeline is turning into more of a clusterfu*k than the New 52.
I guess it's psychedelic rock/folk but it's very chill and even melancholy. Any recommendations?
Thor had no reason to doubt him, either, given that in Ragnarok, Thor specifically came to Doctor Strange for advice.

I think this'll be a really neat challenge because of all the figurative and colorful language. You don't have to translate it exactly as it is; stuff like "letterbox", "paper cup", "million", specific connotations etc. etc. can be changed to fit your language better. As long is it fits with the general structure and overall meaning, you're cool :)
edit: fixed some lyrics, the lyrics google pulls up aren't quite right
