A list of puns related to "Abductor hallucis muscle"
I've recently had a procedure to remove the damaged tissue in my feet caused by plantar fasciitis. This isn't a cure for PF, but essentially sets me to point 0. I still have very flat feet and want to make sure PF does not return. I also get pain in the abductor hallucis muscle after walking in athletic shoes for a while. So this may be because there isn't enough room in my toe area, or a result of PF and my take care of itself later on (I'm still in the healing process and not walking so I'm not sure).
I have no idea where to go to get the perfect shoes. I'd like athletic shoes and some shoes that I can wear to work. There isn't a specialized shop in my area that I know of, and I'm weary of ordering stuff online if they don't fit right. I guess I could, then return them if they don't work...
Regardless, there are a TON of shoes that claim to be the best for PF.
What are your though on the best shoes?
Edit: I also have custom orthodics.
So last saturday I couldn't lift my foot, and then noticed that I couldn't feel part of it or my ankle. Went to a doc n a box and they diagnosed me with foot drop. My tibialis anterior isn't numb but its weaker than my right one. Can't feel my extensor digitorum longus or extensor hallucis longus, and can't lift my foot, and can barely lift any of the toes.
Theres no pain, and this isn't after any injury, I have no idea what happened.
Anyways I was hoping for a quick appointment but it will have been 9 days after it started when I can finally get a neurologist to look at it. Should I just go to the ER? Could I end up paralyzed if I wait?
After years of making no progress with my foot pain, I finally got a new podiatrist and he told me I don't have plantar fasciitis. The issue is in my FHL tendon, which goes from the big toe to the calf. I just wanted to share this information here in case anyone has similar symptoms. I hope I finally got a correct diagnosis.
I suspected it wasn't plantar fasciitis because most of the pain was in the ball of my foot, and it was definitely associated with my big toe. It's not unheard of for plantar fasciitis to affect the ball of the foot but it's not the most common pain. The podiatrist said my feet are remarkably strong, which is good because it means the exercises I've been doing are working, but on the other hand it means strengthening the muscles isn't helping the pain. The next thing I'm going to try is shockwave therapy.
The podiatrist also recommended voltaren gel, but I'm not sure I should use that because if it works I won't be able to tell if the shockwave therapy is working.
So like a lot of guys, I'm fairly inflexible. Particularly however I've noticed a distinct cramping on the exterior of my right hip. I first noticed this as I ride a motorbike and on longer trips in that posture once in a blue moon my hip would cramp and I'd extend my right leg straight to relieve it. I thought maybe I should exercise the area where I was feeling the cramp using the hip abductor machine. What happens is that I am well within my strength range at 120lb for 16 reps of 5 sets but sets 3 4 5 my right hip will start cramping again. Any ideas?

Hi ladies! I've been having some frustrating issues on the hip abductor machine lately. No matter what weight I set it on, when I attempt so much as 1 rep, the muscles on the side of my legs spasm like crazy - it feels pretty much like a charlie horse where my tensor facia latae are. I've never had this problem before - I used to do hip abduction and adduction as a regular part of my routine a couple months back, then went off of them to focus more on lifting. I'm trying to incorporate them back in, but hip abduction is so excruciating that sometimes I can't even stand up to get off the machine while my muscles are spazzing out. This doesn't happen for any other exercise, not even hip adduction.
Just as background, I always jog a mile for warm up, and my leg machine exercises usually come after squatting. Any advice on how to fix this would be great! I'm tired of having weak hip abductors ]:

Ive noticed that this muscle is much, much larger in my left hand than my right. when i hold my trumpet i hold it with two fingers above the third valve slide and two below. Ive also noticed that that muscle flexes when i do this. Is it just me?
Recently, I have been lunching more when I throw. Both of my abductors are really sore after the game. They are especially sore where the tendon meets the pubic bone.
Does anybody have some good stretches for this before the game?
Also if there is a flexibility exercise for lunges, Im sure it would help me out a lot.
Hey guys! I'm going to be posting these muscle discussions weekly or biweekly(haven't decided yet).
All of us, whether students or old pros could always use some brushing up. I thought this could be a great opportunity to take individual muscles and discuss them.
Some topics could include:
What do you like about this particular muscle? What do you hate?
Do you have any unexpected or interesting ways that you like to work on this muscle?
In what ways do you see this muscle effect a client?
I've decided to go in alphabetical order. I will include origin, insertion and action as well as a picture. Then let the discussions begin!
First up - abductor digiti minimi
Origin: pisiform & tendon of flexor carpi ulnaris
Insertion: medial aspect of the base of proximal phalanx of the 5th digit
may send a slip to the ulnar side of the dorsal expansion
Action: abduct 5th digit (requires pisiform stabilized by FCU)
assists to flex the 5th digit (at McP)
may assist in extension of 5th digit (at IP due to slips to extensor digitorum)

I do wrestling and have a lot of knee problems (4 surgeries in the last 12 months). Any who I did squats for the first time in ages the other day its been three days since the fact and my abductor muscles are still so sore it makes it hard to walk. How ever none of my other muscles are sore at all. I also have a very tight ITB band running down the out side of my leg. Can any one help me out to find out what the correlation is here? I would love some advice on how to get my knees better.
Cheers,
Texmo
So I pulled my groin a couple weeks ago, and have been laying off doing legs in my workouts. I want to be able to get physical activity in nearly every day, and don't want to be limited to just doing upper body exercises. Are there any good cardio options that would not agrivate my groin? I tried using an erg but it involved my groin a little too much.
