A list of puns related to "Aaron Dessner"
Im sure most of us have seen over the last month or so this strange hate of Jack Antonoff (imo its just overexposure, he's done too much in too short of a time) and I keep seeing people say "he did the production on Evermore and Folklore and now is doing Lorde/Lana/Etc.,".... but... i feel like that's just not true, Jack did lend his amazing skills to Folkmore, but most of the producing was done by Aaron and when Jack does appear he's co-working with Taylor, so where has this narrative come from that Jack did 100% of the production for Folkmore??.
By no means am I trying to demean the work anyone did on these albums, I adore their work, I'm just seeing this weird thing on Twitter where people think Jack did all the work on Taylor's recent albums and I dont understand it seeing as it seems Aaron was behind more production than Jack, but I never see Aaron's name brought up, plus dont even get me started on the sexist undertones of giving a man credit for Taylor's album, its her work at the end of the day and I hate that all these women's albums are being given the title of "Jack's work". (once again, no hate to Jack/Aaron/Taylor i just feel like the fandom/Twitter is being weird about giving credit to people, I love them all <3)
I've only noticed this recently and I think it is strange that Taylor does not have any production credits on folklore songs made by Aaron Dessner. This is the same on evermore with the exception of champagne problems, no body no crime, and evermore. She only has production credits on ones with Jack Antonoff. Does anybody know why that is?
I think he might have mentioned this in one of his songs, but Iβm not sure. Does anybody know?
Title pretty much says it all! I'm the guy who talked to Aaron a little over two years ago. Since then a lot has happened, and many of you have got to know him for his absolutely amazing and breathtaking work on folklore and evermore. Well, as luck would have it, I got to talk to him again, and I figured some of you would be interested in it. You can listen to the interview by clicking here. (quick note, the first minute or so are the hosts introducing me, and then me talking)
It's somewhat in Danish however, as I work for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. But his bits are left in English of course. If you don't feel like listening to that - or want the whole unedited interview - I've transcribed it for you below.

[Andy]: First off Aaron, itβs been almost two years since you and I last spoke. Since then a lot has happened and the world as face an epidemic. During this time where most of us hunkered down and watched Netflix, you produced not one, but two surprise albums with Taylor Swift. Prior to this you were already an acclaimed producer, but what did it give you to work with a name like Taylor Swift? During a pandemic even?
[Aaron]: I never expected that to happen. I was sitting at dinner one night in upstate New York where my wife Stine and I live with our kids, then I got a text from Taylor saying βwould you ever consider collaborating remotely?β And then I sent her music and it happened really quickly, we just wrote, and wrote and wrote, and suddenly we finished folklore and then evermore. I never expected anything like that to happen, but I realize looking back, that maybe I had been preparing myself because of the way that I work. I often work by myself and I have a studio at home, and we live in the countryside, and in a way we were well-suited or situated to be in a situation where we were isolated and I could work remotely. Finally The National wasnβt on tour because weβd toured off and on for 20 years, and suddenly being at home and not having to go somewhere I realized could be more prolific and create a lot of music. It was a wild year and a half.
[Andy]: Besides your work with Swift, youβve produced more than a dozen albums, including for The National, Frightened Rabbit and Ben Howard. How does your role as a producer change from project to project? How do you approach each album differently?
