A list of puns related to "3Dconnexion"
Anyone use a 3D mouse to control the camera for cinematic? If so, how did you set it up? Can the camera be effectively detached from the player, or is it permanently glued to us? Got any tricks for making nice smooth footage?
Turning off tilt in the 3Dconnextion Houdini prefs doesn't stop the horizon from tilting, Maya has its own 'lock horizon' option, which Houdini does not.
Been something I look into trying to do once a month, make a bit more progress in researching it, but then generally am too busy to continue to play with the idea.
I'd love to be able to lift my DS4/5, hold or tap a toggle mapped input and be able to twist and invert my controller as if I'm translating that motion into a CAD model's physical orientation in relation to the camera's resulting view of it (or vice-versa as rotating the camera is the actual way it happens, but is a less human way of describing this). The goal is to have it operate with the precision of the airmouse setup - so 1:1 rotation translation.
I'd appreciate any tips, tricks or any confirmation on whether its even possible to emulate 3dconnexion's spacemouse in this manner.
does anyone know how to fix this? i tried downloading both the tdxflash and beta driver but can't seem to get it to work. the mouse works fine when i run bootcamp on my mac

This would be perfect as it is meant for precise control in 3D space with all 6 degrees of freedom? Developers or enthusiasts?

I have an old 3dconnexion cadmouse. It worked fine for a time then it started double-clicking on the left mouse button.
I got a new cherry switch and soldered it in. The switch works fine now.
The issue I have now that it's back together is it tracks backwards and all jerky. Down is up, left is right.
There's not much to it, what happened? I don't see how I could have put it back together wrong???
I'm wondering how easy it is to switch between receivers on different computers if I buy an extra wireless receiver. Would I have to re-pair the mouse each time or is it easy to switch between them?
Hi there guys, I didn't know where else to ask this and I assume at least a few of you would have experience with the old Spacepilot (from 2010-2013 ish). I just got myself one secondhand a few days back and I've been enjoying it. However, I'm trying to find out if there's anyway to modify it to work with non-supported software. For example, I want to try and use it to manipulate the timeline in DaVinci Resolve.
I've just gotten their archived software to work somewhat properly on Windows 10 (running it in compatibility mode) but programs don't seem to recognize it at all. All I can think of is using something like vJoy to use it like some sort of joystick - but I wanted to ask first if anyone knows a better way.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with the Spacemouse in combination with Horizon. In itself, everything works very well with the help of USB redirection. Also the driver specific settings works also fine.
But this device has some keys ("Shift", "ESC", "CTRL") and these keys don't work during redirection, but when redirection is not active the "keyboard keys" are functional, but then the other functions stop working.
The mouse has in the DeviceManager two devices with the same DeviceID: One as USB\DeviceID and the other HID\DeviceID.
I defined the DeviceID as "Included" via GPO, both devices are then passed through.
I can't use the USB-Split function because there is only one interface shown in the HorizonLog.
So my question: is it possible to passthrough only the USB device forwarding and the HID device active on the client or is this the completely wrong approach?

Thank you in advance!
Does anyone have one of these mice? I use CAD maybe 15-20+ hours a week for work and classes. Is there any real benefit to using them? does it really improve your workflow?
What about any experiences with the space explorer/navigator.
Thanks!
New to 3D modeling. Been using Fusion 360 for a couple of weeks. Decided to dip my feet into FreeCAD.
Right off the bat the 3DConnexion mouse seems to be working properly. It is recognized and inputs are read....perfect.
But - the motion of the model is completely unintuitive. That is in Fusion 360 the turning of the knob always rotates the model parallel to the floor, no matter how the object is oriented.
In FreeCAD, the turning of knob seems to only turn the object parallel to the floor from the object's perspective. So if the object is rotated 90 degrees, its floor is my wall!!
This gets out of control really really fast where I have lost complete control over how the object is rotating.
In short, for those who use FreeCAD and have used Fusion 360 with the 3D mouse, do they work the same?
If so, then there is something definitely wrong with my settings.
Has anybody found a good solution to the drifting problems with 3d-mice/navigators from 3dconnexion?
I have a space navigator that I have used for about 4 years, but it has suddenly started drifting so badly that I can no longer use Inventor when it is plugged in. It's so bad I can't click my models or anything. I have tried everything the manufacturer has suggested. Fresh install, new drivers, and other ways of cheating the problem, but nothing works.
Is the only option to buy a new one? Are there any good alternatives to 3dconnexion?
I just got mine and can't seem to figure out good settings to make the naviation intuitive. I'm still learning how to use it, but I picked up the navigation in the 3DConnexion viewer pretty quickly, and would like to basically emulate that.
In Metashape, it seems like navigation is all done around the nav gizmo, and you're kinda just flying that around.
Any suggestions?
I'm curious if anyone in the community knows of a github rep or other source for any WIP plugin development for getting proper 3D mouse support inside Painter.
I know next to nothing about coding / plugin development, but wouldn't mind looking into what's necessary for making such a plugin as a learning opportunity. I have no illusions of how much time it could take, but I'm a curious fool.
Has anyone tried to use of these for starcitizen?

Spaceballs and Spacepilots used to have a function where you could take your hand off the joystick and zero it so parts don't drift on the screen. It was either a button or a mouse click in the GUI. Did they quietly take it away?
Win10, spacepilot pro, Solidworks 2015: There's something weird going on with mine where the USB cuts in and out and if you're touching the joystick at the wrong time it calibrates wrong. Also some of my custom buttons are working, others not. I have to unplug it and re-start the driver to fix it.
If you use a spacemouse or cadmouse you need 3DWare to even click the CADMouse (another topic for another day) but the latest version of 3Dware stops Big Sur from booting. Only way to get it past a full progress bar hanging is to delete the extension from safe mode or (in my case) my main Catalina boot/ volume.
This may be applicable for other extension so if you are getting boot hang, try removing your latest kext extensions in library/extensions.
