A list of puns related to "250 City Road"
A week ago or so I posted about asking about charge times and questions about real world highway efficiency as I needed to take an approximate 250 mile trip. After some reassurance I went ahead and went for it and here's the results.
I started with 100% battery and given where available Chademo chargers were I had to stop earlier than I would've liked at the 60 mile mark and then again at the 170 mile mark, both charging stations were run by Electrify America.
I pulled into the first stop and my nightmare came true! There was only 1 Chademo charger and despite the app showing it was available, I could not get it to initiate charging. I called their customer service line and it took about 20 minutes to reboot the machine after which charging went smoothly. Kudos for excellent customer support here, though it would be nice if they had automated diagnostics running to notify them when a charger is having issues and address before a customer is in need. I charged from 69% to 89% in 23 minutes which cost me $4.01.
I then embarked on the 110 miles to the next charger. I wanted to try and take this trip like I would in an ICE where the limit is 75 MPH and I would typically average around 80. I was able to sustain those speeds most of the trip but started getting a little nervous about 20 miles out and slowed to 65. I pulled into the 2nd charger with 19% battery left, so not much need to worry but I wanted to keep 40-50 miles of range just in case this charger wasn't working due to my experience at the last charger as the next available one was ~30 miles down the highway. I didn't want to stop again and needed a bit of a residual charge for when I arrived as I would only immediately have trickle charging available so I charged all the way to 92% taking 55 minutes costing $8.77 and drove the final 80 miles arriving at my final destination with 30% charge. Why 92? According to the charger that's when the charging speed dropped below 30. There are many reports the speed drops after hitting 80 and indeed the max reported speed here was 62. In this session, my first significant charge from the lowest point my battery has been since purchasing, the slow charging part was at the beginning of the session where the first 10-15 minutes was ramping up the charge speed. If it hadn't already been nearly an hour I would've let it run until it dropped below 20.
Thoughts on the trip...

The green party government of Hannover, Germany, declared a couple of roads in the city as "bicycle-roads", meaning bikes can ride next to each other, cars have to respect bikes and can't overtake. Long term target is reducing car traffic in the city and prioritizing bikes, busses, etc.
A judge didn't agree that a residential area road was made into such bicycle-road and sued the city on the grounds that this particularly street doesn't give any advantage to the bikes compared to a normal road, since in any case it's not large enough for two bikes next to each other when a car is coming down the other way. The intention was to close the bicycle-road, because he stand that bikes are higher up in the hirachy than cars.
The court sided with the plaintiff's arguments, who now hoped that the bicycle-road became a "normal", car prioritizing, street again.
The city also agreed with the plaintiff, but instead of closing the bike-road, they're removing the parking spaces on the side of the road to make enough space for the bikes.
Green party is very happy, liberal party said "if you vote green, you have to accept to live in a green dictatorship."
TL;dr: Person complains about bike-road and asks for it to be removed. City removes parking space instead to make even more room for bikes to the disadvantage of cars. We now live in a dictatorship (apparently).
Hello everyone!
I'm following the project very closely, and 1 hour ago they announced that a millionaire business angel supports the project! He added 15 ETH in liquidity!

Thatβs it. Thatβs the rant.
Is any other rainy city as difficult to drive in as ours?

My husband and I have been working really hard to avoid adding to our debt after paying off all of the debt we had last year. We are getting by each week with a couple dollars to spare, but so far we have only had to carry a balance of $250 or so on my credit card due to me needing new eye glasses recently. I'm proud of that, It's taken so much sweat and tears for us to get here. I stress about us staying with our heads above water all the time, I don't want to go back to how it was. And so of course I'm driving down the road today going to my eye doctor, and all of a sudden there is a broken tree branch smashing the car in front of me and then bouncing up and crashing down on top of my car next. It smashed my headlight out, luckily it missed my windshield and I was able to maintain control of the car. But the fact that a tree branch was just dangling over the road off of a fence, smashing cars as it gets knocked around, is infuriating. I keep trying to think "it could have been worse", because it really could have been, but I just want to scream and cry and kick because now I need to buy a new headlight and I don't have any way to do that but put it on my credit card. It's like every time I am able to take a breath I feel like I get yanked back under the waters surface.
Game will be broadcast by Altitude crew
Kudos to u/protagonist23 for the mobile pic hack
Just putting that out there. Here's where I drove midnight to 6am: https://imgur.com/a/w0YwURJ. Again, I encountered no ice.
I have never seen it this bad for this length of time. Major intersections and roadways with no gravel or melting agents down causing serious safety hazards for other vehicles and pedestrians.
Contrast with the road on the TsuuTβina to Costco where they have actually put down sand and salt. Embarrassing that the City of Calgary with all of its resources canβt or wonβt do the bare minimum to keep our roadways safe.
Please post all post-race responses and congratulatory remarks in this thread rather than creating a separate post to avoid a bulk of repeated information in the subreddit.
