A list of puns related to "1970 In Games"
https://www.facebook.com/WaStateArchives/posts/1241049736086504 - I hope this link works as it shows the actual documents, along with a charming statue of our dear Bigfoot.
In December 1970, a movement was βafootβ to get the Washington State Game Commission to classify the Sasquatch a game animal and therefore under the protection of the State Game Department. And whatβs more, the Northwest League for the Protection of the Sasquatch was also seeking federal regulation to save Bigfoot. The director of the League was Richard Lancefield, an assistant attorney general with the State Board Against Discrimination, who thought it was time somebody stood up for the rights of Sasquatch. βRecent reports indicate the encroachment of civilization threatens the continued existence of the Sasquatch,β said Lancefield. βOne danger, which we have not faced, is that how we might deal with the problem of a wounded Sasquatch in need of medical attention. We are concerned that a Sasquatch might die needlessly through no one individual, simply because there was no pre-arranged plan in existence for treating such a heavy and, possibly, unwilling patient.β
A game where you would make one of the biggest heists ever. You would have your group of 4 people. It would start as a prequel, explaining the characters, their backstory, motive, smaller jobs and then onto the heist, missions of mapping terrain, checking airfield. And one night it would begin. Then it would map like "1AM" "2AM" etc. During the night a lot would happen. Then you would escape and third act would be your escape from the forces, in the woods, on the river, mountains, relying on each-other, save money you stole, on the way you'd meet some other people. Both good and bad. And then each of the different characters would get their ending. Good or bad? That depends :)
just something that ran into my mind while i was listening to 70s funk right now, so i wanted to write it here

Super Pest, Cracklin' Rosie, Suitcase, Steamer and the Franchise. We'll travel back to the times of the Pacific Coliseum - the characters and leaders and biggest games, and what we wore, listened to and danced to cheering on our Vancouver Canucks.
Totally weird request, but I'll explain. The Lakers wiped the Hawks out in 4 in the '70 WCF, but the significant part of that specific game is what the Hawks' coach did. The coach was Richie Guerin, a HOFer whose peak years were late-50's/early-60's (he originally retired in '67), but he inserted himself into the game due to his team's PG (Walt Hazard) being out hurt, and in Game 4 he scored 31 points. He sporadically played in 9 games that entire year, never topping 5 pts before that Game 4.
What's weirder about him having a huge game at 37, 3 years after his initial retirement, is that he shot & made a long set-shot in the game. This is believed to be the last set-shot ever made & taken in an NBA game, and I'm curious if any collectors have this game/video. I know video of the game exists due to a short clip from the game I saw on YouTube.
This is more of an interesting-to-know post. The NFL has seen several announcing crews, some legendary (hello Pat Summerall and John Madden, the 80s and 90s were good), some we wish we could erase from memory (hello Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, sometimes I wish my favorite team, the 49ers, played in the AFC just so we could avoid their annoying commentary since FOX has kissed their butts for what feels like an ongoing eternity). Out of curiosity, I wanted to make a list of each announcing crews in NFL playoffs history and what games they've called. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find consistent data pre 1970, so we're just gonna start there.
