A list of puns related to "100 Gecs"
Theyβre pretty popular in my local punk scene
Hi guys Iβve just barely started getting into production and sound design and would like to know how to go about making the synth in this video ? Thanks so much
i am currently a 100 gecs fan and would not use such a term. however i would like to know if any such words exist in the event i turn evil and malevolent. thank you <3
Just noticed on Spotify it says SeeYouSpaceCowboy will be joining 100 gecs for the upcoming Canadian Tour Dates. Was this already announced? That's wild and I hope they will join the EU tour as well.
Particularly from the Pod/Pure Guava era, with the chipmunk vocals, the earrape, and the fact that they're two people, just like Ween was at the time. The Ween influences seem to be strongest in their song "I Need Help Immediately",which isn't as much of a song as it is a mishmash of samples from whatever software they were using to help make their beats. The "please do something" vocals definitely remind me of Pod/Guava-era Ween,as well as the overall energy of the track. Don't believe me,hear it for yourselves.

Ok even I have to admit that is pretty epic.
no explanation I just need it.
im just rly happy :) (there would be here a pic of us at the 100 gecs show if they came to where we live)
Someone posted this question and then deleted it, but I thought it was pretty interesting! I want to hear everyone's opinion of Gec and why they enjoy them. I'll start!
To answer why I personally like 100 gecs....It's different. I grew up listening to a lot. Everything from J-Pop, to vocaloid, to country, a TON OF PUNK ROCK and rock and roll. Dubstep. Grindcore. Now I'm approaching 30 next year and while I still continue to listen to the same bands growing up, 100 Gecs hits different. Their beats are catchy. Laura and Dylan are so full of life. Their energy radiates positivity. It brings a different atmosphere in an otherwise scary world we're living in right now.
For me itd have to be bloodstains.
I (25 F) surprised my fiancΓ© (28 M) with tickets to the 100 gecs show in San Diego. We are both excited, but keep joking we will probably feel old there since we are expecting a younger fan base. I was curious about how the turn out to other shows have been? Even if we are the old people in the crowd, we are ready to go have fun tomorrow!
Change my mind.
I have been enjoying 100 gecs a lot recently and wanted more of that type of music. i listened to some other hyperpop but didn't really like it, any recs that sound like 100 gecs? (I just love Dylan's production)
I have really admired some of the work both Dylan and Laura have done for many years and I really want to get into their music as a group. I like some of the Laura singles and I'm curious is there any songs I can listen to to get into this? It's just they've really made a big impact on the Hyperpop community and genre and I really wanna join the fandom and get into them.
I've been somewhat fascinated with these folks lately, as their music seems to take every idea of what makes "good" audio engineering and almost turn it on it's head with overly distorted bits and over auto tuned stuff
But oddly, they do it in a way that, IMO, sort of reinvents the idea of what is acceptable in eh, "pop" music ?
Fascinating stuff from an engineering perspective anyway, was wondering what others here thought of the genre/audio production techniques?
Is this a real band? If so, what are they trying to say musically? Serious answers only.
Particularly from the Pod/Pure Guava era of Ween, where they used similarly pitched up vocals. Matter of fact, the overall energy of the eras was the same, down to the fact that they're two people, just like Ween was back in those days. The Ween influences shine brightest in the track "I Need Help Immediately", particularly with the "please do something voice. Don't believe me? Listen to these two songs and compare them.
