I saw a video on YouTube where a psychologist said that Zelig is a classic representation of someone with Schizoid Personality Disorder. It seemed more like Avoidant Personality Disorder to me, as he was very concerned with being liked by others and had sexual and romantic interest for women (and not just in the sense of fantasy). But who am I to argue with a psychologist?
It definitely exaggerates traits to a comical level, but it's obvious that the film isn't meant to be interpreted literally, but rather as a metaphor for something. Whether it be about a personality disorder, or a comment on Jewish identity.
I'd say it's a 6/10 film, but I recommend it to people who either have SPD, AvPD or are interested in the topic.

Hey! Does anyone have the screenplay for Zelig (1983) by Woody Allen? Because it's a pseudo-documentary, I'm very intrigued to see how it was written. I know there's a very slim chance of anyone having the screenplay, but I thought I'd ask anyway....
