A list of puns related to "Water Chiller"
I ordered the BrewBuilt IceMaster 2 from my LHBS 2 months ago and it finally came in yesterday. Last night I went through the startup procedure which involved filling the tank with water, putting return loops on the pumps, setting the temp controllers to 2ΒΊC and watching for the chiller to do its thing while making sure there are no leaks. The only problem is that, not only was the chiller not cooling the water in the reservoir, it appeared to actually be heating it up.
It got late so I just turned the whole thing off and went to bed. I thought that maybe the chiller was just failing to chill and the temp of the reservoir was increasing because of my hot garage. So this morning I turned it on again (reservoir temp now stabilized). At that time the reservoir temp read 24.3ΒΊC. I checked it again 2 hours later it was up to 30.8ΒΊC.
So I feel pretty confident now that it is actually heating up the reservoir water. I've verified the readings with both the pump temperature sensors and my Thermapen digital thermometer. The copper coils aren't cool to the touch at all.
Has anyone else experienced this with their chillers? If so, was there an easy fix? I sent an email to BrewBuilt/MoreFlavor last night and am still waiting on a response. I'm really hoping that this is something that I can fix easily, but I'm not optimistic that will be the case.
Obviously I'm feeling pretty discouraged after waiting that long for the thing to be DOA.
Iβve been told if I could put it on a good load/head pressure it will fill the separator within minutes but I canβt clear the fault from returning before starting. This is a startup after being on free cooling since October for winter here in UP, Michigan. Iβm sure it was in a low load in October. I need to get this running this week for process water for 2 research buildings. Any tricks or tips would be greatly appreciated if anyone has stumbled onto something similar. 2 years Hvacr tech and my senior just retired so I donβt have any support anymore π and now Iβm taking over his chillers. I tried a trick he told me was to jumper the sensor on top of the oil separator. πthat didnβt work.
Plus any recommendations on how to help prevent from reoccurring would be helpful. Iβve got more data from the log sheets at work I should have taken a picture for more info on how it was running last year. I just donβt have it on hand at the moment.
Iβm sure this is a shot in the dark but what the hell.π»

I want to make a small pond and since it's hot where I live I want to get one to cool down the pond does anyone know any good water chillers I could get.
I need help with figuring out exactly which water chiller I need to purchase. I have a blue omtech 80W dual h2o laser engraver. Will the CW-5202 dual inlet/outlet be sufficient to run my engraver? Thanks in advance!
The design temperature, say is 6 deg C leaving, and 14 deg C return. But the actual return is only 12 deg C. Flowrate as per design. How do we interpolate the refrigeration tonnage I get now to prove that it can still produce the design tonnage? Currently, is not possible to have the return temperature at 14 deg C. Is there any formulae to calculate?
Hey team water,
I know this is wild.
Considering this: Buying a chiller on Alibaba, putting it in a box, placing it in my office closet and running tubing to my PC. I guess about 10β away. I could keep the chiller and PC at the same height.
Context: I have a dual rad custom loop ncase m1 v6 setup with a 10900k and a 2080ti. I use the iceman external pump res. I can hear the pump a bit even when not at full speed and the fans go to max under load and I can hear them too. They are the high-end noctua silent fans.
I want a completely silent, sff, overclocked build just because. Might even go smaller like with the new Louque case about to come out.
The pc is 3β away from my head and I want it to stay there.
I like tinkering.
I use a ddc pump: EKWB EK-XTOP DDC 3.2 PWM Elite (incl. Pump), Acetal https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0166QIDUA

Started using irrigation. Absolute game changer. Keeping reservoir temps in check has been the biggest battle so far. What do you do? Thanks.
Hi!
I have a grow tent in a small space. I need to cooldown my rdwc water. I have ~50gal to cooldown.
I need something quiet and that generate as less heat as possible. Programmable so it doesn't run 24/24.
I am thinking about a 1/4 hp, I am looking at the ecoplus 1/4 chiller or the Active aqua chiller 1/4.
Any recommandations on which one to use? or maybe another one?
Have a great day, be safe, stay away from Covid!
