Hubby and I were looking into buying our first home. We have our eye set on the new Barratt Home development near Chalkers Rise in Peacehaven. However, we noticed that there is a huge wastewater treatment plant located very close to this development.
I know it is located underground and it is relatively new, but has anyone living in Peacehaven noticed any issue with it?

Ive been looking for a house in this area and generally curious how bad the area smells during the summer? Ive driven by on i-10 and Prince and it seems to be pretty smelly sometimes. Should I avoid?
Thereβs a billion movies and shows about cops and hospitals. Is there anything about wastewater plants? Itβs not the most interesting topic but I imagine something has to exist.
The only thing at the top of my head is Law and Order was an opening when a body was dumped into an aeration tank. Then they talked about some process which was neat.
I was thinking even about Undercover boss or Dirty Jobs if maybe thereβs an episode or something about wastewater plants
I live pretty far from the treatment plant, but when the wind has blown in a particular direction we've certainly smelled the results of the loss of the trickling systems and whatever new process they are using to handle the sewage.
I feel for any poor souls who live nearby. How has your experience been? Also do we have any idea about the environmental impacts of this damage - will we be pumping semi-raw sewage right into the estuary/ocean?
We drove around the area and I was surprised to see the power plant next to houses then I saw the big tanks for the wastewater treatment plant. I know there's a landfill along Fiddyment which was in the news some years ago but not much recent complaints in the internet. How much of a nuisance are those facilities to daily life? Is there less complaints because people got used to their situation or there really isn't any problem there at all? I'm also worried about the proximity to schools... Anyway, I just want to get input from the locals. Thanks!
Does anyone know what the construction a little bit south of the wastewater treatment plant off the Jordan River Parkway is?
