A list of puns related to "Violet Gray"
I'm colorblind, heck

on a 1992 XJ and installing a remote start, when I was splicing my wires I noticed that there was a Yellow/Violet wire and Gray/White wire that were connected to the ignition harness along with the Orange and Purple wire that I needed for my remote start module. These wires were snipped(probably by the previous owner?), I would like to reconnect them but have no idea where they go to or what they do.

This is a follow up to my earlier question about cooking bitter boletes (violet grey in my case):
Since I was 100% sure of the ID and did the eat at little + wait 24hr test, I decided to experiment with cooking these bitter fungi. I gathered a few more, and decided to follow the very general spirit of the Vietnamese bitter bolete soup (from Hue) described in this article: https://lanhue.com/nam-tram-bitter-bolete-and-how-to-cook-it/
I followed the described saltwater soak > boiling > draining procedure to reduce the bitterness. I drained them, sliced them thinly, then sauteed with minced garlic and shallots before adding some white and black pepper, and then some chicken stock.
The author used sweet potato leaves, which I do like and can get, but it was easier for me to forage some amaranth at a nearby nature park and pick some jute leaves (aka saluyot, lalo, molokhiya, ewedu, etc.) from my garden. I seasoned with two kinds of fish sauce: regular fish sauce a Viet brand) and some bagoong isda, a northern Filipino unfiltered fish sauce that's less salty but is a bit more complex and funky. I then added about 1 tsp lime juice for some acidity to balance. Stirred in some Thai basil (for sweetness), and topped with some thinly sliced raw onion.
On its own, the soup tasted great to me in the same way that a good bittermelon side (not main) dish would taste. Predominantly bitter, yet still balanced and supported by other flavors. The mushrooms had that wonderful meaty bolete texture, and the bitterness was dispersed throughout the broth.
Regarding pairing: my experience, bitter dishes in SEA cuisine are generally paired with something rich, a bit salty, and/or meaty, like grilled or fried seafood or meat (especially pork). Some crispy fried pork belly from the local Laotian restaurant or Puerto Rican deli would have been perfect, but I didnβt think of this ahead of time. Since I wanted neither to make the trek nor pay for delivery, I ordered some unsauced ("naked") fried chicken wings from a local pizza place with free delivery. It was a WONDERFUL pairing, especially when eating the wings with sriracha, which contributed heat, sweetness, and acidity.
TL;DR, bitter boletes can be made into quite a tasty dish, especially if you like bitter foods and a

Somewhere I still have a box with all the discontinued colors. I bought it right after they announced the change.
