A list of puns related to "Viewing Angle"
Hi all,
I recent bought the dji fpv goggles and wanted to know if it's normal or not. When I put on the goggles, I feel i have to "look upwards" to view the center of the screen. Is this normal or I just have a weirdly shaped forehead? It feels like of the headset's bumper on the top should be a bit bigger to force the goggles to be more inline with my natural viewing angle.
Just wondering if that's something that's normal..or not..or i need to just get use to it..? I was thinking about taping a piece of foam on the top side to change the angle. I also used a cheaper set of quadcopter goggles (EV800) and it didn't have the issue.
Thanks
I'm replacing a 10+ year old Sony 46" HD LED TV (KDL-46NX710) with the 65" Sony X90J XR. I've heard the viewing angle "isn't great" on this model, but that's a relative thing in my situation. My question is - would the viewing angle be better or worse than my old TV (that did advertise a pretty wide viewing angle for it's day, but back then I think viewing angle was "yes or no" ). If the viewing angle on the X90J is at least as good as our old one we're good, if not the Mrs will kill me π€£ Anybody got any thoughts on this?
I donβt know if Iβm imagining this but my new paperwhite (11th Gen) looks like it has a lower contrast and a narrower viewing angle than my 2013 paperwhite because of the raised screen. Does anyone else feel this way? For some reason the PW11 looks more blurry to me even though I know itβs twice the resolution of my old kindle with the sunken screen.
Love the dark mode though.
I do not recall ever seeing anything like this on my previous display but on this one (LG 27UP600) it is pretty apparent and is very noticeable when viewing dark content at an angle, but not light content.
Tried googling and couldnβt find a reason why, only that they do, curious to know what the answer is
I like screens with a wide viewing angle, and that don't change their brightness when you tilt the screen up or down. I was in Best Buy last week, and the 2020 15" Omen (EN1008) was the best I'd ever seen. When you moved the lid up or down, the whites didn't go "grey" or "less white" like on most other laptops. It was almost like an image had been painted on, although perhaps that's a bit of an exaggeration. (I think it might even be better than my 18-year-old Samsung 172T desktop monitor, which I use as a reference.)
My question is: do all the Omen laptops have screens that nice, in that particular way? I ask because I'd rather have a 17" than a 15", and the HP Canadian website has a deal on the 17" CK0010 until Monday. The Best Buys here don't stock the 17" -- they only stock the 2021 16", and none of the stores have one on display.
I've read a whole bunch of reviews, and watched another bunch of YouTube reviews. None of them mention this particular aspect of the screen. Except, finally, I found one that shows it on the 15". From about 5:59 to 6:03 here, the reviewer moves the screen the way I'm describing, and it looks as nice in the video as it did in real life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKjZsyh03Mc&t=359s
Other gaming laptops in the store weren't even close. A lot of them seemed to be backlit with two separate LEDs, or something, because when you moved the lid, it would go from brighter to dimmer, then brighter again. Drives me nuts. The nearest best was a Victus (D0008, I think?) but it really wasn't in the same league. Even the OLEDs had that OLED rainbowing effect at different angles.
I guess I'd want to know if they use the exact same panel from the exact same supplier, and the HP website is going to tell me that. So any reviews that mention that aspect, or videos that have that same "tilt the lid" demo with some white on the screen, would be helpful.
Thanks in advance! I'm going to go back and watch those 5 seconds of that video a few more times, and continue to lust after that screen.

Hey all. Would really appreciate some feedback. Hisense u78g 55". Slightly off angle and whites/skin tones shift to pink. When on a pure white screen, moving off centre shows the same pink. Compared side-by-side with Sony x90j which does not have these shifts at all (and according to Rtings has worse off angle shifts than u7g). Pink tint also seems to turn blacks to a slight purple off angle. Anyone else have these problems? Could it be a bad batch of panels? Would appreciate any comments...
Any, recommendations? Don't really wanna spend too much more than Β£700
I'm new here, so I'm sorry for anything that should be written here but isn't yet.
We had a Philips OLED 55POS9002 TV since 2017, but it got heavily annoying burn-ins, so we searched for a new TV. We wanted Ambilight, ~55", no OLED anymore, because I fear this will happen again, so LED, preferably 100/120Hz frame rate. That's what lead me to buy a Philips LED 55PUS9206/12. It has an awesome image, but I noticed that the viewing angles decrease the color saturation heavily. Being at 0Β° and 3m away from the panel, taking only one step to the side decreases the color saturation very noticable. Since our living room has no two opposite free walls we placed TV and couch on two adjacent walls perpendicular to each other, so we mainly watch TV from the side and this is a relevant viewing angle decreasing the image quality. I find this very annoying and I think about returning the TV and buying a different one. I didn't tell my wife yet to not unsettle her about it. I want to have a solution first.
I just researched and found out, that this TV has a VA panel and that VA panels are prone to bad viewing angles. IPS panels are much better in this category. However I find it pretty hard to search for TVs with an IPS panel because this information seems to be listed very rarely and even comparison search websites don't have a panel filter for TVs. That's why I'm writing here.
Can you suggest me any TV with the following properties?
Ambilight, >=55", no OLED, IPS panel (good viewing angles)
Or can you suggest me any method to search for what I seek?
Hiya everyone, so I decided to finally get a second screen and ended up with an LG27GL850-B because it was a decent price at Micro Center and because I wanted an IPS display for when I do photo edits.
My other monitor is a Dell S2716DG which is a TN panel. Having them next to each other, I notice that on the LG there's always some form weirdness as if I'm looking at it from an angle even though I'm not. Whereas with my Dell this does not happen. They're both at the same angle/height/brightness more or less. This also happens if I view from any angles. My dell looks exactly as if I'm looking at it head on whereas the LG has that weirdness to it.
Is this normal for an IPS display? I thought they were for superior viewing angles but it seems like my Dell has the edge in that department. Seems easier on the eyes.
Monitor works great otherwise, no issues, both are plugged in with DP into my 3070ti. This is day 3 with it so I still got time to exchange if it ends up being defective. Hopefully it's an IPS thing I'm not used to seeing.
Thank you!
Having bought 2 monitors recently (AG241QX, AOC24GW) after upgrading from a 1080p 60hz monitor and the resolution gained and hz feels amazing but looks like a nightmare now to have a just good looking monitor without bad details you can notice and a good picture.
So whenever there's a white background and I'm not holding it perfectly straight a very noticeable rainbow color shift appears. It's kinda bad compared to my s9 which had perfect viewing angles no matter much I tilted it. Is this happening to anyone else?
