A list of puns related to "Thangal Kunju Musaliar College Of Engineering"
All this as per VTU instructions apparently. Principal sent out a mail to everyone stating this. How do I escalate this further?
EDIT - seems like this is VTU specific. Please tweet regarding this, and send a mail to comm@bbmp.gov.in to investigate the matter for your respective college. VTU will burn in hell someday.

I just received my decision back for my application into Engineering at College Station, unfortunately, I was not accepted into College station. However, they offered me Engineering at Galveston, McAllen, and Blinn (TEAB). Which of these schools would provide the easiest route into Engineering at College Station?
Basically, there are tons of colleges in Chennai, Tiruvallur and kanchipuram districts where they have imposed rules like
Boys and girls are not allowed to talk, else have to face HOD. Sometimes they might get a slap. Sometimes they might call their parents. Sometimes threaten them with TC (all these things depends)
Nobody should bring their own vehicle. Only college buses has to be availed even if the student is 2 kms away from the college. So bus fees has to be paid compulsorily.
Not shaving or cutting the hair properly means a fine of Rs.500
Sometimes the staff there can check the student's whatsapp chats/social media handles and asks to delete them or threaten to call their parents if they are in a relationship.
No bringing outside food.
Strictly formal dresses and for girls, it is strictly chudidhar. Casual shirts or T shirts can impose a fine/don't allow inside the campus.
Appointing disciplinary staffs who would monitor the students all the time whether opposite genders are talking to each other, hair cut is fine, dresscode is fine etc and he may use violence as a force.
My friend even said that bags were checked in the buses since mobile phones were strictly not allowed.
Also, these aren't minority institutions (although some of them follow these). These are all colleges handled by Benamis of politicians. Most Engineering colleges in Chennai (Except Anna University, SSN, VIT, IIT etc) are doing like this.
Is this even legal?
Hello young friends! Good on you for planning for the future at such a young age.
So as the title suggests, I'm an Army veteran and civil engineer (specializing in structures) and work for the world's largest public works agency. I have a bachelor's and a master's in civil engineering as well as a master's in engineering management. I'm also a licensed Professional Engineer.
I've worked a variety of very cool jobs including a year-long stint as park engineer for a national park in Arizona. I also work alongside different disciplines within engineering (mechanical, electrical, etc.) so I have a good idea of what they do.
Ask away.
Is it the classes? The professors? The advisors? As someone who almost applied as a ChemE major I'm just curious.
My Classes for Next Semester:
AP Human Geography
Pre-AP English
Enriched Biology
Precalc
US History
Chinese 1
My Classes for senior year:
AP Calc BC
AP Chemistry or AP Biology
AP Computer Science Principles
AP Micro/Macro Economics
US literature
World literature or Public Speaking
My Extracurricular Activities:
Science Bowl
Math Team
It says on the College of Engineering website that
> Students who have earned at least 60 credits on the University of WisconsinβMadison campus and whose total cumulative GPA is in the top 5 percent of the College graduating class will receive the designation βGraduated With Highest Distinction,β or if in the next 15 percent, βGraduated with Distinction.β The appropriate designation is entered as a permanent record on the studentβs transcript.
Anyone know the approximate cutoffs for GPA that this typically follows each year? I would expect it to be a little higher for the next few semesters as students were more likely to pass/fail a course with the disruptive grading option available.
my_qualifications:
10th(ICSE): 96%
12th(HSC): 92%
MHT-CET: 95.1 percentile
I have currently taken admission in VIT Vellore in Computer Science Engineering with Specialization in Data Science, coz those folks started the admission way before. The MHT-CET results came out and I have half decent marks and looking at the first institutional round of D.J Sanghvi, I might be able to get a computer related branch there. I am really liking the exposure and opportunities that are available at VIT Vellore but what I don't like is the unnecessary and strict burden of assignments, quizzes and exams. The workload is just too much to be able to have enough time for learning our own stuff or actually take advantage of the exposure and take part in competitions and seminars.
Placements are not very important to me since I wish to go to masters abroad anyways. I need to have a 9+ cgpa in my undergrad to get into good universities abroad, doing that in vit is quite a challenge since the marking is relative and the workload is a lot so you have to constantly stay way above the average and moreover people don't help you with notes or anything too because the marking is relative. I really despise that grading system and then add to that the overcrowding and the overwhelming competition to get into clubs like GDSC. As bitter as these facts are, the opportunities are quite sweet, you get to meet people doing different stuff and gain knowledge about that, you get to learn about various fields in seminars and take part in interesting competitions.
Now, coming to my other choice, DJ Sanghvi, it's an autonomous college affiliated with Mumbai University and I am told that maintaining a 9+ cgpa is relatively very easy since the marking is absolute and the workload is not a lot as compared to vit. So I know a guy who was at vit vellore for the first few months and then for the afore mentioned reasons, left vit and joined DJ Sanghvi and is in third year now. He told me that DJ Sanghvi has equally good clubs and chapters but has an edge over vit in this aspect since the number of people is less so it's easier to get into these clubs as compared to vit, I don't know how true this is so it would be great if someone can confirm this point. I will get more free time to study and do courses about topics that actually matter and time to take part in a lot competitions and hackathons. On top of this, since I am from Mumbai, I will get to stay at home.
So from a masters abroad point of

FYI im studying CS in college .
why does everyone else get what they want in life. why am i the only one whose life sucks . Everyone in my class got a good college and branch, Im the only one who didnt get my dream college.
FUCK MY LIFE
Hey besties.
So I was scrolling online and saw the the College of Engineering at Cornell requires students to take at least one year of Physics prior to graduating high school. At my school, in my grade in particular, there was a loophole in which my school could cut high school Physics out for us. Normally, each class would take Physics at one point or another before graduating high school. Since I am a dual credit student, I tried to take a Physics course at my local community college, but I couldn't because I wasn't allowed to take more than a certain number of hours a semester. I had to reserve those hours for the classes required for high school and to get an Associate's Degree. Furthermore, the only Physics course offered at that time took place late at night. At this point, I couldn't really drive myself there because I didn't have my license yet.
I could take Physics this semester, but then I'd have to unenroll from my Calculus Two course because they take place at the same time.
I would take it at another campus, but my school has this deal with the cc that we are only allowed to take classes at the campus assigned to us. As of right now, the campus near me is only offering two sections for Physics (because enrollment is down due to COVID or something) - one of them being a class where all the seats are full and the other almost being entirely full but conflicting with the time of my Calculus Two class.
Although Cornell only requires one calculus class, I could unenroll from my Calculus Two class and take Physics instead. However, I really don't want to unenroll from my Calc 2 class. The professor who taught me Calc 1 is also teaching this specific section of Calc 2, and I really like the way she presents the information to me. She's one of the best math instructors I've ever had and I don't want to lose the opportunity to learn in her class -- especially since I'm graduating this semester.
So, am I screwed over? Is it even worth applying? Honestly I should've looked earlier and contacted the admission reps before the deadline, but I was so busy making sure that my transcripts went over that I completely forgot about that. Should I still apply anyways and explain my situation? I really want to know because I don't want to waste money on the app when it's going to be thrown straight in the trash pile because I don't meet one of the requirements.
Or should I just apply under a different major that doesn't require Physics?
Edit: One of th

Hii, i have taken admission in Bharati Vidyapeeth College of engineering, Pune (first year, engineering). I'm looking for college-mates. If you are a BVUCOEP student please let me know. Even if you are a SENIOR please let me know

It would be better to know a few people from college beforehand than directly going to college with everyone being unknown. Thanks
my_qualifications -
MHT CET : 95.35 %ile
JEE Main : 86.33 %ile
After the jee mains results I had taken admission into CSE in Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology (RAIT) ,Nerul as my marks weren't very good and this was the only good college i was getting. But in MHT CET I have some chances of getting a good college. Right now I am getting admission in CE in Vidyalayankar Institute of Technology (VIT) through institute level seats and also AI and DS Fr. Agnel bandra through CAP round 1. But I live in thane and bandra is too far for daily travel and VIT is also kind of far so I'm confused as to take VIT or continue in RAIT. Please help.
Just wanted to hear an overview from the people of Kerala.
So basically i took admission in a priv college in attingal for btech. Me and my dad went to the college to pay the fees and when we inquired about phone usage the dude was like "well we have a lanline" like bro. I know phones are allowed inside the hostel but are they actually strict about it even inside the hostel?
EDIT: There are no restrictions here!
I have to fill my cap option form today and I am confused whether I should put ai, data science or plain cse at the top of my list. I got 96 percentage in polytechnic (going for a direct second year seat). What should I go for?
If anyone switched from CoE to CAS, how did that go? Was is worth it?
I'm a freshman CoE persuing CS but all the requirements are starting to get annoying because I haven't been able to get them. Because of this I'll probably have to take some classes in the summer or next year just to catch up. But I also heard there are still a lot of requirements in CAS. I'd rather just be where I can major in CS with out my required courses pulling down my GPA, which is what is happening to me in CoE.
Hello, Iβm currently declared as a first year Chemical Engineering student. I was recently contemplating in the idea to switching to MechE or the MatSci EECS joint major. I have a pretty high GPA right now and was wondering if I could have a case to switch into the college of engineering. Moreover, the courses I took last semester and this semester complement very nicely with the majors I listed above. Is it possible to switch into the CoE for these majors?
Any input would be great!
My high school class was only 100 people and took 2 hours. I canβt imagine how long this one will be.
Hey guys - this has been asked before but the places listed in the comment don't have the sweatshirts anymore. I was hoping to get my dad a College of Engineering sweatshirt for Christmas but I can't seem to find any, I tried College Traditions and Buckeye Corner.
Anyone have any clue? (online works too)
I applied to the Honors college, but am not sure if I will get in. If I am rejected, can I apply again but to a different school, probably the school of engineering or science and liberal arts as long as I do it before the regular decision deadline?
