A list of puns related to "Teachta Dála"
It didn't last long cause he died in 1922, but for me the real kicker was that at the time he won both elections, he was sitting in jail

Statement from the Inter-Parliamentary Task Force to Promote Palestinian Human Rights
>As legislators from North America and Europe, we strongly condemn the Israeli government’s latest attack on Palestinian civil society. On October 19th, Israel designated six important civil society organizations (CSOs) as “terrorist organizations,” a move which is intended to criminalize and eliminate Palestinian advocacy, and to intimidate the international community into cancelling their funding and partnership ties. In addition to the catastrophic effect that this attack is likely to have on the ability of CSOs to continue their critical human rights work, we are also deeply concerned about threats that this poses to the personal rights and safety of their employees and volunteers.
>
>This is a critical moment for the international community. It is imperative that we respond forcefully to Israel’s criminalization of Palestinian civil society. We urge our governments to listen to the demands from Palestinian CSOs, and use all available means to end Israel’s impunity and hold authorities accountable for their egregious attacks on civil society and human rights defenders.
>
>This latest crisis further demonstrates the importance of advancing legislative initiatives which can stop governments from funding the violations of Palestinian human rights under Israeli occupation. One important initiative is H.R. 2590, the Defending the Human Rights of Palestinian Children and Families Living Under Israeli Military Occupation Act, which was introduced by Congresswoman Betty McCollum to the United States House of Representatives. This legislation would ban the US from funding Israeli practices including: 1) the military detention of Palestinian children; 2) the demolition of Palestinian homes and property; and 3) the further annexation of Palestinian land in violation of international law.
>
>We encourage the urgent adoption of this legislation by the United States, and commit to seeking out ways to adopt these principles in our respective legislatures. Concrete measures of accountability are necessary to ensure that no more public money is used to subsidize Israel’s ongoing oppression of Palestinians.

>##Oisín McAlbain Announces Plans to Run for Teachta Dála in Dáil Éireann, Possible Bid for Sinn Féin Taoiseach Candidate
>By Rodger O'Donnelly
>Oisín McAlbain, one of the crewmembers on the McLachlan Exploration Co.'s two-decade-long voyage to Tír fo Thuinn, as well as its reported discoverer, and brother to current Taoiseach Fionn McAlbain (SF), has announced a campaign to be elected as a Teachta Dála to the Dáil Éireann, hoping to catch a nomination from the Sinn Féin party. McAlbain is already very nearly a household name across the Republic, due to his massively successful novel, The Voyage of the Sídhe and Its Crew: An Unbelievable and True Tale. In the world of politics, his name is widely known due to his relation to the current Taoiseach and Uachtarán, as well as several members of the Sinn Féin party, both currently and historically.
>In a sweeping campaign, the younger McAlbain (despite his youthful appearance, an effect of the voyage, as is claimed, Oisín McAlbain is forty-one) has outlined several policies, many in-line with already existing Sinn Féin polic

Today on February 8th, 2020 there is a general election in the Republic of Ireland to elect members to the lower house and principal chamber of the Irish Parliament, the Dáil Éireann.
##History & Background:
Since Ireland gained independence in 1922, politics has been dominated by two major parties, Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael. These parties see their origins in the Irish Civil War (1922-23) when the Sinn Féin party split over the terms of the Anglo-Irish Treaty, which ended the Irish War of Independence (1919-21). These two parties have led every government since independence.
In the 2011 election, in the shadow of the financial crisis of 2007-08, of which Ireland was hit particularly hard with a domestic banking crisis and recession, the ruling Fianna Fáil government collapsed from 71 seats to 20, suffering the worst electoral defeat in the history of the State, with Fine Gael sweeping the polls to become the largest party, in addition to substantial gains for the Labour Party and Sinn Féin. A coalition government between Fine Gael and Labour was formed.
In the 2016 election, Fine Gael kept its position as the largest party, but went from 66 seats to 50. It's coalition partner, Labour, collapsed from 37 seats to 7. Fianna Fáil recovered to become the second largest party, going from 21 seats to 44, while Sinn Féin made strong gains, going from 14 seats to 23. A minority government was formed by a coalition of Fine Gael and a number of Independents, supported by a confidence and supply agreement with Fianna Fáil. Then in June 2017, Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) Enda Kenny stood down and was replaced by Leo Varadkar, with his competitor for the position Simon Coveney becoming Tánaiste (Deputy Prime Minister).
##Voting System:
In Ireland, the constitution mandates that an election must be held at least every seven years, while statue law has reduced this number to five years. The country is divided into 39 districts that elect 3, 4 or 5 TD's (Teachta Dála; equivalent to Member of Parliament (MP) or Member of Congress), with the constitution mandating one TD must represent no less than 20,000 people, but no more than 30,000 people. The Dáil consists of 160 TD's, in thi

Civ Ability: Emerald Isle Grassland tiles have +1 appeal. +25% Tourism to Civs that share your founded religion as majority. Access to Priory and Monastery.
Unique District: Priory Replaces the Holy Site. Grants Great Prophet Points equal to the adjacency bonus, rather than just +1
Unique Building: Monastery Replaces the Temple. Grants +2 Great Artist Points per turn, has a slot for one Great work of writing, and all Great Works of Writing provide +2 Faith.
Leader 1: St Patrick Capital: Dun Patraic
Leader Ability: Insular Christianity Unfriendly, denounced, and at war Nations receive double pressure from your founded religion. Civs sharing your religion gain +5 opinion towards you. Whenever one of your units takes damage in your territory, gain faith equal to half the damage taken.
Leader 2: Michael Collins Capital: Dublin
Leader Ability: Teachta Dála Occupied Cities founded by Ireland suffer -5 Loyalty per turn, and flip immediately back to Ireland if lost to Loyalty. +100% Diplomatic favour for 5 turns after signing peace, and +1 Diplomatic Favour to trade routes to Civs that are dominated by your Culture. The Neutralise Governor Spy ability is 50% faster.
Ireland is a robust Religious Civ with the ability to pivot into other win conditions in the lategame. The Priory rewards good placement by allowing you to pick up a Great Prophet quickly, after which the points give extra faith. Monks copy out religious texts in the Monastery, granting an extra source of culture as well as faith for all Great Works of writing. Finally, the hills and fields of Ireland are a perfect place for conservation and proof of the majesty of the divine, sure to be visited by the many others you'll have inducted into your faith.
Ireland's first option for leader is St Patrick. Famous for converting the Pagan Irish who would go on to convert the very Anglo-saxons that first forced him from his home, Patrick has a talent for converting hostile peoples and thus making them a little less hostile. Defending your realm provides a boost to faith, as the people are inspired to hold on to their views. This provides obvious boosts toward the religious victory, but that extra faith and pressure can convert to Tourism later.
Ireland's second option is Michael Collins, the father of modern guerilla warfare turned voice for peace. His insurgents constantly rail against foreign occupation, swiftly removing Imperialist administrators. Gaining peace grants fervor for more democra

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies 😂
It really does, I swear!

Pilot on me!!
Nothing, he was gladiator.
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
When I got home, they were still there.
What did 0 say to 8 ?

So What did 3 say to 8 ?
