What exactly was all of this about? The two girls were happy going around murdering people but at the conclusion of the show they're crying? Apparently had the same birthdays and ages in the same area and the astrological/cosmetic times impacted them but why would that make them into murderous people, happy to do so but then crying together in a corner at the conclusion of the episode? This whole episode got me confused lol does anyone know?
"Night slipped into day...day into night."
If you haven't been paying attention to the changes between night, day, and time in Part 2, I strongly encourage you to do so. I was watching Magic Mirror last night, and noticed an immediate segue between this episode and SYZYGY, and I'm working on uncovering some more connections, but here are some things I've discovered so far.
The first thing I noticed was the date and time on Buck's cell phone. May 19th, 9:58pm.

This is at night. It lasts from the meeting at Chloe's house until Buck wakes up Steve and tells him he saw Rachel in his mirror. The next morning, it is May 20th.
Buck's mother insists he finish packing all his things, because they're moving in 2 days.
Later that night on May 20th, the boys meet with BBA, and the next day, May 21st, they pick up the mirror from Goodwill. This again lasts until night at the church. For whatever reason, the time doesn't display on French's phone prior to his hookup with CuriousIncident (the man's Grindr username), but it does show up again on Jesse's phone.
The time is now 10:12pm.

The next time we see the time is on the clock in CuriousIncident's apartment. 11:31pm. (As an aside, take note of the hunting knives and the mounted deer head in his apartment, which mean he's likely a hunter, though I'm struggling to come up with any connections to Hap...could be a coincidence*.*)

The next day is May 22nd, at which point the C5 meet at Lily's house and Rachel appears.
Why are these events leading up to May 22nd important? Because a celestial event occurred starting on May 21st 2016 leading into the 22nd. It was the second full moon of that month, more commonly known as a blue moon.
The phrase 'once in a blue moon' seems rather apt here, given everyone's seemingly random behaviors that night. And May 22nd? Mars was at opposition, rising at sunset, which meant it was the brightest planet in the sky.
This is immediately referenced in the events that follow.

A preliminary to the Magick of Love:
Have you noticed that when two people are in love, both really know the other on the most intuitive level? They share the same sensibilities, make the same or similar choices about a lot things and seem to know what the other is thinking. So as much as they enjoy each other's genitals, they also enjoy each other's mind at the opposite polar end. And then of course, in the middle, their hearts open up to each other, as if to engulf them into one corporate being.
So the male feeds energy to the female at the genital level; infusing her with power (all power given)...the initial energy or bud will. But this energy must circulate and it's at the polar opposite end, the third-eye (where sits the pituitary gland) that the female transmits the energy, formulated and shaped into a vision, back to the male. And it's this third-eye where vision takes place, as we think in pictures and translate those into words for the intellect and the emotions to comprehend; each in their own way.
The pituitary gland also generates all the secretions of the entire endocrine system; some directly and some that make other glands fire for themselves. And of course at the opposite end are the glands connected with the genitals. So vision is translated into energy, which again, the male feeds to the woman.
This is the work of the Gnostic syzygy.

I believe the Pyramid ships, and not the Traveler, caused the God-wave that threatened to annihilate all the species on Fundament. Think about it!
In the lore book Last Days on Kraken Mare, Mia (the PoV character and golden-age scientist) observes that "Her moon is squashing":

Now let's look at the description of the God-wave given in the Books of Sorrow:

See the similarities? However one was caused by the Darkness' arrival in the Solar System while the other was caused by the Traveler's interference with Fundament's moons. But that doesn't sound like the Traveler, does it?
The Leviathan encountered deep in Fundament's core described the Sky (and by extension the Traveler) as "gentle":

โThe Sky treasures this rich place++
Why, if she really did treasure Fundament, would the Traveler (wittingly or unwittingly) cause the destruction of its peoples? Because she didn't.
The only proof we have that the Traveler caused the syzygy is from the Worm Gods themselves:

Now you could argue that the syzygy would have happened anyway; that the Traveler's presence simply sped up the moon's course and caused the God-wave early. After all, the Osmium King warned Aurash or the syzygy before any mention of the Traveler in the Books of Sorrow.

I double-checked the files on sesse.net and all the mirrors and alternate download sites I could find and they all are the same (both by md5sum and by file size). I find it odd that some of the files are empty as well. I tried the olympus chess tracker as well and it appears to no longer work.
Given that these files have existed since 2013, it makes me wonder what everyone else is doing with Syzygy out there? I know you can buy USB sticks containing Syzygy and that Endgame Turbo uses them. I wonder if the files are correct for those?
Can anyone else confirm these files are corrupted and point me to a better download? Or is the better answer just to bite the bullet and download the tools to generate my own, which I was trying to avoid?

"THEY'RE CHILD'S BONES!!!" Rewatched this episode last night and couldnt help draw comparisons from the town's mob to modern day social media crusaders. The look of disappointment on Scully's face as the mob shouts and points blame prematurely always cracks me up. Feel like we're all making that face a lot lately. Also honourable mention to @VancityReynolds whoop
Andra had never expected to be a teacher. Well, not really. Sure, she had taught people things before, how to fix a ship. How to plot a nav-path. She even taught two of the girls who lived under her dirty little flat on Asteroid Base 42 how to throw a punch when she found out they were having trouble with some of the local flavor form the shipyards.
But teaching a whole class of the galaxyโs most powerful psionics how to fight an alien race? Well, she supposed that wasnโt exactly anybodyโs first guess.
โReach for each other,โ she told her class of almost thirty psionics, all telepaths with strong telekinesis for the moment, and all of them powerful enough to reach between solar systems when they needed to. They were in groups of two and three, all syzygy-linked, and used to working together. It made things easier. Andra might know how to fight the alien queens, but she didnโt know much about basic telepathy except what Cygnus taught her on the fly. โYouโre all comfortable with your bonds, so you shouldnโt have too much trouble finding your bond and getting a good, firm grasp on it from both ends.โ
She was glad that she and Cygnus spent hours on the ship to Blood Star base working out how to explain what they did, and how to do it. She wasnโt used to the language needed, and he, by virtue of being the Blood Starโs leader, was needed elsewhere.
Which left Andra in the odd, uncomfortable position of teaching everyone how to do the trick she had discovered to defend her own mind. To think that she had started this whole adventure as a nobody Edge mechanic with a dirty, broken old ship and a laughing telepath making jokes about space dust in the manifold.
Things had changed, just a little, since then.
โYouโre used to thinking of your bond as a single road between you,โ she continued, pacing through the crowd. There was a podium, but she couldnโt bring herself to use it. It felt too much like playing at being someone she wasnโt. โBut itโs not. You arenโt the same person, so your bond is actually made of more than one thread. Yours, and those of your partner.โ
She could feel her own bond with Cygnus now, the sharp-edged silver of his mind, woven with the deep bronze of her own. He was working with another group, trying to find more syzygy bonds. They had some, but they would need more, a lot more, for the coming fight. The call had already gone out through the galaxy, and everyone with even a pinch of psi-sensitivity was gathering to try and help.

Found "The Syzygy Oracle" by accident. It's a book and they also have a card deck. I haven't read the book but the images on the cards remind me so much of the images and other little details we see throughout the show. Do a quick google image search on it and you'll see what I'm talking about.
The alignment of three celestial bodies is a SYZYGY. The cinematography of this episode creates a visual alignment between Karim, OA and Old Night. Some people think it is the alignment of Nina, Prairie and OA.
NB - The wall where Karim is hiding is blue, yellow and red. This aligns with Brits notebook comments about SYZYGY
