A list of puns related to "Super Mario 64"
I'm going to come back to this sub just this once to bring awareness to a really big issue. And while this isn't specifically connected to SMG4, this is something that affects everybody making content even remotely similar to it. There's a 14 year old named bonmario who has been infamous in the machinima community for a long time for constantly harassing other users. This week, however, he went the extra mile. He created fake companies named BonMario inc and bonluigi and submitted them into YouTube's automated systems. And he's using them to falsely copyright strike Mario 64 machinimas of all kinds, the biggest example being the Who Let The Chomp Out rebloopered collab. This has resulted in multiple channel terminations and the surviving channels privatizing their entire catalogs of work. Here's a list of tweets from a handful of victims I know.

This guy has also falsely accused people of being pedophiles, claims he owns the rights to his Mario recolor, and doxes people's addresses. Here's another tweet for more info.

I'm sharing this here because YouTube is (naturally) doing jack squat to help the issue with their automated corporate responses. I'm watching my friends left and right getting their channels and motivation destroyed because of the abuse of the system, and none of them are big enough to get a human being's attention. You wanna talk about "literally 1984"? This is that. So please, if you care about machinimists beyond just SMG4, help me get YouTube's attention in anyway you can, if not for yourselves, than at least for my friends. Thank you.
UPDATE 12/25/21: One of the machinimists has reached
... keep reading on reddit β‘I just wanted to thank NL for the absolutely awesome Mario streams. Theyβre so good that even though Iβm never home when itβs live, Iβll actively go and watch the whole vod when I get home.
So, I decided to boot up Mario 64 today. 10 minutes in and I'm pissed off. Why? The game has not aged well at all. I can get past the blocky models and flat, low detail textures. They have their own charm to them. But the gameplay is clunky and repetitive. Mario moves like a fucking tank, and it's incredibly unresponsive. I don't know how speedrunners make the controls look like Mario Odyssey's perfect controls. The camera is abysmal, and has a mind of it's own. The depth perception, whilst not the worst I've seen in a game, has still fucked me over more than once. And, a lot of the tasks are repetitive as fuck, with no clear directions on what you're supposed to do or where you're supposed to go in the later levels. I get that the point is to explore and use the hint in the mission title, but Mario Sunshine did this way better honestly. I had no trouble figuring out where to go in that game. And if you screw up and die, the game sends you back to the castle, making the concept of extra lives completely pointless.
Honestly, I get that this game is a product of its time, but people need to stop acting as if this game is still fun. It's not. It's tedious, clunky, and repetitive. How the hell does one play Mario 64 and Sonic Adventure in the same day, and come to the conclusion that Mario 64 aged better out of the two? You have to be pretty far up Nintendo's ass to believe that. I have no trouble playing Sonic Adventure, because the game just controls better and doesn't feel janky in the slightest.
I wanted to play super mario 64 for a really long time now but I have no idea how to play it.
Did you guys emulate the game or do you have N64?
I've been loving your SM64 content and realise you don't have a lot of spare time on and off stream to research some of the alternate things chat is telling you about, so I clipped parts of a previously held world record run of all stars and converted them into individual clips for you to easily see and reference.
The run used in these clips is Cheese's 128 Star run

New stars you haven't tried yet
Whomp's Fortress - Pole Star
> You'll be hating chat for not telling you about this one, quick easy and right at the start.

Cool, Cool Mountain - Slide Star

Bowser 1 - Red Coins
> Honestly probably not worth doing but chat brought this one up a bunch

Now for some faster, harder methods of some stars you already do!
Bomb-omb's Battlefield - Chain Chomp
> I don't know how this one works lol

I'm planning to potentially extend this project, but I don't know how long to make the extension. For those interested or still interested in the project, can you give me a general timeframe that works for you? That way, I can plan and extend it accordingly.
Instruments still needed:
-Clarinet(1,2)
-Timpani
-Drum Set

To wholeheartedly believe 64 DS is the superior version of 64 and I'll explain why. One of the reasons is that the graphics and textures are better, while this isn't as important as my future points it's still a plus. A second reason is because it has more levels and bosses. A third reason is because it has minigames, they are simple but fun, definitely a plus. A fourth reason is because it has yoshi, wario, mario and luigi. You get 4 different characters to play as while the original only has mario. Finally, it's portable which is always convenient, though technically you can say that the original is portable through laptop or 3D all stars. The only disadvantage that the DS version has is the controls, but that can easily be fixed with using a 3DS or using an emulator.
