A list of puns related to "Strong Acid"
I'm kinda trying composting in place, but have a bit of a concern. The setup is a wire tower (it's just a bit of mesh rolled up) stuck directly in a pot between two plants. I've been adding small amounts of food waste and shredded newspaper into the tower which so far so good, but have been a little hesitant about filling it up because I don't know how the plants will tolerate the leachate. Compost makes organic acids during the early stages of decomp, right? D'you think it'll burn the plant roots? Anyone have any experience?
I know that there are fundamental differences between acids and bases (acids being proton donors and bases being proton acceptors, among other things), but something I have recently started to wonder is if there is a noticeable difference in how strong acids and strong bases interact with objects of a more neutral pH. Would corrosion from an acidic substance differ from the corrosion caused by a basic substance for instance?
A problem in my textbook asked which one these acids is strong:
H2SO4 or H2CO3. I read that it's supposed to be H2SO4, but why? How am I supposed to know that, is it just memorisation? Or can we tell something by the chemical formula?
Hey there,
Im sure there is many like me who panic and come here, but i really am not having mild panic anymore, it's getting too much to handle, so until i can finally get a doc's appointment (covid makes it hard to get one currently) i thought i could at least hear some calming words - possibly.
Short-ish history: I've had stronger issues with heartburn, acid-reflux and such for about 4 years now. I didn't simply ignore it - i first tried to make it go away by using sodium bicarbonate, which helped a little but ultimately not anymore for the first year. Then i used pantropazole for 2 years (20 mg per day), which is a PPI surpresser most of you probably know. It certainly made the symptoms go away 90% but i knew it was still there, just not feeling it as much.
Finally i decided to not take it anymore and instead focus on eating better, drinking less alcohol, and taking various supplements that a nutrionist recommended to me and finally, i'm feeling a lot better than ever, with even the meals or drinks that used to immediatly flare me up, not being remotely hard on me anymore.
Let it be noted, that im quite a heavy smoker (about 20 cigs a day) and also had a drinking problem throughout those 4 years (roughly 40 units of alcohol per week), which im now trying to quit as well. Also my life in those years was very stressful, which is luckily finally slowing down as well.
I have never felt better regarding the symptoms, but it could also just be a the beginning of a worse stage, where the symptos disappear (barret syndrome) as i've read (which i clearly have done way too much). Anyways, i've definitely decided that i want this checked out NOW, even if it's so late into the thing.
How high are the chances of this actually being something that can't be fixed anymore? Like esophageal cancer? Especially worried about the lump-like thing that sometimes prevents me from swallowing food down more easily behind my chest. Could that just be a stricture? I'm 28 by the way and im totally feeling stupid for all of it and don't want to wait longer, but i really am getting scared..
I bought 220g powder from a site called andean world.
Not sure if I'm enthusiastic over a 220g dose yet. I might start at 110g. I don't want another hellish dmt trip lol
I spilled the extract. Thing is a spilled a little before that but it was only a little then i spilled all of it. Might be a sign.
In one of my chemistry exams, a solution of HCOOH is given a pH of 2.73, which should mean it is a strong acid as it falls under the 0-3 pH range. However, because it is an organic compound it is automatically a weak acid and not a strong acid (the only three strong acids we need to remember at this point are HCl, H2SO4 and HNO3). Why is this? I don't understand why the solution is still a weak acid despite having a low enough pH. Why is it that the fact that it is an organic molecule trump it's pH number? How does this work structurally?
The question was on how the solution ionizes in water, so the answer was wanting you to find out whether the solution would partially or completely dissociate in water (partial = weak acid/base, complete = strong acid/base)
By the way, I am learning at the high school level (roughly translates to "junior" year by American standards) so the question may be incorrect when looking from higher levels.
title. the acid has also been sitting in a plastic baggie in a box for a few months. should i just drop all 4? i want noticeable effects but dont wanna project out of my body lol
also have dxm but have never done it by itself, but was thinking of mixing
suggestions?
Iβve been using TO 10% mandelic acid for a month, my skin feels good overall but Iβve still got roughly the same number of clogged pores/blackheads. I had maybe a week that could possibly have been a purge but honestly not much to report, might have also just been coincidence.
Iβve been using it per the instructions once a day, would using it twice a day help? Iβm not having any sensitivity issues at all, itβs super gentle on my skin. Like, incredibly gentle.
How long should I give it before moving to something stronger? Should I go to twice a day?
If I replace it, what with? Itβs my first time with chemical exfoliation and Iβm a bit lost
I played this game a lot with my dad when I was about 7 (2006-2007). We had to play as a quite a muscular man, there was a factory we had to traverse through, there was even green colored acid that could kill and that you had to avoid. It also had a subway train, inside quite a dimly lit area. You could not sit in the train. Finally, it also had space, in which the main guy used to climb, like he was holding an invisible metal bar for support.
It was not a FPS, had third person view of the character, and was more focused on parkour. There was also a button through which you could deactivte or activate some kind of lever inside the factory, which would have it's own cut scene.
As far as I remember, it had a radioactive symbol to it.
Please help me find this game! :D
My textbook only mentions βacid catalystβ when talking about reactions of 1Β° alcohols with hydrogen halides. It says that it requires a mixture of concentrated hydrochloric acid and a Lewis acid as a catalyst like zinc chloride to form an alkyl chloride. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I have in my notes as an example: HCL + H2O -> Cl^- + H3O^+ And I have for reasons -No free H3O^+ -No free OH^- -Therefore pH is 7 These are notes from my teacher and I thought I understood at the time but Iβm revising it and I donβt get why the H3O^+ wouldnβt make it acidic
Dropping acid while drunk
This happened 3 years ago when I was 18. I was working as a table busser and I would usually unwind after a shift with some four lokos. For some reason I like the taste of four loko but the taste of beer and wine makes me gag.
On the night in question I was hanging out with a girl I met on tinder. She was a year or two older then me and had a pretty cool friend group. We would usually hang out at her friends house. The owner of the house was this cute druggy girl who was dating a guy in the military and they would have loud sex 24/7 no matter who was over.
There were a bunch of other people, another pothead like me, a nanny for the kid, a girl who I guess lived there, a gay dude, and a guy who was ordering weed online but only buying like a quarter ounce at a time.
We were all hanging out on the back porch drinking and smoking weed when the topic of acid comes up. The girl I met on tinder and the pothead dude were the only people in the group besides me who had taken acid before. Everyone decided that night they all wanted to trip for the first time.
I get wasted on four loko and I text my plug to see if he has acid. I live in the DEEP south and acid is pretty rare. My plug texted me back saying he had tabs and we could meet up in an hour. Someone gives me and my girl a ride and we get the acid. It was white on white so I honestly thought I might have got scammed. Iβm adding to the story that I was skeptical because I was drunk out of my mind and honestly I wasnβt prepared to trip especially with a group of strangers.
We all drop the acid at midnight. Within 30 mins my stomach feels weird, itβs a mix of an electric feeling and hangover nausea. On the comeup of the acid I felt myself go from drunk to sober to hungover within an hour. Iβm coming up laying on the couch, my stomach hurts and I just want to relax. The girl I met on tinder lays on top of my stomach and told me she gets affectionate on acid. Normally this would be dope but again I felt like shit so having someone laying on me felt like I was literally being suffocated.
The acid kicks in and we are all fried. Iβve taken atleast 50 different tabs of acid and this is either the strongest or second strongest tab Iβve ever taken, very intense open eyed visuals. This was no acid Iβd ever give to a beginner without an experienced trip sitter, and we didnβt have one.
I kinda took on the roll as the trip sitter and I would talk to everyone one on one to make sure t
... keep reading on reddit β‘Do weak acids have a Ka less than 1 and strong acids have a Ka of 1 or greater than 1?
Hello, this is the first time I'm using Reddit for help since both my TA and Professor are too busy to do so and I have no friends in that specific class.
People of the internet I request your aid if possible!
Without further adieu here are the questions
A 20.00 mL sample of phosphoric acid was titrated to the phenolphthalein endpoint using 1.198 M potassium hydroxide.Β If the endpoint volume was 28.82 mL, what was the molar concentration of the phosphoric acid?
Note: for this endpoint, the final form of phosphoric acid in the titration is HPO42β; remember that you do not have to perform equilibrium calculations to perform stoichiometric calculations!
A solution of hydrochloric acid was standardized by using it to titrate exactly 1.093 g of anhydrous disodium tetraborate (Mm = 201.22 g/mol) to the methyl orange endpoint.Β If the endpoint volume was 9.83 mL, what was the concentration of the acid expressed in units of millimoles per L (mM)?
Note: you do not have to take into account the equilibrium of the products for this calculation!
