A list of puns related to "Stroke Volume"
I read an article titled "Banishing cardiovascular drift: a master stroke for endurance athletes?" which discussed a study comparing 30-minutes of low-intensity cycling to 3 low-intensity intervals 10 minutes each with 5 minutes rest and found that stroke volume kept going down throughout the continuous workout (because of cardiac drift), but recovered to high levels at the start of each interval so that the total time spent at maximal stroke volume was higher in the interval workout.
Does this mean that breaking up easy runs into 10-minute intervals with 5 minutes rest is better than doing it in one go? After all maximizing time spent at maximal stroke volume would be optimal for 'stretching the heart' (eccentric hypertrophy) which if I'm not mistaken is an important part of building an aerobic base.
Does increase in heart rate increase stroke volume and ultimately cardiac output? Isnβt the duration of diastole less in increased heart rate which leads to less end diastolic volume due to less filling time? So how can cardiac output increase even when thereβs a decrease in stroke volume or end diastolic volume?
I know I could look up a YouTube video but does anyone have any easy way to explain it? Iβm not too sure what either is

Had an interesting question in Uworld - hypertensive emergency 211/105. The question then asked what drug does the follow:
Stroke volume unchanged
Systemic vascular resistance decreased
Heart rate decreased
I understand how labetalol can decrease SVR (vasodilation) and heart rate (B1 blocking) but how does stroke volume stay the same? I thought it would down* up given the B1 blocking?
Pulse pressure = Systolic Blood Pressure - Diastolic blood pressure.
I have been taught that if the stroke volume increases, the pulse pressure would increase but shouldn't the pulse pressure remain the same because an increase in stroke volume would lead to an increase in both systolic and diastolic pressures since greater amount of blood is moving into the aorta?
So when I try to play around with the volume buttons on the headphones, the volume increases, then suddenly it's completely quiet, I press more often - weird beeping noises I've never heard before, more pressing - suddenly earrape, more pressing - completely silent and it just goes on like this. The voice feedback doesn't work anymore. I tried resetting before but it kept on doing this. Maybe they got a little too wet at some point. Anybody experiences the same issues?
I'm asking this because I am aware that two-stroke motors also require oil to be added to the fuel.
My plan is to build an inflatable pontoon catamaran (likely not bigger than about a dozen feet in length) to explore Georgian Bay. It will probably involve some combination of wind and powered propulsion. I was considering a 12v electric trolling motor powered by solar panels and maybe a wind turbine, but realized that I would probably need too many batteries to run the motor for hours on end when wind and sunlight were unreliable. So now I'm thinking a gas trolling motor might be better for covering large distances.
I'm trying to build something that can be dismantled and stored in my apartment and is low-cost, which is why I'm looking at trolling motors.
I bought a house in the city.. As a result i haven't played my drums in so long. I now live in a semi detached / duplex type house. My neighbour and I both have babies... So I don't want to start any sort of war.
I have a lovely full kit which I haven't been able to touch in over 4 years.
I considered selling everything and buying electric but now I am considering looking into a cheaper option- low volume cymbals and quiet mesh heads for all drums.
How effective are these ? Any videos I watch the cymbals still seem loud haha. ? The snare possibly too but the toms definitely seem very quiet.
