A list of puns related to "Stormwind"
I think the single thing I've missed most since Cata/MoP are the dueling areas outside the gates of the capital cities. People just AFK showing off their cool transmogs/mounts, and dueling challenge flags littered everywhere.
If we can't have our capital cities back as primary places of interest, having an area where Horde and Alliance can duel each other without being able to kill each other at 1 hp would be tons of fun.
As an aside, I feel like the death of dueling has stymied the flow of new players into WoW's PvP endgame. Being a low level and showing up to Stormwind/Orgrimmar and seeing max level characters duking it or beating a level 46 as a level 32 in a duel while waiting for a dungeon to pop are core memories for new players.
Honestly, I feel like having max level characters removed from the areas new players traverse is terrible for the game's health in general, but that's unbacked philosophical nonsense.

How is 'Charged Call' upgraded versus the questline?
I've been playing questline shaman for at least 244 games and I've only had a couple times that 'charged call' is upgraded to 9 when my questline is complete. This however shouldn't be possible.
Charge call upgrades even when it's in the deck or you discover the card. If you play 9 overload cards (Shaman questline complete), the card should be at 10 (1 + 9 = 10).
Charged call working as expected (9, should be 9): https://hsreplay.net/replay/h84A5CtfGGcwvecPsUjRLo
List of overloaded cards played in order:
Feral Spirit
Guidance
Lightning Bloom (Part 1 complete)
Novice Zapper
Lightning Bolt
Lightning Bloom (Part 2 complete)
Perpetual Flame

Charged call not working as expected (9, but should be 10): https://hsreplay.net/replay/29mj5rKTsXkBzcCeuvUgYZ

While we wait for today's patch, I thought I would post my thoughts on the latest expansion.
Previous Retrospectives:
Overview:
Itβs finally over. Our visit to Stormwind has come to an end, and, just like the kids when you take them to the Museum of Art, we were ready to leave a long time ago.
You know the old quote from A Tale of Two Cities, βIt was the best of times, it was the worst of timesβ¦β? Thatβs how I felt during this expansion. For me Stormwind held a ton of promise β quests were coming back! The story felt good! The cards referenced some of those memorable places from my days as an Alliance player in World of Warcraft. Even the most meme card ever printed (Elwynn Boar) was full brought excitement to me (and others).
Then came the reality of what a βcombo deckβ meta feels like. And, honestly, it feels like crap. I did find some fun decks during this release, but one of them (Fel DH) never had a super high power level, while the other (Libram Paladin) is nearly 2 years old.
I applaud Blizzard for giving combo players and meta that they can embrace, but Iβm hopeful that theyβve learned that future similar metas need to give a teensy bit more agency to players to counter / interact with those combo decks.
During all of this we had two other major additions / adjustments to the game: The Battlegrounds revamp in Patch 21.2, and the addition of Mercenaries in Patch 21.4.
The Battlegrounds revamp attempted to balance out power levels for all the various tribal synergies, while adding new mechanics. After an initial learning curve Iβve started seeing some success, but part of me feels
... keep reading on reddit β‘Do they even have 'real' bodies or are they invisible in the living world like spirit healers?
The Mawsworn that attacked Azeroth had corporeal bodies though...
3 teleports to my home city with a portal room on classes with no travel skills is just so handy. These 3 cloaks have been making killing the Greench each day a breeze. Port home from where ever I am with one cloak and then port back again after freeing the deer with another. Now if only Orgimmar had something as easy as Stormwind -> Boralus -> Ironforge. Undercity is a nightmare to get around.
Iβm running a D&D campaign set in the wow universe, and I am trying to get a scale for the true size of the world. Knowing the real travel time between Goldshire and Stormwind would help me estimate the travel time for the party when they are moving across other places (a rough estimate at least).
I had already gotten diamond 10 in the first days of august before the expansion came out, so I ended up finishing at d5 because that's as far as I got before I simply stopped playing.
The meta is overcentralized on seedlock because it has the whole format warped around itself effectively capping games at turn 5-7 with no way around it. Its been almost a month and a half and we only got the darkglare nerf and a minor flesh giant nerf we should have gotten months ago.
Leaving wild to fester like this has caused so much division and sadness in the HS community. So many streamers/players are either not having fun or quitting, yet they are taking this long to fix anything.
The nerf philosophy of wild of "let things degenerate then wait too long to fix it" isn't healthy. I really hope they change this. Either that or they start designing cards with wild in mind.
TL,DR rant post because I'm pissed and I know many others are as well
