A list of puns related to "Stand Up Paddle"
Hi all,
I just tried paddle boarding this week for the first time and I really enjoyed it.
I would really like to buy my own inflatable stand up paddle board along with accessories. Apart from the obvious like decathalon and galaxus - do you have any recommendations where to buy from?
Thanks all :)
Looking for spots within an hour or so of Portland for a day trip once the weather gets a little nicer. Shout out your recommendations.
Has anyone tried this product (or something similar)?
Apart from the obvious differences from a scull (flat bottom, no skeg, high seat, parts that can be removed/taken apart and may therefore be "looser", etc), I'm mostly curious about what effect having moving riggers would have on the run of the boat? Would it cause some weird check? Or does the amount of drag the board has cover up any minor differences in run?
Hi there! Does anyone have a suggestion for an app that will record a workout with GPS that would be suitable for stand up paddle boarding? Iβd like to be able to record heart rate, distance, and the map! Strava has SUP as an option but it only works on the phone. Iβm less concerned with accurate calorie calculations if that helps at all. Sorry if this has been asked before, my search didnβt turn anything up!
Edit/update: I downloaded and used the app Paddle Logger and it worked great! It records a gps map along with distance, duration and average heart rate. I didnβt end up with a heart rate graph and Iβm not sure if this was because my watch wasnβt tight enough for enough readings. I only used the free version of the app but it looks like premium shows some other speed/pace metrics. Am looking forward to using it again as well as with my kayak!
Does anyone know of a place in COMO that will rent out SUPs? I've done it once and my wife has been wanting to try. And we have lots of great little lakes in town that would be perfect for it. I'd prefer to rent so she can try it out before investing in boards for both of us.
I was at my uniβs waterfront activities center this morning and witnessed another disgusting dog owner not picking up their dogβs poop. The owner was with her dog behind an abandoned building. I was sitting on a bench nearby with my friend, concealed by a tree. Once the dog finished its business, the owner walked it toward the dock. When she turned around to look at her dogβs crap, she was horrified to make eye contact with me. She immediately averted her eyes and pulled her dog to the dock where her bf was waiting with a paddle board. While they were getting ready to get on the board, the dog peed on the dock and ran back and forth on the dock. After awhile, the girl put a life jacket on the dog and included it for stand up paddle boarding with her bf...
I hate seeing college students with dogs because they tend to be irresponsible dog owners. They think they can bring their dogs everywhere and let their dogs use the entire world as a toilet. Iβm disgusted to think Iβve been sitting on benches, chairs, kayaks, etc that have probably been walked all over or peed on by dogs. I wish itβs required to get a pet license and you must provide verification that your dog has been trained in order to keep it.
Iβve been to fountain head and found out the hard way that Burke lake doesnβt allow SUP. So does anyone have any good locations out west or something besides the Potomac?
I looked out my window yesterday afternoon and happened to see a stand up paddle board floating down the water. I hopped in my kayak and retrieved it.
While it's a nice board, I'd like to reunite it with its rightful owner, so if you live on the water here and happen to be missing one, message me specifically where you live, and the model and color of the board.
Just getting into stand up paddle, wondering if there's any SUP groups or meetups in town. Any suggestions?
Hello everyone!
I am currently planning a solo adventure the first week of September up to Banff and Calgary from Portland, OR. I will be roadtripping up in my car which will also double as my sleeping arrangement. I haven't decided which days I will be dedicating to the city/the mountains but I feel like I will just play it by ear as I get closer to the trip (unless there are any noteworthy events Sept 1-7).
I will be travelling with my inflatable stand up paddle board and will be looking to do some majestic paddling while I'm there. The board rolls up in to a backpack so I could potentially hike to a lake if that's recommended.
I am also bringing all of my flyfishing gear with me and will be hoping to do a decent amount of fishing while I'm there. I feel most comfortable on a river but would love to be able to find a nice, fishable lake that I could take my SUP on. I'd also be willing to travel outside of the park if there are any noteworthy rivers or fishing spots nearby.
For car camping, I don't currently have any reservations but would love some recommendations for FCFS campgrounds around the park. I know I can't just park my car anywhere in the park and expect to be able to sleep in it without getting a fine. I also don't mind driving outside of the park to sleep for free. Whatever is recommended.
Finally, if anyone has any random advice for a solo traveler on a trip of this nature, please let me know! I've never done a trip like this by myself and I am up for any and every suggestion. I'm a 27 year old male and I like food, beer, sports, live music, running and art/design.
Thanks and can't wait to experience Canada for the first time!
I have really enjoyed building and designing paddle boards. Recently I took one on a multiday trip and attached a aluminum framed solar panel it was great to have along. It's 12v1.6amp I think but it seemed expensive for what it puts out and is kind of heavy. I was hopeful that someone on here would know a good source for panels and a bit more raw material-esc. I was considering building the panel into the upper surface of the board. Thanks!!
Need a reason to go Diving, or SUPing, or just go for a walk around the bay?

Supposing I bring my own paddle board, where around SF can I freely and safely put it in the water and paddle around? Mission Bay? Presidio? Ocean Beach? Embarcadero? Angel Island?
