A list of puns related to "Spine Surgery"
The audacity of this deadbeat to criticize Christine for letting Ysabel have the surgery when she has been living with it for 5 (!) years and was on level 9 pain (!) the past nine months (!!!) ! If he would have let her have the surgery sooner and not put her through the pain of these exercises that did nothing for the spine, she would not have to travel and have surgery in a freaking pandemic! But he probably needed that money for the $900,000 house for Robyn! Janelle was so wrong when she said Kodyβs kids are his soulmates. Only King Solomon and Ariella and some cherry picked other kids.
Edit: The title is a mess, I wrote it fast and angrily. Canβt change it, sorry.
Has anybody ever had surgery on their c spine where they went in through the front of your throat? This is what I'm having done on Tuesday. Once the cage is put in then he will go in again and remove the hardware from the back, this is where a couple of the screws are loose at C5 and the pain in my neck and upper shoulders from behind or getting worse.
According to the letter I got from the insurance company, everything was already approved but I seriously doubt both surgeries could be done on the same day. My question to you all is did you have a hard time speaking or swallowing after the incision on your throat?
I want to get back into yoga properly after a spine surgery I had last June.
After an infection in the spine that was misdiagnosed for a long time, it got so bad that in the end surgeons had to cut out the infection and stabilise my spine by fusing vertebra 9-12 with screws. After doing physical therapy for a while now (strengthening and stretching as instructed by my therapist) I would now like to get back into practising yoga regularly since I enjoy it much more.
Unfortunately, I can not find much information on what's okay to do for me, as I seem to be a rare case and no doctor so far has really been able to tell me what I'm okay to do, as they are used to patients in their 60s.
I am female, 24 years old, have always been very flexible and am not overweight or unfit. I am still worried that I could accidentally damage the fusion or slow down the healing process.
Does anyone have experience with spinal fusions and could give me some advice? What poses would you recommend to start with / to definitely avoid? Or should I hold off on practising yoga for longer and just stick with the boring physical therapy for now?
I am grateful for any advise! Thank you.
What I mean by this is when you have severe scoliosis, you can feel one side being stronger than the other or more heavier. This is obviously caused by the many years of muscle memory slowly following the curving spine over the years. Once the spine is corrected, and all those muscles go back to the correct position, can you feel your body finally feeling even or balanced after surgery i guess. Your body in general too because after all those years of being crooked it must feel better to be realigned right??
Was honestly just curious, the thought randomly popped in my head. Going to ask this to my doctor when i see him next.
Hey Reddit Family,
My herniated disc rapidly deteriorated last week and I had to have emergency surgery on Tuesday. Iβm in agony. Constant 8-10 of pain. I canβt walk normally yet. I canβt lie on my back or sit up. Everything is a mess, and Iβm having a hard time visualizing what better feels like because nothing has ever hurt this much. I know Iβm in recovery from major surgery, but Iβm so so scared that itβs never going to get any better.
I guess Iβm looking for some support and maybe examples of people getting better from a similar surgery. When does the pain, if not end, at least return to tolerable?
Hey all. Long time lurker. I had severe sciatica starting in September of last year that got progressively worse every week, mainly at night. Months of PT didn't work and on January 18th an MRI showed I had a large tumor at L1. I had surgery February 5th to remove it and had a laminoplasty.
I am here to ask for those who have had spine surgery, what did your recovery look like? I was on the upswing and felt really good between weeks 3 and 4, but I'm almost at week 7 now and feel like I just took 10 steps back. My muscles hurt so bad I can barely lay down. I am bringing up these concerns with my surgeon and his team said it's all normal. They really haven't given me much advice or outlook for recovery and it's rather frustrating. I will say I live alone and have probably overdone it the last few weeks with chores, lifting a little more than I should have, etc.
I guess my main question is- was your healing from surgery linear?
Also- always trust your gut! I knew something was off and I'm glad I pressured my doctor into ordering an MRI. Thanks to all in advance!
Dawson: "Doc you sure this will solve my problem?"
Dr: "Don't worry, we got your back!"
After having done the surgery, is it possible for the spine to curve again if we're not careful? Do we have maintain constant proper posture for the rest of our life?
Iβve asked my doctor this question but he was pretty vague and said just walk. Iβm curious how much I should be walking, if I can walk on a treadmill, if I should only do 10 mins at a time, etc. Iβm doing some core exercises but I donβt think thatβll help me lose weight. Iβll call his PA to get more info, but Iβm curious what has worked for those who have had surgeries / injuries.
Iβm 9 weeks post-op from my microdiscectomy and just weighed myself. I have gained 30+ lbs since my car accident (when the injury to my back occurred) 1.5 years ago and I yearn to be active one day again. Before the accident I ran with my dog every morning, went on hikes, etc. All that stopped due to the debilitating back pain so I became very sedentary. And now 9 weeks post op I am still sedentary other than walking around my complex with my dog once or twice a day. Iβm so anxious about reinjuring myself, especially since Iβm dealing with a lot of sciatica post op still. Trying to balance being safe while also starting to lose the weight Iβve put on.
Any tips??
Has anyone on here successfully returned to the ice after spinal fusion? I play in a skilled menβs league and am starting to worry about my ability to play after the procedure. Maybe Iβm just getting in my own head here as the date approaches. Would be interested to hear others experiences.
