Moving further, I intend to focus on intensifying modernization via work-study programs to France, Italy and the UK financed by the Somali government, work on improving roads and communication infrastructure with the goal of facilitating communication and undercutting dejure autonomy and finally working on expanding education.
The party would begin undertaking a more radical shift advocating nationalization with the intention of later privatization once sufficient industrialization has occurred to warrant it(aka when Somalia actually has an Industrial economy). In regards to the Somali Youth League, we intend to transform it into a Somali Analog of PRI with the intentions of utilizing it as an institution of nation-building and building relations with the Mexican state which carried out a similar program in transforming a agriculturally reliant Mexico into an Industrial state with a well-cultivated international image.

Turkey believes in a peaceful and stable Africa, which we see faces its greatest obstacle from the aforementioned nation. Chinese influence in this form, supporting the pan-nationalist invasion of countries and brutal dictatorships, will not be welcomed in areas adjacent to the Republic of Turkey and handled accordingly.
Ethiopian rebels have declared their intention to topple their government, which has not held an election in over twenty years and has destroyed its status in the name of helping Somalia, which bizarrely has attacked Ethiopia repeatedly.
Ethiopia has ruined its relations with neighboring Sudan and Egypt due to its efforts to leave them without water from the vital Nile River. Its access to the sea is blocked and the Ethiopian government has done little to peacefully resolve disputes with neighbors to alleviate this problem. Ethiopia has repeatedly threatened its neighbor Eritrea with armed invasion, a clear violation of the United Nations Charter. Finally, it has enabled aggressive Somali actions which are utterly illegal.
All of this has been done with the support and encouragement of the Federal Republic of China. Turkey has exhausted its efforts in negotiation, reaching the conclusion that this is an uncivilized state unable to engage in dialog which is generally a bare minimum expectation from a nation.
Embassy and consular services will be ended upon the pull out.

The Ethiopian government was warned against incursions into the Somali Republic and against the results of the 1947 referendum. They have elected to ignore these warnings.
A small task force will be sent to the red sea to blockade any and all traffic into Ethiopia/Assab. This force will consist of 2 Daring-class destroyers, HMS Diana and HMS Defender, one Salisbury-class frigate, HMS Chichester, and two Leopard-class frigates, HMS HMS Leopard & HMS Lynx.
50'000 British soldiers will arrive in Somaliland with 100 Centurion MBTs. Along with them, 40 English Electric Lightning, 60 Hawker Hunters, and 60 Gloster Javelins will patrol the skies from Aden and Basaso. Britain will withdraw from Kenya to supply an extra 10'000 soldiers to the defence of Somaliland.

As administrative problems seem to be occurring with the French leading to a delay in the referendum that will be held in French Somaliland, the Somali government has seen fit to finally declare the Jamhuuriyadda Soomaaliyeed, or Somali Republic, as the official government of the post Trustee Territory Somaliland. Thus today the official constitution of the Republic was signed by elected officials of the former Trust Territory, British Somaliland, and by clan leaders of the NFD. The constitution outlines certain rights for all citizens, such as self-determination, the right to speak without censorship or fear of punishment, that all men are equal in both the realm of politics and law, and that nothing pertaining to ones birth, clan, or profession can disqualify someone from entering the realm of politics. As such, the merging of the parliaments of the north and the south have dictated that a new Prime Minister, and a President must be chosen. It has been decided that the powers of the PM under the Trustee government shall be split now, with a President becoming Head of State and a Prime Minister being head executive and appointed by the President himself. PM Issa has graciously and peacefully stepped down from his post to the elected President of the Somali Republic, head of the majority power Somali Youth League, President Aden Abdullah Osman Daar. As his first act, President Daar has appointed MP Abdirashid Ali Shermarke as his Prime Minister, PM Shermarke is more than qualified for this position, having recently gained a Ph.D from the University of Rome in Political Science.
As for foreign relations, the Republic is eager to establish formal relations, both with those they share cultural ties to, such as Yemen, Egypt and members of the Arab league, as well as other countries that are close to the Republic in it's economy, such as Thailand, Italy, and America. However, one of the most popular, at least domestically, things the Republic has done is firstly dictating that any Somali, regardless of what country they are in, is a citizen of the Republic and allowed to the rights provided to them. As well as refusing to acknowledge the validity of the 1954 Anglo-Ethiopian Treaty, or any treaties regarding the Somali-Ethiopian border on the grounds that such treaties were not done with the consent, and in many cases knowledge of the Somali people, and that these treaties violate the principle of Self-Determination as defined in the Somali constitution.

I had originally left this, though unofficially sorry about that, due to Empirepowers restarting and my position as a mod especially early on would take up a lot of time. Now that it has calmed down there, for the most part, and me moving my claim to the Apache tribe, I think it would be safe for me to return here! Now, onto the information for the claim!
Republic of Somalia
The Republic of Somalia has been formed from British Somaliland, the Kenyan Northern Frontier District, and the U.N. Trusteeship of Somaliland, however they claim sovereignty over all Somali inhabited lands i.e. the Ethiopian Haud and Ogaden regions and French Somaliland. As the second world war drew to a close, the Somali people, especially in former Italian Somaliland, began to agitate for the European colonizers to allow the Somali people their own self-determination, and many organizations formed to see this goal come true. The most prominent of these, the Somali Youth League, was even able to send a member to the U.N. General Assembly and speak for their cause, spurring the G.A. to create the Trusteeship of Somaliland out of former Italian Somaliland, with the state of Italy to help ensure the Trusteeship is properly prepared for independence.
The Italians helped their wards in this effort, helping them to create their military and even find some of the lands mineral rights, and due to Ethiopian actions in Eretria pushed the two states closer, until finally, 1960 came and the Somali Republic was declared. Due to the assistance of the British Government, the Republic held not only the former Trusteeship, but also the Northern Frontier District from the Kenyan Colony, and the former colony of British Somaliland.
Government
The Republic is currently a parliamentary system, with M.P.'s elected from their areas and sent to Parliament held in Mogadishu, there they debate and approve new laws to be instituted. The Head of State is a President, elected by the people of the country and handles all foreign matters, as well as matters involving the military of the state. The Head of Government however, is a Prime Minister, chosen from the Parliament by the President upon his election, and approved by the rest of the Parliament. Currently, the largest party is the Somali Youth League supported by the large amount of southern Somali clans, and the President and Prime Minister are President Aden Abdullah Osman

We call upon Britain and France to hold the promised referenda in British and French Somaliland on the subject of these colonies joining the Somali Republic.
This is truly a great triumph for democracy and peaceful decolonization.
The Somali Republic has recently stepped up patrols on the Ethiopian border, however in doing so something has been made glaringly clear. The M1 Garand, though reliable, is very much out of date, even the United States has phased it out of service, thus we shall begin to search for a replacement for our main battle rifle. It has also become clear that the army suffers from a distinct lack of armored vehicles, thus we shall also begin looking for main battle tanks, and infantry transports.
The Somali Republic would like it to be known that there shall be no discrimination from offers around the world, we shall consider offers from Capitalist and Communist countries equally.

Following the end of the Somali-Ethiop War, the elections promised by the Somali Parliament have been set, though delayed due to the occupation of the Somali Galbeed province by the former Socialist Republic of Ethiopia. However, due to the peace and order being restored in the region, the elections for the 98 added Parliamentary positions. The results came out as such:

Thus the SYL retains it's majority in the Congress and has no need to form a coalition with another party, having been seen by many as quickly bringing the war to an end and with minimal casualties. Of particular note is in the Somali Galbeed Regional Elections for the local parliament, a new party known as the "Dervish Party" had been formed and participated in the election. Normally the formation of a new party is not of particular note, as many parties may organize but gain no vote in the actual elections, however the Dervish Party has done just that. Running on a campaign of increased militarization of the Somali Republic, as well as keeping to fundamental Somali traditions, such as Islam, Freedom of Speech, and Clan Structure, they managed to secure enough seats in the regional parliament to be a major force in the Opposition. However, either due to forming too close to the Federal Elections, or not having enough momentum to attempt to, they did not participate in the Federal Elections, and it remains to be seen what support they will have across the country.
In 1968, Shermarke narrowly escaped an assassination attempt. A grenade exploded near the car that was transporting him back from the airport, but failed to kill him.
On October 15, 1969, while paying an official visit to the northern town of Las Anod, Shermarke was shot dead by one of his own bodyguards on duty outside the guest-house where the president was staying, the officer fired an automatic rifle at close range, instantly killing Shermarke. Observers suggested that the assassination was inspired by personal rather than political motives.
Shermarke's assassination was quickly followed by a military coup d'Γ©tat on October 21, 1969 (the day after his funeral), in which the Somali Army seized power without encountering armed opposition β essentially a bloodless takeover. The putsch was spearheaded by Major General Muhammad Siad Barre, who at the time commanded the army.
Barre shortly afterwards renamed the country the Somali Democratic Republic, arrested members of the former government, banned political parties, dissolved the parliament and the Supreme Court, and suspended the constitution.
In addition to a planning on a nationalization program of industry and land, the new regime's foreign policy plans on emphasizing Somalia's traditional and religious links with the Arab world.
