A list of puns related to "Serbian Folk Music"
Hi, have been travelling in the Balkans for a month, and love the traditional music (especially in Serbia). I really like the very fast, complex music. Can anyone recommend a compilation, even that I could buy?
I wonder how the dance got its names.
The vocalist was a fatter dude with gold/silver chains around his neck. I think he was in a very colorful suit. They were sitting around a table with the band under some kind of gazeboo.
Serbian Folk music is really interesting, I don't personally listen to it a lot but I found myself knowing a lot of songs just from clubbing and social occasions, so here's a quick guide to our best stuff.
Before we start I have to point out that our songs are either party songs for celebration or heartbreaking songs that make you brake glass (literally the topic in Dajte Vina HoΔu Lom and Polomicu ΔaΕ‘e od kristala)
I also love our genre cause it's so unique. I never heard of a track that's as heart wrenching and emotional as Kraljice Srca Moga but still perfect for a drunk party setting, but besides the heart break lyrics you also get really catchy hooks with great instrumentation like Mustuluk by Haris DΕΎinoviΔ
So, here are the songs we would use as basically party songs, but for specific kinds of parties. Usually these are on every playlist for every big, alcohol related celebration or like at the club past 1 in the morning
Kraljice Srca Moga - Ε aban Ε auliΔ (my favorite)
Vino tocim a vino ne pijem - Miroslav IliΔ
Polomicu ΔaΕ‘e Od kristala - Miroslav IliΔ
Luckasta Si Ti - Miroslav IliΔ
Nije Ε½ivot Jedna Ε½ena - Miroslav IliΔ
Kraljice Srca Moga - Ε aban Ε‘aulic
OdlaziΕ‘, OdlaziΕ‘ - Ε aban Ε‘aulic
Da Li znaΕ‘ - Δani
JoΕ‘ Te Sanjam - Δani
Ti si zena za sva vremena - Milan dinΔiΔ Dinca
Bela Ciganka - Stoja
Do Gole KoΕΎe - Stoja
Nije Monotonija - Ceca
RaΔaj Sinove - DΕΎej
Ko Se S Nama DruΕΎi - DΕΎej
Basically this list starts off with the classics that you'll hear at family celebrations a lot cause everyone knows them, that leads up to Δani and there you get more trendy, Ceca and Stoja have lots of songs playing right now in clubs plus Ceca has hits on hits on hits as well as Miroslav IliΔ
The artists you can look into from this list are Ceca for more poppy, really catchy tracks, Miroslav IliΔ for the classic happy party tracks, Haris DΕΎinoviΔ and Aca Lukas are a great bridge between the classics and that more modern take and I'll stop there because then I'll get into our more pop oriented tracks and that's a lot to go through (cough Jelena KarleuΕ‘a cough)
Its also tricky cause people do lots of covers and we have lots of basically one hit wonders so I recommend to just go through the recommended pages on YouTube, especially the more viewed stuff
And that's about it, if you have any questions I'll gladly answer them!
Hey. Foreigner here. Please share with me, your favourite strange, controversial or unusual Serbian musical acts. I'd really love to dive in the rabbithole of these things. I don't have any preferences when it comes to specific genres, but with all due respect for your culture, miss me with the turbofolk stuff and the diesel-power crap.
Love y'all. Hope to get some nice suggestions.
Edit: Holy shit! Y'all absolutely spoiled me. I knew that I'd get a few but now I've got Serbian music for months. Thanks!
It's main conposition of the emission, and plays trough the video (mainly at start and end of the episodes)
Here is the one episode, basically intro and song at the end, thanks in advance :)
