In the second season, Travisβs Maori heritage is mentioned by the ranger George Greary, and that his people always return home. The ranger was fascinated by the focus on the family, and considering his comments and the relation of family as a topic in the show I think itβs significant to the course of FTWD.
The show follows a blended family. The smallest unit in Maori family and political structure is the whΔnau, which means βto be born or give birth.β We know that the family was new before the show started, and it evolves into a much larger and blended βfamilyβ by the end of end of the first season.
The whΔnau is traditionally comprised of three or four generations and consisted of tribal elders, senior adults such as parents, uncles and aunts, and the sons and daughters together with their partners and children. They were economically self-sufficient. The contemporary meaning of the word is simply extended family. However, either meaning can apply to the group of FTWD.
A second critical aspect of whΔnau is a practice called whΔngai, the adopting or fostering of children and is a practice that is still considered important in modern MΔori whΔnau. It is the raises of non-immediate family as if they were immediate family. In addition, cousins are called brother or sister, so the distinction is nebulous compared to the traditional nuclear family β of which the Clark-Manawa-Salazar-Strand unit is not.
Grearyβs fascination of the Maori returning home was born of Travis mentioning taking his grandmother back to New Zealand to be buried. In Maori culture there used to be βsecondary burial.β After death, the body is laid out on ceremonial mats for viewing by family and the village. After a few days, the body is then wrapped in mats and placed in a cave, tree, or buried in the ground. When one year passes, the body is removed and the bones cleaned and painted with red ochre. The remains are then taken from village to village for another period of mourning, and then finally buried in a sacred place.
The connotations of this practice in FTWD is symbolic, and I believe that Nick is already in the process of doing this. He overdoses, his family mourns his decision, and then he overdoses again and is taken back to his family to detox. I believe that the red face Nick wears is akin to the red ochre, and the moving around from place to place is all about Nick moving from place to place as his extended family mourns what was.
Nick is going to die by the end of the s

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
TL;DR: Norway is reimplementing national restrictions like group sizes, alcohol restrictions, WFH and digital education. Originally written in Norwegian by VG.
The government is introducing a ban on selling alcohol nationally and stricter restrictions related to home offices, events and schools.
It is less than a week last time the government implemented new restrictions. Now it will implement more.
These are the measures the government will introduce from night to Wednesday December 15th.
The plan is that the rules will last for four weeks, but the government says: "The rules may last longer and itβs possible it may be a need for stricter measures in the future."
Β· Be more at home: It is recommended to reduce the number of close contacts. More time should be spent at home. This means that you must also limit the number of visits, social gatherings and events you attend.
Β· Number of guests: You should not have more than 10 guests at home, in addition to your household. You can have up to 20 guests once during the Christmas and New Year holidays. There should be a distance of one meter between the guests.
Β· Avoid public transport: It is recommended to avoid the use of public transport to get to events.
Several injunctions and prohibitions are introduced for events from night to Wednesday, December 15th:
Β· Indoors: A maximum of 20 people indoors at a private gathering in a public place, in borrowed or rented premises are allowed.
Β· Funerals: Memorial services after funerals and burials can have a maximum of 50 people indoors and outdoors. The funeral itself is considered a public event, see below.
Β· Public indoor events: A maximum of 20 people at public indoor events without fixed allocated seats and 50 people when using such seats. The organizer should ensure that everyone who is present at indoor events are able to keep at least one meter distance to others who are not in the same household and similar. Exceptions are made for several groups, e.g. for athletes at cultural and sports events, participants in certain courses and those who are in the same cohort in kindergarten or primary school.
Β· At outdoor public events: Up to 100 people without fixed, allocated seats and up to 200 x 3 with fixed, allocated

Facility Report: Sigma Omega Lambda-3
Quarantine Status: Secure.
Possibility of breach: Questionable.
Description: Sigma Omega Lambda is an unusual Quarantine facility. Initially established on a common main-sequence star, this facility served a purpose of quarantine until it, through necessity, was abandoned to adhere to the non-interference doctrine of the foundation and the galactic council. Since then, it has been the source of its own anomalous entities, some of which are laid out in this report. The FTL exclusionary field is currently operating at full capacity and showing no signs of failure, but due to the unusual nature of the systemβs inhabitants, it is unclear if this fact will hold true in the near future.
Report: Despite the halting of SCQ transportation to the Sigma Omega Lambda facility, hereby referred to as SOL, anomalous entities on SOL three have increased at an alarming rate. The creation of SCQs near SOL has also increased exponentially as well as the extremities possible for anomalous entities. The third planet has also defied the odds and allowed a sapient species to evolve upon it. For the sake of non-interference the personnel and monitoring equipment were moved off-planet once this tribal species was discovered. Since then the equipment and personnel have been relocated out of the system. Initial expectations were for the species to go extinct due to exposure to these deadly anomalies.
Despite their primitive nature, however, the inhabitants have managed to survive for half an epoch and have even built a substantial civilization from their hellish world. There have also been an unprecedented number of Delta-type events that have occurred to it, rendering the planet a functionally empty husk. Despite this fact, however, the inhabitants always manage to return, bringing their planet and civilization back to a sta

This is a simple guide for beginner farmers - either new to DII or currently undergeared. It's intended to give a good path for all-around farming (gear and runes) early on.
The most important thing to understand is that crushing content is more important than your MF% (magic find %). You should only be equipping enough magic find gear such that it still allows you to lay waste to enemies quickly. It's a balance so play around to find what's best for you.
Another important note is that rune drops are unaffected by MF. MF farming is - in general - a numbers game but that's especially true for runes. Kill as much as possible to increase your chances of good rune drops. Strictly farming bosses can be good for gear but you will remain rune-starved.
Act 1 can be a surprisingly good source of gear and runes. It's generally quite easy to farm and has a couple areas in it that are "level 85 zones". That means any item can drop in these zones. You don't have to be taking on Act 5 content to find the best gear in the game.
My go to route:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
ACT 1:
- Cold Plains
- Mausoleum (Burial Grounds) [lvl 85 zone]
- Stony Field
- Dark Wood
- Black Marsh
---> Countess (runes up to Ist)
- Tamoe Highland
---> The Pit 1 & 2 [lvl 85 zones]
- Andariel (Catacombs 4) [Boss]
ACT 2:
- Ancient Tunnels (Lost City) [lvl 85 zone]
ACT 3:
- Mephisto (Durance of Hate 3) [Boss]
Open every chest and (if you have high attack speed) kick every barrel for more runic love.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Unless you have access to Teleport, the bosses listed above should probably be skipped.
Also, avoid places that have too many immunities to your main damage type. Some areas will be different each time you play, while others consistently contain the same immunities.
For instance, The Mausoleum is always populated by only lightning immunes - with some exceptions on randomly rolled elites. If you are farming with a Javazon, it just won't be efficient enough. However, lightning damage is incredibly effective in The Pit and Ancient Tunnels.
I farm with a cold damage sorc. that has some fire in a pinch (Frozen Orb/Meteor). If I pop into the Cold Plains and find 1/3 of the mobs are cold immune, I kill the Super Unique in the area (Fallen Shaman - Bibosh) and GTFO to the next zone. Don't slow yourself by trying to deal with disadvantageous immuniti

Skadi the Corrupting Heart, henceforth known as Skalter, has arrived on global to take her place among the very best operators in the game. But despite her strength she's easy to underestimate; she doesn't scream "broken" like SilverAsh or Surtr do, so you have to either use her yourself or take a closer look at how her numbers affect the game. And while getting good results from her is very simple (place s2 Skalter, place operators in her range, done), you can get even better results by understanding who benefits the most from her. While normally I would wait until I've finished mastering my Skalter, she's a limited operator so I want to make sure people have time to read the guide and think about her while she's still available to pull.
Skalter is a 6* Bard Supporter, acting as a pure healer+buffer. But unlike most units focusing on those roles, her sheer strength and versatility makes her one of the most powerful units in the game, and with her ease of use there's little reason not to bring her to every stage you possibly can.
Skalter is what the game refers to as an "Alternate Operator", more popularly known as an "alter". Alters are units derived from some other operator, with Skadi the Corrupting Heart being derived from Skadi (the 6* Guard). An alter cannot be in the same squad as their original, nor can an alter be active in the base as the same time as the original. Alters use the same Trust % as the original, but otherwise share no stats nor investment. You don't need to own the original to use the alter.
Skalter does not attack, not even in the sense that Medics do when healing. Skalter heals via applying passive regen equal to 10% of her Attack/second. As this is passive regen it works even on unhealables like Mudrock and summons. Plus this is true AoE like the entirety of her kit, so no matter how many allies are in range all will receive the full benefit. [Inspire] effects are the buffs applied by Bard Supporters, meaning Skalter and Sora cannot buff themselves or each other.
Skalter's Attack is still relevant because her healing and Attack buffs both scale off it it; at e2 30 with no skills active she will have
