I really enjoyed both of these films not only for their surrealist and absurdist elements but also for the huge amount of attention to detail that went into their world-building. Looking for films with a similar style of 'debauchery' or just general absurdism from other directors.

What do you guys have for recommendations? I'm really into episodic old literary stuff right now. I find the historical aspect mixed with the voice heavy first person perspective extremely fascinating. Anyone have anything obscure? And/or must reads similar to these books?

Just saw this film and Im surprised no one has posted about the poster for Satyricon being prominently displayed in one of the "victims" homes for an entire scene. Not sure how it ties into the theme of the movie, maybe just role reversal? I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts
EDIT: Im a moron and forgot to include the fact the parents were watching The Night of The Hunter as well as the film featuring one of the songs from it's soundtrack
I'm looking for a medieval themed album both with it's sound/atmosphere and it's lyrics. Genre is not important about that (except the poser ones of course, which poser band interests in medieval stuff though)
Anyways, Dark Medieval Times is a perfect example for the album that I'm looking for.
Do you guys have any suggestions like that?
