Where to Live, West Manchester (Salford Way) or Liverpool (Aigburth)?
I’ve recently been offered a job in Knowsley and am struggling to decide where to live. I have read a number of posts regarding the commute between Manchester and Liverpool and none seem to make the decision any easier as they consider going from the centre of one city to the centre of the other.
If I was to find a place to rent in Liverpool I like the sound of Aigburth, Mosley Hill or the Georgian Quarter. Google maps tells me that by taking the quickest route around the city my commute would be around 17 miles and a 30-40 minute journey.
This has made me consider Salford/Eccles way as they are to the West of Manchester and only 22 miles (ish) away from where I’d be employed; again with an apparent 35-40 minute commute.
I am 28 years old and part of the LGBTQ community, however where I live currently no LGBTQ community exists, so naturally Manchester sparks my interest. Having never lived in either city I’m struggling to decide what to do in terms of the commute and lifestyle. I have heard great things about how friendly Liverpool is and how it has more of a community feel so this also appeals to me as I don’t know anybody in either city.
I was wondering if people with similar experiences - living in either city or commuting from East Liverpool to West Manchester - could please tell me what their experiences are like?

Just need the last little bit to get an apartment in marple, I have to pay 6 months up front because I've got a 0 hour contract, I got most of it -£150 in two weeks, after expecting to only need 1 months rent and deposit, I just need help with the last bit plus moving expenses.

Hi! Money has been extremely tight this month due to some charges that had to be paid. Unfortunately, I have my internet bill and phone bill to pay this weekend. The requested amount is the exact amount needed to cover both bills, with 1 pence to spare (hence the "after fees").
My payday is July 15th, next Monday. Repayment is possible in the early hours if required, or any time that day.
