What factors lead to the Russian Revolution of 1917 creating a communist one party rule while the German Revolution of 1918 resulted in a (fragile) democracy in which conservative (and monarchist) forces played an important role?
On the face of it both revolutions seem to be a direct result of WW I.
In both cases the monarchy was overthrown and socialist/communist movements played a critical part.
Yet in Russia the result was a civil war and ultimately a one party government under the CPSU , while in Germany the new state formed as a constitutional multiparty democracy (however fragile it turned out to be a few years later).

Can anyone explain the rapid inversion of the rates of use of the two different words/word-components (my apologies for incorrect terminology, English speaker only) around the time of the Russian Revolution of 1917?

Was the Russian Revolution of 1917 not a workers revolution? Was Lenin not a Marxist?
My liberal friend keeps telling me that the Soviet Union didn't follow Marxism and that the Russian Revolution of 1917 wasn't a workers revolution but instead a "Leninist" revolution comprised of Lenin and fellow upper class intellectuals. When he calls it Leninist, he thereby holds that it was not actually Marxism being implemented, but instead Lenins "skewed" interpretation that is really far away from being what Marx wrote. Essentially saying that Lenin's interpretation of Marx results in something that isn't actually Marxism.
As I've now read a fair bit of Lenin, Marx and Engels (I still have PLENTY more to go through), I feel like I have a basic understanding of what both Marxism is, as well as what Lenin views on Marxism, the state, and Revolution are. Therefore, I feel like my friend is very wrong with what he's saying but it's hard for me to come with a solid rebuttal and really explain things in detail to him as I myself have a really shallow understanding of the actual revolution in practice, as well as communist history in general (this far I've really only read up on theory rather than the history of various Marxist movements).
Can someone explain to me whether or not the Russian Revolution of 1917 was a workers revolution as well as whether or not Lenin was a Marxist. As I've said I already have my convictions but I'd like to hear what you have to say, as well as what I can bring up to convince my friend of my positions truthfulness. If you have the time don't hesitate to go in depth and provide sources as I'd really appreciate it

What if Alexander II wasn't assassinated and there was no revolution in 1917? Would the Russian monarchy survive into the 21st century or would it be overthrown during the Great Depression era?
So in the OTL Alexander II was planning to introduce reforms proposed by his advisor Mikhail Loris-Meikov that would have put Russia onto the path of becoming a constitutional monarchy. Unfortunately he was assassinated and his successor cancelled his reforms before they could be implemented. But what if he wasn't assassinated and he implemented his reforms? And assuming there is no revolution in 1917, would the Russian monarchy survive into the 21st century or would it be overthrown during the Great Depression era?

What if Czar Nicholas II asked for one last chance before the February revolution to try launch one last offensive (the one the Russians planned on doing in 1917) and after Russia's next failure he will bring Russia out of the war and Russia agrees.
This is the offensive I'm referring to. (don't worry the link will send u to the right time in the vid)

After securing their positions after the 1917 Russian Revolution, the Bolsheviks seem 'hateful' towards the peasant population. Did this occured and what were the reasons?
I remember learning in school that after the Bolsheviks had consolidated their control of Russia, they initiated a number of projects and programs to reduce opposition and further stabilized the country's situation. The most notable aspect of this is that peasants were generally brutally targeted and had a difficult experience under the Bolshevik. Some members of the Bolshevik party didn't pay much attention to the peasants with Trotsky, I remembered, saying something in line of 'just kill the peasants'. This somewhat contradict with my understanding that Lenin did seek support from the peasants with his popular slogan (Peace, Land and Bread) and my understanding that peasants technically count as a worker. Though I try finding out on the Internet but came up inconclusive with the Bolshevik's relationship/opinion on the Russian peasant population and thought seeking help from this subreddit.
My question is, did the Bolsheviks hated the peasants, if so what were the underlying reasons for this disdain towards the peasants? Was it political, social or ideological?
Edit 1: Someone mentioned which period of time, specifically the 1917-1923 Russian Revolution when Lenin was still the main leader of the party before his impairment. Thank you for mentioning it (though I can't see the reply for some reason).
