A list of puns related to "Romanesca"
Multumesc in avans!
##Preface
If you are wondering what a Romanesca is, the short answer is it is a stock musical formula (schema) that very much resembles the progression found in Pachelbel's Cannon. Open Music Theory provides a good overview (it's the last formula of the "Openings (Presentations)" category). You may find a number of short audio examples to aid in familiarizing what this sounds like here
here ends the preface
A while back I made a post about schematic "energy." The Romanesca occupied one of the lowest positions on the totum pole. It would make sense for a low energy schema such as this to be common at phrase outsets, in order to leave some room for the energy of the phrase to grow. In other words, a phrase shape like this one, which comes from Leonardo Leo's "Non so d'onde viene," might be said to reflect an intuitively "normal" trajectory of schematic energy: start low energy, grow to high energy, then reign things back in for the cadence.
[that's the last you'll hear of that previous post, which I only brought up as a useful launching point]
Occasionally, one finds pretty high energy situations that seem to smack into a Romanesca wall. That is, a Romanesca shows up and pulls everything down a couple notches. One of the most recognizable instances of this is also one of Gjerdingen's paradigmatic Romanescas: the entrance of the Drei Knabchen music in "Hm Hm Hm" from Mozart's Magic Flute. Mozart emphasizes the introduction of the Romanesca by suddenly throwing the brakes on the tempo. All the energy of the Allegro just sort of dissipates and we are left with this tranquil quiescence to end the ensemble.
Deploying the Romanesca as a means to suddenly drop the energy of the phrase is a really interesting strategy, I think. I know of two other examples off the top of my head that perform the Romanesca in a similar way. Unlike the Mozart, neither luxuriates in the low-energy of the Romanesca for very long, but both "pick up the pace" again after a couple of measures.
The first example comes from JC Bach's Zanaida of 1763; the aria **"Se spiego le prim

Can you guys help me find some music with similar instrumentation and sound (doesnβt need to be the same form and vocals are ok too)? Thanks!

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.

This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
There hasn't been a post all year!
