A list of puns related to "Reseda"
In S4, we see that Johnny and his mom seemed pretty poor before Sid, probably the same socioeconomic level as Daniel and his mother. This may have been a big reason why it bothered Johnny that Ali was interested in him. Johnny might have felt that the only reason anyone liked him was because he was rich or good at karate. Daniel is neither of those things when Johnny first meets him. Yet Ali still likes Daniel. This could have tapped into Johnny's insecurities about himself and the reasons why people like him or want to be his friend. Basically, Johnny is jealous that people still like Daniel, even though he's poor and not a 'tough guy', when Johnny himself was never able to make friends until he was rich and a talented athlete. I think this is a bigger factor in their rivalry than people think.
Even as adults, Johnny derives all his self-worth from the idea of being a traditional man. I think this is partly why he doesn't like Daniel - Daniel isn't a traditionally masculine man, but he's still successful and gets along well with people. I think this is partly why he's so angry when Daniel opens Miyagi-Do. He feels like karate is the one thing he's good at, and Daniel is trying to take that away from him. And to add insult to injury, Daniel's style of karate is about non-aggression and non-traditional masculinity. Everything about Daniel challenges Johnny's idea of what people value in men, and since he has such low self-esteem and bases his concept of self-worth on the idea that other people value masculinity, his ego can't take it. Ultimately, I think Johnny, both as a teen and in present day, is jealous that Daniel is able to be successful without sacrificing being who he is, because Johnny never felt like he could do that.
TL:DR: A big part of Johnny's dislike of Daniel has to do with the fact that Daniel doesn't have to be tough, rich or traditionally masculine to be successful and happy. Johnny envies Daniel, deep down, because he doesn't have to fit into a role (the rich kid, the tough guy, the manly man) to be accepted, while Johnny himself does.
If youβve ever been to reseda youβd know that cobra Kai is far over doing it. Reseda isnβt the ghettoβ¦ Almost everyone that lives in reseda just drives 7 minutes to Woodland Hills lol. Most of the valley is connected anyway. Idk it irked me because they make reseda out to be the slums when itβs justβ¦ the valley. If you want to see bad, go to South LAβ¦
Which spots have your favorite breakfast burritos get in the morning? Price doesnβt matter, could be cheap or a pricey, just trying to find more options for breakfast burritos before work sometimes.
Hey guys, anybody know any covid testing place available in the valley? We drove to 3 different covid pop up testing today and all of them are closed. We are both vaccinated but havent gotten booster yet and we feel pretty sick.. Any help is appreciated!
Er..... Wtf is that place! Not just the activity but also the geo magnetic forces that are at completely different levels in two separate places! Great episode.... Obviously sad also.
Looking at houses in Reseda, just north of Encino, in the pocket between Victory and Vanowen/White Oak and Etiwanda. Howβs the area for a family with an almost 2 year old? And great restaurants we should check out? Good parks? Great schools? Any downsides or anything wells we should know?
Just looking to find out more about the area until we can get on Nextdoor and see what everyoneβs complaining about.
Thanks!
I haven't moved yet, but I'm narrowing down my search. I found two apartments in Simi Valley and one in Reseda.
If the apartments were identical, would you recommend Simi Valley or Reseda?
Its tough to tell as I've never been to CA so all I have to go off of are reviews and data. I'm leaning towards Simi
In the past few years, East LA prices have increased by so much including Mount Washington as well. I'm sure it's due to being close to Silver Lake, Downtown, etc. Do you think the same will happen to the areas I mentioned as well?
Studio City and Sherman Oaks have always been nice areas but I wonder now that they're becoming less affordable if people will live in the areas I mentioned. Also, Noho is becoming hip it seems like.
The reason I'm asking is I'm wondering if I should look into buying a house in the Reseda, Canoga Park area. It's also pretty convenient to the highways obviously so maybe that will add to the future development. I heard it's currently not that safe but maybe in 8 years or so the areas will be safe and prices will increase?
An example is West Adams, it's crazy that it used to be one of the most unsafe areas (I saw on a YouTube video) but now the prices are so high because of the location.
By the way, I've only lived here a year so I'm still trying to get familiar with the neighborhood. I'm sure you guys know way more about the areas than I do. Thank you!
Golden Apple Comics
8967 Reseda Blvd
Northridge, CA 91324
Cross Streets: Reseda & Nordhoff
This location, opened by Bill Liebowitz and Thom Smitham in 1983, was the PREMIER destination to buy comics in The Valley. People who lived in The Valley during the 80βs and 90βs will remember when it was located on the East Side of Reseda Blvd before moving across the street in the early 00βs. I fell in love with so many books here, 90βs Superman and 90βs X-Men were my shit! I even got a signed copy of X-Men #1 signed by Jim Lee. I also got some Oni Comicβs signed by Paul Dini here. I remember leaving resumes and trying to apply to work there for years. I loved their original location with the Wolverine mural painted on the wall. I was so relieved when they moved the mural to their newer location across the street. Unfortunately, The Valley location of Golden Apple closed in 2009 when the store sold to Earth 2 Comics but at least the Wolverine mural still stands.

I have a buddy who does Southern style crawdaddy boils in the valley. I am trying to put one together for the r/FoodLosAngeles foodie group and mentioned it in the discord, but wanted to invite anyone else in this sub to come, too. He is really talented and I love the social environment he builds with these boils!
There is currently no set time and the cost is $45/person for shrimp or crawfish, $65/ person for lobster or crab. Would love to include you all!
Love me some Hardee's (and thus Carl's). But uh...is there a reason the drive thru window is on the wrong side at this one? I've never been to a fast food drive thru with the window on the passenger's side. Did the construction company not realize it until it was too late or is the owner of the location really in to JDM and imports?
Jolly Jug Liquors
8464 Reseda Blvd,
Northridge, CA 91324
Cross Streets: Reseda & Chase
The goofy cartoon jug on their sign, and formerly on the side of the building, is unmistakable for fellow Northridgeians. And the reason I chose this store. My dad painted that sign for them. I grew up on Canby right behind this place so this was MY liquor store. I would get everything here. Rented movies, Big League Chew, Poppers, Cherry Bombs, and all sorts of junk. I couldn't tell you what the beer selection is like, although I would love to find out. The thick bullet proof plexiglass that protects the workers has been there since the eighties and probably before that. And I think it's always faintly smelled like motor oil, cleaning supplies, and dust. But for all of it's flaws, like the big creepy parking lot behind it or the terrible parking lot in front of it. It's still a Valley Icon.

What do you think? Is the Jolly Jug a Valley Icon? What do you think of it now? Have you ever been to it? Let me know in the comments!
I know it doesnβt make a big difference but Iβm curious. Correct me if Iβm wrong but I donβt think itβs been established in the show.
Thank you who ever made this sub. This is awesome.
Anytime I tell my mom stuff like this exists she just says βoh the christadelphians arenβt that bad. We arenβt Catholicsβ. No mom just robbing me of a childhood and friends and being normal is more than enough. Itβs even more challenging when your lgbT. Lmfao they still canβt get past my transition.
Anyways just wanted to share some. I attended Reseda ecclesia. Questions welcomed.
Thank you so much to whoever started this sub.
Oh and P.S. yes i am an adult film maker soon to be retired. Not a model. I direct and edit. Is it a result of my christo upbringing? Possibly. Could have been an attempt at rebelling in a way that was so over the top my parents would freak out. And it worked. Lol.
