When we point out the absurdities in their scriptures they say it is all stories. Saying this , they still worship gods and visit holy pligrims . They reject their stories but donot leave worshiping gods and goddess.
Without ramayan , mahabharta and puranas their is no classical hinduism right?
Vedic period involved sacrificial yājñà and donot involved in idol worship it is well know fact.
After the decline of vedic period ramayan , mahabharata and all major and minor puranas were written along with reason for pligrim and all holy places .
So if we treat mahabharata , ramayana , and all puranas as stories then is their anything left in hinduism?
Either to treat these stories on face value or to completely reject it as imaginery.
Hinduis defend themselves by saying these are stories.
So why do hindus are worshipping hindu story characters in temples if they are stories?
Why to visit pligrims and why to celebrate hindu festivals such as diwali , shivaratri , navaratri etc ?
If these are mere stories.

I was wondering if anyone has the Kalika Purana in pdf or other format in english? I was able only to find in sanskrit, and I know there is a version for sale of the physical book on amazon but I'm not in the US and the conversion to US dollars right now is killing me (though I am saving up!). My objective is to get the english version so i can translate to other languages, so if anyone has that, it will be of great help so i can start doing this work right now. I will translate other reading material as well, so If you want to help me get that done feel free to talk to me, I'm ghatering all reading material from shakti tantra literature and vedic, but right now I'm focused on getting the Kalika Purana in english and the Devi Bhagavatam as this work will already take a lot of time.

Women are enjoyed first by Suras, Soma, Gandharva and Vahni. Men enjoy them afterwards. They are not defiled by anything.

Soma gave women cleanliness; Pāvaka (Fire-god), purity above all. Gandharvas gave them auspicious speech. Therefore, women are always pure.

Agni enjoys a virgin at the time of the menstruation, the Moon when the (pubic) hair begin to grow and Gandharvas when the breasts begin to develop. Hence a girl is to be given in marriage before this.

A girl with hairs visible (before marriage is consecrated) kills her children; she with the breasts in developed form destroys the family; she who has menstruated destroys the father. Hence one should avoid all (such girls).

Hence one who is desirous of the benefit of gift of a virgin should give her in marriage before Agni and others enjoy her. If not, the giver does not enjoy any benefit; one who receives her in marriage falls down (incurs sin).

One who gives away a girl not enjoyed by Soma and others, attains the benefit of the religious gift. Giving her who has been enjoyed by Devas, the donor does not attain heavenly pleasures.

I know there is a copy available on amazon but I'm not in the US so actually buying the book is going to have to wait cause the dollar conversion is just crazy, so If anyone could help find the Kalika Purana text in english anywhere that would be extremely helpful, my goal is to translate it to other languages so you would be helping me start doing that right now, I'm also looking for any shakti related texts but my goal right now is to get a hold of the kalika purana.
