Joe really thought that the best way to handle Mal was to treat him the same way he did his old 19 year old girl friend, Kaylin and paint him as a guy he saved off the streets lmao.

And I know there's probably a backstory about why Mal wouldn't let Joe was his detergent. I can see Joe using Mal's detergent to wash his wifebeaters and him contaminating the whole bottle with Newport ashes and musky dust infused BO, forcing Mal to make an executive decision to cut Joe's equity in his detergent.

I regret getting a BA in Psychology and I am devastated that so many women are funneled into low-paying jobs

We know it's not the 1800s anymore where women can just rely on a husband, most of us have dependents or bills of our own. Yet, female-centric professions typically pay very low and require a degree. I know a lot of guys who went into trades and ended up making money immediately while I wasted several years getting a BA in Psych, that I simply did not want. I did not want to be there, but I felt pressured to get a degree and too embarrassed to admit I made a mistake.

I am now learning to code and desperately trying to get into a better industry.

I didn't know licensed clinical counselor jobs require a master's and a license (which comes with about two years of working under a supervisor, you may not get paid and in fact may have to pay the person supervising you). I did not know that many grad students were literally starving and doing sex work on the side. I did not know grad work requires unpaid internships that you spend all day going to, which means you work 40 hours a week and don't get paid. If I had done more research, I would have chosen a different degree and worked on my mental health so I could make better decisions.

Am I the only one who thinks about the fact that Islam overdramatizes men’s sex drive? Ofc they’re gonna be sex crazy if they’re surrounded by women all covering up. If they see it all the time they have better self-control. That’s just human psychology.

Same goes for women. And it makes women feel guilty for having bodies that make men sin? Wtf? The fact that it demonizes men so much makes me feel so bad for them-they’re depicted as these monsters that should be feared if you’re dressed immodestly like what? Women rape men too-in America the statistics are almost the same between which genders rape which. If Islam made any sense it would tell men to cover up too because they’re also in danger of being raped-but instead it makes them out to be the monsters and the only evil-doers. I’m a girl, and the amount of demonizing this religion has on men makes me sick.

What's a good book that describes the psychology of women's romance and sexuality throughout their lifespan?

Hi there,

I am a Bangladeshi man. And since its an Islamic culture, there is strong gender segreggation among men and women. Its very difficult to understand women given the cultural setting and because no women would talk to you one on one and share such details (which is obvious given the intimate nature of it). Besides, being a man, I guess its difficult to wrap your head around it regardless of the culture.

The following questions might sound offensive or judgemental, but that's not my intention. I am only curious and I do not want to be or sound offensive, prejudicial, misogynistic or judgemental. I am new here and this is my first question, so please be gentle.

==================================================================

I am looking for a book that describes the psychology of women when it comes to romance and sexuality. The book should be comprehensive and detailed and describe these things from the time women are first aware of it till old age.

It should include the following topics:

  • The typical romantic/sexual life course of a woman (an example of Western women would do). That means, how do they pick and choose men, the number of boyfriends they have in a lifetime and how they choose to ultimately get married.

  • Discussions on topics such as flirting and courtship

  • Discussions on toying, leading on or sending mixed signals (or misunderstandings from men's sides).

  • The desire to be sexually appealing: by wearing say revealing clothing. Where does this drive come from? Is it something similar to how men have a drive to look at a women lustfully?

  • Why do some women send or post lustful photos?

  • Why would someone even find a man who is taller, stronger, more muscular, hairy attractive?

  • The book should answer all the other questions that are in the FAQ sidebar as much as possible.

Any book suggestions?

Pathological psychology of prolifers; Prolifers have very little empathy or sympathy for women who want or get abortions

Just wanted to make a post exploring this topic. It is pretty common knowledge that a lot of prolifers seem to not understand how pregnancy affects women or may affect certain women more negatively than others. Also how blocking abortion would affect women in general.

I wanted to explore two pathological psychological traits. The two I wanted to look at are deficits or lack of empathy and sympathy. These are both components of ASPD (antisocial personality disorder) and NPD (narcisistic personality disorder). Empathy means understanding what the person is going through and being able to understand the situation from their perspective. It is essentially perspective taking. Sympathy means being able to experience the feelings of another.

Anyways now we got definitions out of the way, prolifers are incapable of empathy (perspective taking) of how blocking abortion will affect women, many openly stating things similar to "it would affect them how it affects any criminal that can't commit a crime". They literally can not think or understand the impacts on the woman; financially, socially, medically, psychologically.

Secondly they do not experience any sympathy for women who have or want abortions. They do not feel bad for any suffering the woman may be going through. Even often if women state they had medical issues during the pregnancy or literally could not afford a baby.

Thirdly many display callousness toward women who want or had abortion. Ie not caring if women are hurt as long as the prolifer gets what they want, a living fetus/banned abortion. Callousness is also a trait of psychopathy/ASPD. This also includes not feeling remorse for the suffering of women or deaths due to abortion being banned. Many outright say that they prefer if the woman dies as well from the abortion and that it would serve them right.

Lastly prolifers engage in dehumanization of women who want or had abortions. They see them as "less than human" and behaving in an animalistic and savage way. This is apparent by the way many repeatedly refer to them as "killers", "murderers", "sinners" etc. Animalistic dehumanisation which implies a group is evil or less than human is used as a psychological war tactic to get soldiers to masacre people without questioning authority. Systematic devaluation of the victim provides a measure of psychological justification for brutal treatment of the victim and has been the constant accompaniment of massacres, pogroms, and wars.

Thanks for liste
