It should be false* advertising π
I'm tired of brands trying to deceive customers by advertising fake retinol percentages. Whether it's nykaa's skinrx using some 2% advanced retinol. Or even international brands including inkey list which labels its product as 1% retinol but actually use 1% retistar (meaning retinol+other ingredients) which means it has 0.05% retinol in the end product LMAO. Then comes plum which is using retinyl palmitate instead of retinol but advertising the product as 1% retinol. I wonder how they have the guts to do this next level false advertising.
And then we come to the bakuchiol claims. Psoralea corylifolia (Babchi or bakuchi) OIL and BAKUCHIOL are not the same thing. Plum, earth rhythm all of them use babchi oil. While paula's choice, inkey list all use bakuchiol which is very concentrated and obtained from purifying and concentrating large quantities of the babchi oil.
So this PSA for everyone to not fall for brands trying to fool customers left right and centre. Save your money and stay away from these products.
I saw that the Herbivore Bakuchiol came back in stock, so I decided to order some. However, the ingredients don't list bakuchiol. Is there another name for it possibly? Here's the ingredient list:
Aqua/Water/Eau, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water, Glycerin*, Psoralea Corylifolia Seed Extract, Leuconostoc/ Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract,* Populus tremuloides Bark Extract*, Gluconolactone, Amethyst Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Sodium Phytate,* Tremella Fuciformis Sporocarp Extract*, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Amino Esters-1, Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract, Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract*
Anyone see bakuchiol on there?
Has anyone used it? What do you think of the ingredient list?
Squalane, Diisostearyl Malate, Ceresin, Polyethylene, Mica, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Synthetic Wax, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Glycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Retinol, Oleic Acid, Polysorbate 20, Lecithin, Polycaprolactone, Terminalia Arjuna Extract, Ubiquinone, Astaxanthin, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax, Bakuchiol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phaseolus Radiatus Seed Extract, Acmella Oleracea Extract, Ceramide NP, Biotinoyl Hexapeptide-2 Amide, Heptasodium Hexacarboxymethyl Dipeptide-12, Spilanthes Acmella Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, Haematococcus Pluvialis Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Psoralea Corylifolia Seed Extract, Avena Sativa (Oat) Meal Extract, Tocopherol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Water, Sodium Magnesium Silicate.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.

When I got home, they were still there.
The most active is Tretinoin (retinoic acid), a first-generation retinoid. It is also the most aggressive. It is prescribed mainly by a dermatologist, both to be taken orally (Accutane, Roaccutane in the EU), and applied externally.
Retinol is about ten or more times weaker than Tretinoin. At the same time, the strength and frequency of side effects are also much lower.
Retinol is a two-step transformation from the Tretinoin that our skin performs. By the way, how well any retinoid transforms into tretinoin in the skin determines its effectiveness.
Retinaldehyde is an intermediate form between Retinol and Tretinoin (retinoic acid) and is only one step away from being transformed into tretinoin. Retinaldehyde is weaker than Tretinoin but also much softer in relation to the skin.
Retinol and Retinaldehyde are retinoids with proven activity and are much more tolerant than tretinoin, so they are actively used to improve skin health, including in people with sensitive skin.
On average, the concentration of both retinol and retinaldehyde ranges from 0.01 to 1%. These retinoids are the most used in the cosmetics industry due to their skin tolerance and proven effectiveness.
Retinyl retinoate is a poorly researched but promising member of the retinoid family. It's a molecule made up of retinol and Retinoic acid. This molecule is more stable than Retinol and more active. When this molecule is broken down, it forms a ready-made working Retinoic acid and Retinol. The study of Korean scientists who created it indicates that PP is 8 times more effective than retinol, but is not more aggressive than retinol.
Like other retinoids, PP has shown activity in treating acne, and in regulating sebum production. On average, the working concentration at which this retinol was studied was 0.06%.
Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate (HPR) is the newest representative of retinoids, Retinoic acid ester. This retinoid is useful as it is directly related to Retinoic acid. If other retinoids have to be converted to Retinoic acid, this one directly binds to receptors (RAR). According to the manufacturer, HPR (Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate) at a concentration of 0.5% is much less irritating than 0.5% retinol.
It is a very new retinoid, so there are still no reliable studies in humans to confirm all this. However, one study (on skin models) compared HPR (the new one), standard retinol, Retinyl palmitate, and tretinoin. And.... the new one showed very promising resul
