A list of puns related to "Profit Center"
I currently work for Whole Latte Love doing customer service, tech support, and sales. The company sells espresso equipment and does warranty services + repairs for many of the machines. The company is relatively small, and the understaffed customer service dept is suffering under increasing demand. When the pandemic hit, lots of people at home decided to spend their money outfitting their kitchens with espresso machines. There was a business boom and it has since continued to grow exponentially.
I was hired in September of this year. There has been only one other new hire since I started, and they decided to go work in the (also understaffed) shipping dept after training for 4 weeks. Four other people have quit. My manager says sheβs trying to hire but just canβt find anyone who wants to work! I took this job because I was desperate for anything over minimum wage, I used to be a barista, and Iβm good at customer service. When I first started they were all like βthis is a family!β and a lot of the older staff embraced me. So I worked my ass off both to do a good job to help out these kind people, but also so I could get some kind of bonus on top of the $15 hiring wage. My first month doing sales I made $132. This month Iβm making $368.
The company is run by a family and they employ a number of relatives in various departments. They have no doubt seen record sales throughout the past year, and especially now during Black Friday thru the holidays. The call center has a core staff of about 10 people whoβve been there 5-18 years (no family members in this dept of course!). There is a long-standing rapport + caring office culture from pre-pandemic times that endures. I assume many of these folks are paid better as they have stuck around for so long and many have children to support. The 10 or so newer staff that were here when I arrived had been there about 1-3 years each, apparently there had been a lot of turnover prior to my hiring. The people who quit recently had all only worked for the company for a few years. Most recently one of my favorite coworkers gave only a dayβs notice! I slacked them to say congrats π
From what Iβve heard, just 2 years ago the call center had maybe 10-20% the volume of customer requests, and had a bigger staff to handle it. When I first started, my manager was scolding us every morning meeting about how the staff wasnβt working hard enough to get through all the emails we received! Asking all of us to just work harder and tak

It has been updated over the years to address various 'loop-holes' and other exploitative practices. These amendments have been largely ineffectual as naked short selling is still a systemic problem.
"Compliance with Regulation SHO began on January 3, 2005. Regulation SHO was adopted to update short sale regulation in light of numerous market developments since short sale regulation was first adopted in 1938 and to address concerns regarding persistent failures to deliver and potentially abusive βnakedβ short selling.
Due to continued concerns about failures to deliver, and to promote market stability and preserve investor confidence, the Commission has amended Regulation SHO several times since 2005 to eliminate certain exceptions, strengthen certain requirements and reintroduce the price test restriction.[5]
As initially adopted, Regulation SHO included two major exceptions to the close-out requirement: the βgrandfatherβ provision and the βoptions market makerβ exception. Due to continued concerns about failures to deliver, and the fact that the Commission continued to observe certain securities with failure to deliver positions that were not being closed out under then existing requirements, in 2007 the Commission eliminated the βgrandfatherβ provision and in 2008 the Commission eliminated the βoptions market makerβ exception.
In addition, the Commission adopted temporary Rule 204T in 2008 and final Rule 204 in 2009, which strengthened further the close-out requirements of Regulation SHO by applying close-out requirements to failures to deliver resulting from sales of all equity securities and reducing the time-frame within which failures to deliver must be closed out.
In 2010, the Commission adopted Rule 201 of Regulation SHO. Rule 201 restricts the price at which short sales may be effected when a stock has experienced significant downward price pressure. Rule 201 is designed to prevent short selling, including potentially manipulative or abusive short selling, from driving down further the price of a security that has already experienced a significant intra-day price decline, and to facilitate the ability of long sellers to sell first upon such a decline.
Regulation SHOβs four gener

Best regards.
My 3 year old goes to a privately owned for-profit daycare center full time while I work. This is his 1st month there, and they have already sent him home with 2 different fundraisers. The first was selling books βso they could get more books for the center.β The second was selling coupon books βso they could raise $ for a new playground area.β The owners live in very expensive homes much nicer than mine, and the current conditions of the playground is very nice and they appear to have plenty of books as-is. I already pay them quite a bit-nearly as much as I pay for my monthly mortgage billπ¬. I like to help out and do my fair share, but when the owners are better off than I am, and live in fancy expensive homes in a rich neighborhood I feel like they are just being greedy! Would like to hear comments/opinionsπ
Thanks. If not allowed delete. Love seeing all these kewl custom leather goods. I must find one of those roll up backpack bug out bagsβ¦..
