After seeing a dead bird I had to tell my 4 year old what it means.

I said it Δt : pro. Used to refer to that one previously mentioned. Used of a nonhuman entity; an animate being whose sex is unspecified, unknown, or irrelevant; a group of objects or individuals; an action; or an abstraction.

pro. Used as the subject of an impersonal verb.

One hour sleep, made a tuna salad sandwich...

In the silence of my head I heard the word "pro-verb" and thought: "what's a pro-verb" and my brain responded "No, what's a pro-noun."

Today's orientation day at my son's high school. He fell for it.

"This year they'll be teaching you about bad writers, how to cook rice and pro-verbs."

good luck and may one of your's not fall for it!
