>"Let's ask ourselves, if the purpose of the COVID vaccine is to prevent us from getting COVID, then why is it that those who have had COVID must get the vaccine?" Sears replied. "The one doesn't follow the other."
>
>Sears' statement overlooks findings by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that vaccinations offer higher protection against COVID-19 than having been previously infected by it.
>
>The study examined more than 7,000 people in nine states who were hospitalized with COVID-like illness. The CDC found that "those who were unvaccinated and had a recent infection were five times more likely to have COVID-19 than those who were recently fully vaccinated and did not have a prior infection."
On CNN, Virginian Lt. Governor-Elect, Winsome Sears, asked a reasonable rhetorical question about natural immunity and mandating vaccines for those previously recovered.
Despite natural immunity being widely known as strong and at least comparable to vaccination in the scientific community, Politifact decided to cite a single study from the CDC that happens to disagree with all other studies out there (many peer-reviewed) about natural immunity.
Among other issues like confounding factors and small sample size, the issue with the study is with its generalizability. It looks at how people who are already hospitalized are hospitalized for COVID in the vaccinated and unvaccinated but previously infected. While the vaccine seems to work better for the hospitalized, 99% of the population are not hospitalized or on the verge of getting hospitalized.
It is equivalent to running an experiment on cancer patients (an outlier subpopulation) and generalizing it to the entire population.

Charges were just thrown out due to the letter of the law. It was perfectly legal for Kyle to open carry the rifle.
I hope you leftists are realizing your sources aren’t as sacrosanct as you think they are.
