I've searched and no one mentioned it yet. This bug has been around since March 2018 and it has not been touched on for more than a year. Now it has been fixed and we no longer have to click on the top to spin the gym because the photodisc icon is greyed out.

Many of you may have already noticed this, and maybe wrote it down as your imagination, as I almost did. "I probably touched the screen without noticing." But no. When you enter a Gym with a Raid, and you don't have a free Raid Pass, the game automatically enters the Gym's photodisc and spins it for you.

This might just be a small feature for convenience, but personally I love these sorts of things. :) Although the first time I encountered it I thought I was being haunted.

No, before you think I'm crazy: Not all gyms. Only the ones you have a pokemon assigned to.
The new update has brought two new features that led me to the idea above:
1.) You can feed berries to pokemon in gyms that you currently own.
2.) You can view the raids in gyms that you own.
Even if you're super-far away from those gyms!
So here's my question: What if photodiscs of gyms you currently own were spinnable from wherever you are?
Idea: Make photodiscs of your conquered gyms spinnable once an hour from no matter where you are!
The biggest criticism about Pokemon GO since Day 1 is the gigantic disparity between 'city gameplay' and 'rural gameplay'. Cities get more of everything, literally everything, which makes the game experience for rural players pretty hard and frustrating. The only advantage back in the day was that the gyms survive longer in rural areas, which guaranteed them (a few but safe) coins every 21 hours. But with the recent gym rework, even that was taken away from them. Coins are only awarded when the pokemon are eliminated from the gyms (which doesn't happen often in low-turnover areas), which causes rural players to get coins only once a week if lucky, whereas city players can harvest coins daily.
My idea would help rural and suburban players a lot, AND it would improve the gym system as a whole, in my opinion.
Advantages:

Especially rural and suburban players will get more items, which is an essential requirement to even play the game. For the sake of equality, it doesn't hurt the game to bring those people a bit closer to the fun that city players get every day without big effort.

Berryfeeding will make sense again + You want to stay long in gyms again. With the current system, rural and suburban people are screwed when teammates feed berries to their pokemon against their will. Right now, it causes the gyms to be even more stagnant, which means you'll receive your coins even later, but you WANT to be kicked out. If my idea gets implemented, you'll be HAPPY whenever a teammate feeds your pokemon, because it will mean you can spin the photodisc some hours/days longer.

It gives incentive to attack gyms. A good gym system should create the feeling of: I want to be the very best, I want to own every single gym in town. Fact is: The current system doesn't. I believe one of the requested features was to see on screen what you got from a gym photodisc spin, when done with a PoGo Plus.
That has been added into the game with update 0.77.1, but comes with a visual bug.

In the last few days, photodiscs repeatedly give me the 'try again later' error for no reason. Having a hard time restocking balls and potions. Anyone else?

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
