A list of puns related to "Papago"
Iβm not sure how long Papago has had this feature, but I just noticed the βStudy Cameraβ and itβs pretty awesome, so wanted to share in case anyone else missed it.
Like the normal Papago camera, it translates Korean to English from an image, but what super nice is that it letβs you tap on the words, see more definitions from the Naver dictionary, and save the words into a notebook. You can then review the words as flashcards, in the text, or even on the original image. Itβs super nice for creating study materials from real world content.
To get to it, use the Papago app (on iOS at least), and there should be a βStudy Cameraβ button at the bottom. Itβs also under the βEduβ menu for reviewing.
For the first time I seen something that actually add/ removes honorifics. If struggling could I use this app to help me out?
Recently (past 2-3 weeks?) I have had issues with the Papago web application saying "Unable to connect to network." This makes it impossible to translate anything and trying again doesn't help. This has happened on multiple machines in different locations and I've never experienced this issue before.
I looked into it a bit and it seems there is a "too many requests" response to the translate API endpoint. I am definitely not making excessive requests, so I'm quite confused about this and wondering if something has changed and if I'm the only one with this issue. Switching to incognito or another browser doesn't work either.
Considering how important Papago is, this really sucks.
It tries to Bowdlerise any sentence with vulgar words, resulting in a piece of shit mistranslation. Whoever made that thing are motherfuckers that think they have right to define sentences that deserve proper translation and sentences that deserve obliteration. (Iβd like to obliterate their face, then.) As you know. Shimoseka is filled with dirty jokes and would get obliterated when put through this translator, so donβt use this. Yeah, one of the type of people Shimoseka is trying to satirize are probably people who made this translator, so even if it translates non-vulgar idioms very well(which is the case, btw) you should not use Papago.
Yes, this was the one, and only problem that Papago has. If it didnβt have this problem, I would have recommended this translator to the team.
μλ νμΈμ r/Korean,
I am a native Korean speaker who works in IT developing tools in Python and Excel, who also happens to love learning languages.
I am a huge user of Anki, and I have used it religiously to learn languages. And as told in Gabriel Wyner's excellent book, Fluent Forever, I believe it's most effective to not use translations, but rather images and sounds to memorize words. This means that when creating your Anki flashcards, you should include:
As a bonus, when searching for the images in your deck, you should search for the word in the target language, in a website where the word is used within its native cultural context. For example, searching "apartment" on Google images vs. searching "μννΈ" on Naver images will net you vastly different results, as shown here. You can note any differences you see and get an idea of the cultural connotations behind the word (which is interesting in and of itself), and create another association to the word, maximizing retention of the vocabulary for yourself.
But you also need the word's exact definition so you can understand the possible definitions of the word, ideally in a monolingual dictionary. But if you are not at the level where monolingual dictionaries create more questions rather than give you answers, you also need to search an English definition and/or an English translation.
What this all means that for each Korean word, you have to search the following for each word to start even thinking about adding the word in your Anki deck:
Doing this manually for each word you want to learn can be a LOT of work for a frequency list of 500+ words, and it's easy to get discouraged and resort to simple translations. Which is where this multisearch tool comes in to save the day. Screenshot
With this tool, you can enter the Korean word you want to search, and then press the 'Run multisearch!' button or press Ctrl+Shift+S, and then the tool will pop up a browser with the search results of all of the above pre-populated. Now it's just a matter of goin

I can't seem to find much about this online so I was hoping someone might have a solution.
About 4 years ago I was gifted a Papago Go760 dash cam and it worked perfectly for the last 3.5 or so years. I got a new vehicle about a year ago and obviously put the camera into my new vehicle. For the first 6 or so months it worked totally fine. About 7 months ago I noticed it would chime twice when turning off instead of it's usual one time but I'd check it every once in a while and it was still working fine for about a month. About 6 months ago I realized I was getting a "Format Memory Card" warning when I started my car up. Took the card inside, reformatted it, plugged it back in and still get the "Format Memory Card" warning every time I start the car.
I can dismiss the warning and it records no problem (I took the card out and pulled videos off it literally yesterday when I saw a car shoot flames out it's exhaust so I know it does record), the only problem is if I forget to dismiss the warning it just doesn't record. I keep it behind my mirror so it's not in my view which means it's pretty common for me to stop at a gas station, hop back in and drive away, only to get home and realize I hadn't recorded any of the trip.
I've gone into the settings and turned off the warning but it doesn't seem to save when I turn the car off and back on (I've also tried to set it to record audio but next time I turn the car on the setting is back off). I recently replaced the SD card (Papagos website suggests using Kingston cards so I made sure the new card is Kingston) and the warning still pops up every time I start the car. I've checked Papagos website and don't see any assistance pages for this type of warning.
My new vehicle is using the same USB-Lighter plug that I used with the camera in my previous car, and this new car is the same brand as my previous vehicle (Subaru if that matters). Does anyone know if there's any solutions to my problem, or is she dead Jim. And if it sounds dead... Any reasonably priced dash cams that offer a front and rear cam?
Thanks in advance.
Not sure if this post will be removed under any of the rules. Sorry to the mods if it breaks any rules. I am not sure where else to ask for help.
But I am asking for some help from local Arizona golfers. I have relationships with people on the board of the Papago Men's Golf Association (PMGA) and have come to find out that Papago's #9 and #18 holes/greens will be ripped up and re-routed in summer of 2022 to make way for a new office building which will house the AGA, SW Sectional PGA, and other local golf associations. Apparently, there is some big money driving this. To be 100% transparent - I have not substantiated this with anyone directly embedded into the project but my source is reliable.
To be clear I am not opposed to the building being on Papago's property, but they are tearing up two holes to do it. And if you have never played #18 it is an iconic dog leg right hole and re-routing it would be spitting in the original architect's face (IMO) and causing the hole to lose its luster.
Papago is one of the few municipal courses in Arizona which means it gets a lot of local/public play at a reasonable price. I am frustrated that this major decision was made without any public forum and no discussion with the people that it actually impacts (local AZ golfers). I am asking anyone who is willing to contact their local council person and ask why this was not discussed with the public (again - this is a city owned, local course). Better yet - you can contact the local council person who is in charge of the municipality where Papago resides.
Large impacts like this should not be made without some input from the public who in part subsidizes this city owned golf course.
Also, I am just a local golfer who enjoys playing Papago. I have no skin in this game other than not wanting to see my local course get changed for anything that does not benefit AZ local golfers. This is a throw away account just in case.
Thank you.
