A list of puns related to "Palais Des Festivals Et Des Congrès"
Just received my walk in booster shot at Palais des congrès today. It was quick. They asked for proofs of employment since I fall under the education category. I showed them my contract and that was sufficient. Technically my TA contract doesnt start till Jan 3rd but they didn't care. Just wanted to put this information out here.
I arrived at around 3:15 PM. I didn’t have an appointment. Everything from making an appointment right there with a staff to actually getting jabbed took about 30 minutes. The staff told me it was because of the snow storm. Highly recommend. Super efficient.
Also, they recommend young people getting Pfizer.
Edit: It was my third dose. I’m an international student and I just brought my passport.
*If you are 18+ (including non-RAMQ!!!), you can book your booster TOMORROW JAN 13 (online) or get it (today!) by walking in at Palais des congrès and Decarie Square!*
Palais des congr``ès and Decarie Square hours: Open 8 am - 7 pm OR supplies run out
I heard the news yesterday about walk-ins (shout out to PGSS's Twitter feed, thank you for trying to keep us safe!), and went to check it out--and it was the easiest shot I've had in QC by far! HIGHLY recommended for those of us non-RAMQ folks, or those who may not speak French super-well.
My experience getting a no-prior-booking-walk-in-vax:

Currently at Palais des Congrès for my wife's second dose.2021-06-10 @16h10. Here are some quick tips:
Don't bother with the 200 Portage parking lot. It's packed and the line is 50 cars deep up Laurier. Go to the backup lot. It's pretty full but there are spots.
Don't enter from the big bus station on Maisonneuve; go up to Portage 2 (I think it is) entrance up the hill where all the buses turn the corner. It takes you straight into the food court where you line up.
Expect to wait but don't worry about being late. They just took the 15h50s in and it's 16h10 which is our appointment time.
Ask the kid at the food court where to line up so you don't get in the wrong line.
The walk-in line is moving pretty quickly. There were 10 people a minute ago, most of whom were there for 5 minutes. There's one left now.
Hope this helps someone.
Edit: update at 16h47. We are almost at the registration desk so a out 40 minutes behind schedule. Things have moved pretty well all things considered. It's very busy.
Edit 2: update at 17h04. All done and starting our 15 minutes. Some slight differences from the first time but just in the placement of things. Instead of registration desks being in an L, they are set up in two rows. Also, at the injection station, the nurse sits between two patients instead of it being beside the station where you get asked questions. Super efficient and very very friendly. Also very willing to speak English which is one of the reasons why I came with my wife.
Stay safe my friends! #cavabienaller
Bonjour, 1ère dose dans quelques jours et je voudrais savoir s'il est possible de choisir quel vaccin nous sera administré ?
Was checking the website every day to move my appointment. Just noticed that the whole month is available today. Probably they received a new batch of vaccines.
If so, how early did you go, and did you manage to get a dose that day? If I show up at 7:00 exactly do I stand a chance? Thanks
The website just updated and there are a lot of appointments available now!
Has anyone received their 2nd dose by going to the Palais des Congrès without an appointment? How was that? Anything I should know of?

Merci.
I have a couple friends who have been. Now the health Minister is tweeting it out:

You could go tomorrow early or late (to get the doses of missed appts).
Hello. Does anyone know if the vaccine in Palais des Congrès de Gatineau Pfizer or anything else? Can someone share their experience?
Update:
Got mine today. Very organized. I am impressed. Parked the car in one of the free streets. Walked. 3rd Floor. No line at all. Appt 11:20. Got out by 11:40 (Including 15 min wait time after the shot). 2nd dose in Sept. Hopefully it will be sooner depends on supply and logistics.
My hand is a bit sore but nothing else.
And yes it was Pfizer.
Thanks
I saw a post here, a few days ago, saying to was super easy to get a vaccine at the Palais des Congrès, so I planned on going today, but I just saw this morning that it's not THAT easy and doses run out by 9 am. Since I cannot find something more recent than last Monday on the subject, can anyone that has gone yesterday or the day before tell me if it's still true? Thanks!
