Romance languages like spanish and italian have noun-genders and are descended from (vulgar) latin which also had gender. If a word in french has a certain gender, is that gender gonna be the same as the latin ancestor of the word?

Rui was also from language club, but that "translation sorcery" from his Divine Arms could prob be conveying those Latin words the sorcerers are uttering as japanese/english/"strahlian" for his brain.
I mean, we are yet to confirm if "Non-hero Summoned Otherworlders" such Miharu can directly imbue magic formulae on their bodies. But it's guaranteed they can still manage sorcery artifacts.

I want to know why did Latin turn into the many different Romance languages that are still around today considering all the nations in Europe communicated with each other a lot? And also, I want to know when did the speakers realize that other countries weren't speaking the same language anymore and that Latin was the original?
