How would a socially smooth person deal with snarky comments and minor conflicts?
If I were to cut off everyone in my life who have toxic traits I’d truly have no one so I’m wanting to at least find new ways to cope with situations that trigger me that are not fawning or shutting down.
Say I share something that I’m looking forward to with a friend and their reaction is to make negative comments about why it’s shit instead. I don’t feel it’s worth it to initiate a ‘chat’ to communicate how her snarky comments makes me feel and I don’t want to take drastic measures like cutting her off completely either.
Normally I’d nervously laugh, agree, or change topics but I’m wanting to know ways to smoothly transition from awkward moments like that in a more empowering way.
Could you help me brainstorm?

I know Aiken’s story isn’t entirely explored in Nightfall or Pariah. Though I was rewatching Nightfall and noticed he mentioned his youth in England which confused me for a moment as Hunt The Truth and Halsey’s Journal both specifically explain that targets for the program were chosen strictly from within the Outer Colonies to avoid as much suspicion and intense inquiry as possible.
I’m guessing it can easily be said his family moved to the colonies after his 6th birthday but even still, I’d imagine Halsey and ONI would have respected and kept their distance from a core world family considering they likely JUST moved outward before his abduction. Though perhaps that just didn’t matter. Just seems like an odd detail the lore keepers didn’t account for. Thoroughly expected his family to have moved to Sedra after living on Earth but was surprised to find there’s no info of him living anywhere else outside of England before his abduction. Haven’t noticed this with any other S-II so far but curious to hear if anyone else noticed similar situations.

Anyone else have 'minor's conflicts with people and the situation escalates really quickly, and think " I wonder if they would have done that with a shorter person?"
So, I'm at the gym being my 6ft4 215lb self. Gym isn't crowded, maybe 25 people. Guy near me probably in the 5ft7 range isn't wearing a mask. Like, not even half way or even an attempt to wear a mask. I notice, watch him for a few minutes, hes just walking around no mask in sight.
I catch him, and gesture he needs a mask (like john cena "you cant see me") , and he asks me what's up? In a minority aggressive tone. He takes his headphones out and I say that he needs to wear a mask

Do individual planet based global conflicts which we would consider to be "world wars" in the real world or smaller based conflicts like the war in the Middle East exist in Star Wars or are the planets unified enough with themselves that there's no internal conflicts going on within the planet?

How I come up with unique character names. A minor planets list.
I come up with my names by looking at a list of Minor Planets.
The first thing I like to do is use a random letter generator. Then I take it look at the planets that start with that letter. I look for something interesting, or use the names to inspire something completely unique.
Many of the planet's are named after famous artists, musicians, scientists, and sports stars from all over the world. Great for fantasy or non fantasy writers who are looking for uncommon names.
