A list of puns related to "Mysore"
It's absolutely unacceptable that Bangalore and one of the biggest cities in Karnataka are connected by such a shambolic road. Today I travelled from Mysore to Bangalore and it's absolutely horrid, worse than it was a year back. It took around 4 hours 20 mins for 150 kilometres! Absolutely crazy and the drivers on Mysore road are crazier
Edit: Changed Mysore as second largest to one of the largest
Hello guys
Recently I posted asking assistance finding a room near CFTRI.
I will be completing a month at CFTRI soon and I wish to buy gifts for my parents, grandparent (nani) and aunts to take back home when I see them.
What would you recommend to buy, and where?
My budget is around 1.5K for each gift. Depending upon the value and quality, I can think of spending more.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you and have a good day.
Hi, All. it's been a long time since my post. I've been quite busy with work. wish you all a happy new year. ๐ฅฐ
I made some incense during this holiday.
70% non-sinking 50ish y.o sandalwood from Mysore, 30% ๆฅกๆ น็ฎ(skin of Japanese Elm tree root)
extruded in 1.5mm diameter. it came out quite nicely. though I didn't get them straight. ๐ making sticks straight is harder than I thought.
it gives off a strong sweet scent that I find quite pleasant. but it doesn't have enough milky scent.
I think I could use fewer binders next time.
Hello everyone! I'm moving to Mysore, from Bengaluru, and I'm looking for a place to stay in Saraswatipuram or Lakshmipuram. I've realised that most of the houses available for rent are quite far from there and are also not furnished, is this the usual situation? If anybody knows any leads on how i can find a place (i have exhausted the online portals) please leave a comment! Also, what is the budget i should look at for a 1bhk or 2bhk in this area?
Any help is appreciated :)
Hey guys,
I need suggestions for best car wash place, someone who does it the right way and not just do it half way.
Thanks
Hello guys!
As the title says, I'm new to Mysore and I'm looking for a decent place to stay near CFTRI.
Budget is around 4K for rent.
V.V Mohalla is too crowded and Gokulam is pretty far considering I don't have a bike.
If you have any leads, please respond.
Thank you.
I live in Sacramento, CA and there are unfortunately no Mysore-style classes near me. This would be ideal, but sadly is not the case. I've stumbled on a series of "half-series" or "beginner's series" tutorials on YouTube. Also found Richard Freeman / Mary Taylor's series of classes teaching the Primary Series on Glo.
I've been peripherally interested in Ashtanga for a while after years of various vinyasa-style classes and now having somewhat of a home practice. I like the spiritual aspects Ashtanga offers as well as the system of 6 days on / 1 day off and a regular flow each session. I'm probably not physically capable of completing the full Primary Series just yet so I'd need to work up to it (this is where a Mysore-style class and teacher would really be nice).
So the TL;DR is essentially: what's the next best thing to a Mysore-led class?
My Ryzen 5600x pc with B550i Aorus Pro Ax motherboard just stopped giving me any display and booting yesterday.
I have tried multiple GPUs, flashing the BIOS etc to see if I can get it to work, but no luck.
My guess is that my motherboard has some issues and will have to RMA it.
Before i do that, wondering if there is anyone in Mysore with a fairly recent AM4 build who could help me check the RAM and processor?
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated ๐
Hi Ashtangis,
So, I recently applied, and was admitted, to Sharath's center in Mysore for the month of January. It would be my first time going. I'd been doing various forms of ashtanga-derived vinyasa pretty regularly since ~2017, and then sometime in early 2021 I started getting more seriously into ashtanga proper. Have completed full primary at this point (or an attempt at it) with the exception of cursed mari D, which I can't bind in without assistance (and loads of knee pain? anyone else?), and tried my hand at some of the intermediate stuff.
Anyway, even more recently, India changed its travel rules because of omicron and, since we're coming from Europe, now we'd have to quarantine for a week while there. This made my partner decide she didn't want to go (she doesn't do yoga but initially thought she'd come along for the ride), which, fair enough. Honestly, it made me unsure if I wanted to go, either. Aside from the possibility of getting stuck there, going to study for less than 3 weeks (since visas are only valid 30 days) after a week of self-isolation feels a bit like getting shortchanged.
Yesterday, she went ahead and cancelled her flight, which seems to have had the effect of cancelling mine, too (it was a a pretty good flight, annoyingly). So now, I'm not sure what to do. Do I try to book another flight and go anyway? It all feels like a bit much. Then again, I feel aware that my body is getting older (I'm 32), and I'd like to delve as deep into the more ~physical~ aspects practice as I can, while I still can. I've emailed the center and they've said they will 'let me' cancel if I feel I need to in light of the increased restrictions. But I worry this means that should I apply again for the next season, I would struggle to get re-admitted.
What should I do? Is anyone else going? Slash, has anyone else had experience quarantining in India?? (I've never been.)
Thanks for your help :)
Are there any exiting book clubs in Mysore that I can join?
Also, will someone be willing to start one?
Where can I buy some OG Mysore style paintings in the city?
my_qualifications - Masters in Linguistics.
The search in the university's website showed that the department is part of the Kannada language studies. But the details are not quite enough to say where exactly the PhD or M.Phil course takes place. A syllabus by Mysore University regarding the PhD entrance for linguistics also is available in the net. But it doesn't say much about when the intake happens.
Another info associated with the Mysore university says CIIL (Central Institute of Indian Languages) is the place where PhD or M.Phil for linguistics happens in Mysore University.
Also, most of the info is about masters program in linguistics in Mysore University.
TLDR; Want to know if there is PhD or M.Phil for linguistics in Mysore University. If so, the location and the time of intake.
Looking to enhance my practice with virtual Mysore since I donโt have access to an in-person studio, but itโd either have to be: (1) Completed by 6:30am EST/7:30am AST or (2) Begin after 6:30pm EST/7:30pm AST
I Googled around but havenโt found anything that fits my schedule.
Any recommendations?
