I want to create a point of sale software for my friend's retail shop. He already has a POS software that he pays for monthly, but I want to create one for fun and to help myself learn while doing a real project. No deadline, and he might not even use it eventually. We mostly just want to do this for fun, although it would be really cool if he eventually uses it in practice.
A couple of points:
- Ideally, I would like the possibility of running the POS (point of sale) program across multiple operating systems ( Windows but also an iPad). He already has one touchscreen Windows POS base station, but I'd also like the possibility of running the system on an iPad on say a busy day when he needs two registers. Is that even possible if it's not web browser based?
-What language/framework would be ideal with that in mind? Is it nonsensical to even think about possibly running it across multiple operating systems? What other things would you be thinking about on such a project?

I want to get a new laptop, is it comes pre-installed with Windows. Can I dual boot windows, arch Linux and kali linux all on it at once? Will I need to modify the hardware at all to do this? Hello, I currently work for my local Electric Utility/Balancing Authority here in northern California. I am looking to take and pass the NERC system operator certification exam. I am starting from scratch here. I do not have an EE degree nor substantial knowledge about the electric grid or trading. My question is, where do I start? What do I NEED to know? After that, what is the most efficient way to take that fundamental knowledge and prepare myself for the NERC system operator test? Then, which test sould I take? We have both CAISO and NCPA here in northern california and I would love to forward my career in that direction. Any links, resources, books, tips, classes, and advice are welcome.

Hi Everyone, currently we are using centos(7.8) as the OS of our k8s clusters.
one of our clients are afraid to continue use this os thanks to RedHat breaking the stream of centos 8, so i started to think on how we will do it.
does anyone tried to switch from one linux operating system to anoher will the cluster is live? meaning we have multiple zones for example and lets say we will update the control plane at once can i do a rolling deployment style update on the workers node? meaning take delete one node and replace it with another (with different OS) while the cluster is live
the OS can be RHEL (and then it might be simpler) or any other (Ubuntu for example )
important notice : the customer is running over on-prem,air-gap env
